Taht big flat spot from 5000-7500rpm on the coyote is why the 10speed is so lethal, it never quits pulling or loses power anywhere in any gear change 🤣
Very cool video! You guys answered a question that I had in the back of my mind for several years: what are the HP and torque gains for a 6.4 with better air intake and headers? This makes me consider even more the Scat Pack. Thanks!
On the results from the headers you compare the mustangs results with stock baseline run instead of the intake test. But with the challenger you do compare it’s header test with the intake test so in all actuality it’s not much of a gain as your stating
3800 lb mustang vs 4460 lb chalky. The average rule is 12 hp per every 100 lbs of weight difference. So to equal the chalky, chally, lol, youd need 430 rwhp, but it now has 460 rwhp. 10 more than crank rating. Mustang is suppised to be dynod in 7th gear with the 10 spd BTW. From the looks of it, you dont start at 1400 rpm. 2500-3000 is where you start.
You can add roughly 5% due to drivetrain loss of the 10r80 compared to a manual. Not a huge difference since the 10r80 is fairly efficient for an automatic. But that would put the 5.0 ahead of the 6.4 in this comparison
Lmao dude it's a 6.4 vs a 5.0 slopar is trash he forgot to mention the biggest part of this whole thing Mustang is WAY LIGHTER so hp to weight ratio is big that's why hellcats can't beat NA GTs with a few bolt ons
Although the Stang picked up more power compared to the Scat, there is no denying that torque on the 6.4! That's probably why these things lose traction all the damn time 😂. There's no replacement for displacement!
@captainboose8788 yes it does.. stangs run the strips... u doing all that talkin coyote is the best motor out there. Let's not even throw boost in the equation. That 6.4 goes boom under 7 psi.
I love and adore the challengers but the one thing people never take into consideration is the weight. The mustang will just walk the challenger especially having the 10 speed auto and being lighter. The torque will give the challenger the jump off the line but the mustang will catch up. Having owned both a challenger scat pack and mustang gt with the coyote I would go with the mustang if I wanted to build something for sure. They just take nods so much better
In muscle cars, manuals always make more power so this was a bagged test from the get go. Ans this goon doesnt specify dyno type either. And he needs to be clear drivetrain loss is "estimated", since theres any one of 5oo components that can affect drive train loss and it has never been figured out.
Folks, aftermarket CAI's have been mythbusted in 28 countries on 3 continents. After market CAI upgrades miggt, MIGHT add a few hp but otherwise dont do a damn thing. However a dyno graph can be manipulated to show gains. The air comung in the intake is also not COLD its a few degrees cooler, if not a few degrees warmer. Unless theres a snorkle or scoop sticking 8" in front of the bumper, your not getting cooler air or ram effect.
Close the hoods on both cars and you get a real world comparison. Not sure about the dodge but the mustang intake 18-22 is very good and you're going to see a very slight increase (maybe 5-10hp if you're in cold air) in power. The jlt just doesn't have a great way to block off the warm engine bay air so the increase in airflow gets negated by the air being warmer and less dense compared to a closed air box. PMAS has an in fender design which is much better.
Ah, that's where the intake manifold active runners transition from long to short. The dip can be smoothed out via calibration, but all 6.4L Hemis exhibit this dip.
Most tuners , even the top tuners like lund and PBD and bama say you don’t even need a revision when installing long tube headers and that the car will add fuel based on the sensors of you can get rid of exhaust faster etc.. how did you get 50hp by adding headers.. that’s crazy
Exactly… that’s what I don’t understand… even the flex fuel tunes don’t change the fueling maps… the ECU just adjusts the fuel trims by itself to make up for the ethanol, and then blends the timing maps based off the theoretical E%… That tells me that the long tubes don’t need a tune… unless maybe you’re able to squeeze a degree or 2 of timing because the engine isn’t as choked up… it’s hard to say…
And Jordan when you read numbers keep it numbers man or did you not make it past 5th grade. 409 hp for the mustang stick is not "four oh nine", thats "four hundred nine" hp or four ZERO nine.
Every vehicle responds differently to similar modifications, which is why different approaches are necessary. If you're after more from your R/T Scat Pack., we'd recommend having a look at our Stage-3 package.
Video is kinda dumb as your comparing a manual to a auto, manuals lose way less Hp through drivetrain. Also the stock dyno for the hemi was a bad pull.. what was the drop off a ledge on Hp and torque at like 4200ish? All the biggest gains are going to be right after that drop as for whatever reason the car power fell off a cliff? No reason a car should have a dyno looking like that unless it detected knock hard or something.. e85 adds 4-5 Hp on a hemi and adds 20 on a mustang and is the most fun kid hands down. Soo much throttle response
only if you don't know what you're doing. The Hemi is very capable of long life if you don't baby it everywhere or idle it for extended amounts of time. I've owned both the 5.7 and now 6.4 both with over 100k on them and have had not one single problem from either. Worked as a tech for an FCA dealer as well. Their engine issues are far less common than you are lead to believe. Doing the recommended maintenance and oil changes every 3k-3.5 (I do with mine anyway) helps 💯👍
Why are Mustang people such salty cancer about MOPAR? Your car is BORING. No one cares about it except you. It turns no heads. It's like seeing a Honda Accord.... dime a dozen and BORING... It must suck to know the "slower" car is much more exciting and cooler to the general public...
I'd like to own the Holy trio Stang, Challenger and Camaro, but I can't 😔😔😔. Since I have a Stang I must hate and talk shit to any and all Chevy and Dodge owners🤷🤷🤷 "It is the way!"
