Thanks, Malcolm. Great job. Syphon blockage. Quite a messy blockage which had collected over time and also caused the flue to split and separate slightly. Thanks again.
Really helpful. Just cleaned out the condenser trap, still showed EA fault and fast clicking noise. So I then removed the 3 plugs from the ignition and cleaned them with fine sand paper. Replaced the plugs and now seems to be working fine. Job done :-) Thank you
I have a flashing f7 fault code. Ive been away on holiday for a week and come back to this. The heating has not been on, and I've read online that the flue could be blocked.
Thanks Malc! Followed your diagnosis and I had the same ionisation probe fault code (0) so I popped the wires off and back on again and it seemed to fix it. I will order the electrodes set though as i know it won't last! Did you fit yours yourself? Would you say an amateur home mechanic could do it?
Hi, I was watching your video. Very useful indeed. Just a question if you don't mind: before changing the entire group of electrodes, have you ever tried to clean them over the years with abrasive paper? And if you did, it was necessary to change them anyway? Thanks Roberto
Thanks Roberto - as you can see it's a while since I had to do it. I think I read somewhere you can take them out and clean them. The end of mine however had almost burnt off, hence why it failed. I was told it was past time to renew it by the suppliers when I got the new one.

I have had this fault appear twice once a frozen pipe once a blocked pipe. Fixed in th second case by simply blowing air through from outside the house. (Perhaps not recommended)? The fault is the first line of safety for the boiler so there are not inconsiderable risks in playing with this.
Io ho una caldaia junkers cerastar zwe 24-4 ha23 non arriva la corrente 220v all'estrattore fumi ho testato i fili e sono ok ho testato dove attacca lo spinotto alla scheda dei fili estrattore fumi non esce la 220v dalla scheda proprio ho provato con un altra scheda identica stesso difetto qualcuno puoi aiutarmi puo essere ke la scheda ke mi hanno dato ha lo stesso problema ho testato i rele della scheda e i contatti funzionano cosa puo essere ki mi puo aiutare

With regards to the syphon, don't need to remove all of it just bottom cup, especially after you've cleaned the heat exchanger and run water through. You can clean the electrodes if there in good condition, but change every few years to prevent "ghosting" usually at 2:30 in the morning. 😀
Have you got any clips on changing bearings on a washing machine or changing he valves in my black and white television or fixing a coil pack in my Vauxhall Corsa?
