I have a PODCAST! 💛
For such a long time, we've only heard from one type of voice, one type of person, one type of experience. And, for such a long time, it led me to believe that only one voice, one person, one experience held value.
On Boldly Me, I’ll be interviewing and showing voices of the brave, the bold, the different. People like Dylan Alcott, and Grace Tame, and Tim Minchin (I ugly sobbed the entire interview) and Lizzie Velásquez… people who are changing our understanding of different, and ensuring a future where different is celebrated.
To be hosting my own podcast where the voices and experiences of so many diverse humans are heard, heroed and celebrated is something I have been longing for, and something that society has needed for far too long.
I'm so excited to be stepping into this new role and for everyone to tune in.
The first episode of Boldly Me launches on Monday. Make sure to subscribe here:

Hi Chloé! I’m a fairly new fan (I’ve been subscribed a little under a year). I just wanted to say thank you so much for your videos and everything that you do. I’m a woman I’m my late 20’s and although I had ADHD, OCD, and GAD, I had never thought I could be on the spectrum because I never related to any other females I met on the spectrum. Your personality is so similar to mine that you made me realise I was and that it wasn’t anything to be ashamed of, but rather something to embrace. Thank you so much! 💖

As time goes on and more research is done, people are finding out that Autism and other neuro-divergent conditions that are similar have a much wider array of outcomes than originally thought. I personally have always suspected since high school that I may have been on the spectrum, and now in my mid 20s I’m starting to realize it could be more than possible. I used to only really see kids at school in the special Ed classes who were diagnosed autistic who had more of the extreme circumstances than others, and so as a kid it seemed to me like I couldn’t be on the spectrum because my symptoms weren’t “that bad,” because I was one of the smarter kids at school because even though I hated doing the work, it was because a lot of it I already knew so it was just boring and tedious work, so I usually got high grades in every subject save for math. I hated math so much after geometry in 9th x.x But I feel I might go take a test somewhere just to be certain because the more research that comes out each day, the more we all come to realize that the most extreme cases are by no means the only cases, and that a lot of us who still live relatively normal lives can still be classified as High Functioning Autistic, which is not a bad thing at all. . If anything, if I really am on the spectrum, it would be the closure and understanding I need to finally start living my life and finding the ways to properly succeed in the ways I know I could.

Hey Chloe! I have a thing I've been grappling with lately. In non-actor environments I've been told to "use my acting skills," to seem more happy or approachable or focused, like at my day job. Even when I've disclosed that I'm autistic, they're basically telling me to mask more, as if it's as easy as acting in front of an aware audience or on a set, reciting feom a rehearsed script. Has someone ever told you to do this, and how do you handle it? I'm just so tired of people conflating masking in front of people as the same thing as acting in a play or in a movie.

Sometimes I wish that I was friends with Chloe Hayden. But I know she’s a very busy autistic/neurodivergent woman that doesn’t always has the opportunity to chat with just anyone. I’m not sure if there’s a way to chat with her but I also don’t want to be a burden on her. I usually am a burden on people because for most of my life I talk/text too much to people and even though if they aren’t interested in talking to me I usually keep on sending messages. Like I am talking to myself the entire (which I probably am talking to myself). I’m usually the only person that wants to talk to me but that’s not fun, or engaging. My brain really REALLY wants the DOPAMINE and SEROTONIN!!! But I can’t just talk to anyone, I can’t talk to a therapist because my brain says “it’s not a priority!”. I can’t seem to get out of my “autistic priority schedule” IT ALWAYS THINKS THAT I NEED TO STAY ON SCHEDULE!!! But when I do stay on schedule my brain doesn’t like the activity because it gets too predictable. MY BRAIN NEEDS DOPAMINE AND SEROTONIN!!! But it just doesn’t want to stop my schedule so I’ll talk to people once my schedule is finished for the day. But that’s usually went every seems to be busy..
@syl59281
@syl59281 Год назад
There are other lovely autistic people to become friends with out there. I'm sure of it 😊 As for the priority/schedule thing though, I don't know if this is helpful at all, but I think talking to a therapist can be a good part of what you want (instead of: either doing the priority OR doing therapy. It could be: doing therapy because it helps me do the priority). My therapist helps me prioritise my priorities (lol) and has also suggested medication which has helped a ton so far with the dopamine and serotonin thing, at least it feels that way. If you're not ready that's okay! I've just been finding things easier since finding a good therapist and wanted to share/recommend 🙂
@ginnymay8965

@@syl59281 hmm in my location it’s very difficult to book a appointment with a therapist. Most of them are booked out in my area.. and the waiting list can be up to 2-6 months maybe even longer.. which sucks. I’m also on NDIS which is helpful but the waiting list is still very long..

ELOQUENCE // I am a greatest of all time champion contender and triumpher. No matter how many times I experience adversity defeat and pain, I will remain a warrior. // I am a greatest of all time champion contender and winner. My weaknesses limitations mistakes and failures do not define me. I define who I am for myself. // Greatness success excellence and perseverance exists inside of who I am. I cannot be exterminated by my greatest haters. I am still breathing. // Greatness success excellence and perseverance exists inside of who I am nonstop. I am still alive and still a reigning champion. I am victorious. // After my challenges and obstacles, I know how to triumph and overcome my setbacks. When my back gets put up against the wall, I know how to win. // After my losses and defeats, I know how to achieve greatness excellence and victory. I am not defined by my falls. I am defined by my resilience. // The greatest victories occur after years of going through the worst defeats and losses. How we respond to our defeats is what will make us actual champions. // Positivity annihilates negativity nonstop. In order to remain unconquerable and undefeatable, we must never ever give up. Do not give up on the road to victory. // We are defined by how we exist in the present moment. Seize the present moment and do not let obstacles beat us. Nothing is ever impossible. // The road to greatness excellence victory and glory begins only after we have overcome the worst knockouts. To become a champion, be invincible.
