I'm proud to say I've worked on and maintained every model 747 and most configurations and flown on most of them...even installing a V-Pod (5th engine) for transportation. My favourite being the slightly quirky Rolls Royce powered QF 747SP VH-EAA & EAB. 🙂 🇦🇺
@@Top10Aviation Our two Qantas 747SP's were unique aircraft as very few SPs were fitted with Rolls Royce RB211 engines, most being fitted with Pratt & Whitney JT9s, and while most of the Qantas 747 fleet had transitioned to the -400s with their 2 crew glass cockpits the SPs still had the 3 crew analog cockpits and spiral staircase and were just a more interesting place to work in...and above all the SPs just look cool! 😀
Boeing 747 has its orgins in usaf. boeing and martin and douglas and others. task to make a giant miltary cargo plane to carry more weapons but boeing lose the contract lockheed martin wins the compeition as c 5 galaxy. thats why they look similar
Where did you get your strange "TREE-PAY" pronunciation of the last name of Pan Am founder, Juan Trippe? It's pronounced "TRIP". The first cabin photo at 3:57 where you describe the El Al evacuation flights from Ethiopia is a 707 with seats removed, not a 747. You also say the upper deck is larger than a 737. That certainly wasn't the case for the original 747-100 and -200 and not sure it's even correct for the -300/-400 or the further stretched 747-8. Japan Airlines and ANA's high-denssity domestic model 747-400s carried over 500 passengers, including about 80 in the upper deck, far less than even the smallest original 737-100 which could hold around 110 economy seats.
