Join me along to Murtala Muhammed International Airport (DNMM) , Lagos, Nigeria.
A cockpit view of the pushback ,taxi and takeoff in a Boeing 737-800 off runway 18L. The video shows what it's like in the cockpit during the initial phase of flight. Radio communication with ATC, ground personnel, flight attendant and the flight deck crew.
Interesting facts, taxi charts and actual call-outs, Boeing procedures and ATC communication were added to provide a sense of everything that is going on inside the cockpit during pushback, taxi and takeoff.
Would you also like to see other takeoff videos from cities like Mumbai, Accra, Johannesburg, Cape Town? Let me know what you think guys!

I don't know what the Wright brothers were smoking but for sure the aeroplane is one hell of an invention. It's just amazing how an object can sustain itself on air for so many minutes leave alone hours.
@CallsignBookworm
@CallsignBookworm 11 месяцев назад
Yes indeed. What an invention! Shockingly, we fly at speeds of around 850km/hr which is slow compared to the spacex rocket Falcon 9 that has a design low orbit speed of 25,000 km/hr 🤯

What do you use to edit your videos?
@CallsignBookworm
@CallsignBookworm 11 месяцев назад
I start off with Insta Studio for the camera on my right where I harvest the outside, inside, forward view individually. I then proceed to Final cut pro where I insert the callouts, titles, A/B/C and rolls. I finish off with color grading on final cut pro and head to Capcut for the easy edits. Yep that's it.

Do you use the VSD for vertical awareness. I normally use the localizer for runway centerline awareness for departures(especially during low vis ops like this one), is it policy to use the localizer whenever available or does policy discourage?
@CallsignBookworm
@CallsignBookworm Месяц назад
Yes, we use the VSD for vertical awareness and hardly ever the localiser or back course for lateral guidance during the take off phase. LNAV provides sufficient guidance. Thank you for sharing your experience. Much appreciated.

I've a love-hate/frenemy typa relationship with flying & watching this made me so nervous, felt like I was in the cockpit with y'all. Flying really & truly is an act of faith. I'm curious though, was your camera on a tripod the entire time or someone is allowed in the cockpit with you?
@CallsignBookworm
@CallsignBookworm 10 месяцев назад
Flying is quite similar to driving or cycling and in fact it's safer than both 😁 As for the camera, I use a gorilla grip to mount the gopro. Just like a dash cam on a car, it has no negative effects but rather positive as it enhances safety. In fact, while editing, I get to see what I should improve on as a person and I get to see some stuff that's outside my field of view or responsibility. Thank you for your question. Much appreciated.

As Kenyan, Kenya airways is the best deal but the customer service inside the airport is not good at all, I saw the way they're treating our fellow ladies who working in gulf countries I felt so bad coz they didn't have passports.
