As a retired machinist who would like to stay anonymous in recent events, I would like to say I haven't flown in any plane for about 20 years, for a reason. Nothing will ever restore my faith in modern made planes. I will be driving, walking, bicycling, electric scootering every where. It's really not worth the risk. When pressure is applied by the government because you are behind schedule, and millions upon millions of dollars is being wasted...... short cuts are bound to happen. That doesn't matter one bit, specially when you have had multiple craft fail their phase checks and still are allowed back in the air. America defends corporate interests over citizens of any given community. We are deplorable, and our ideas do not matter to those in charge of all our lives and the systems in which we adhere to to navigate our lives through. We will not evolve ourselves being dependent on corporate, military, or government interests. We the people can just watch the crazyiness of this world we live in, and suffer knowing our input is rendered invalid by those with power to create positive changes. We are not safeguarding human futures, we safeguard the corporations that afford us our jolly little lives. However, i dont think the stock value for Boeing will go up after this viral video.

From a 2012 story about a gear-up landing in Newark, NJ: "The reality is that although this doesn’t happen every day, airplanes have landing gear malfunctions more often than you might imagine. You know why you don't realize it? It's because those incidents rarely result in any deaths or even injuries, so they don't always make the news." But now it does make the news - when it's a Boeing aircraft. Calm down. These are complicated machines. With more than 10,000 commercial jetliners in service around the globe (almost half of the total, and carrying 90 percent of the world's cargo), stuff is going to happen.
