Dont know what all of you think, but I stay with the versión made between Jimmy Barnes and Keith Urban (of course after the original and best versión with INXS-Michael Hutchense)
what a difference between this version and the one w/ INXS. The cover that Hutch sang w/ Jimmy is so good that this sing-along does not measure up to it..
Jimmy had this but alas BJ was was not in the picture. Jimmy was just toooooo good! Michael Hutchence and Jimmy's version is heaps better than this one!!
+alan eades admitting to my stupidity, I wasn't aware the Barnes/INXS version was a itself a cover, in any case, that version is a step up from easybeats, this is a step down and a slap in the face, Bon Jovi doesn't have the vocal prowess that Hutchence had in attempting this song, aside from Jimmy Barnes great vocals, this was horrible
well we will never know , i agree the inxs barnsey track is awesome but it was the 80's. this was 18 yrs later, jovi could hit oot the hi's back then but hey we all get older
CLIFF NOTES: 1) Don't ever do this again Jimmy. 2) Sound engineer earned double rates during this song juggling Barnsey's superpowered voice to the mouses squeak of JBJ. 3) Show's just what an Incredible job Barnsey and Hutchence did with this song....and live!!!!! 4) This above performance Is atrocious. JB couldn't save It.
You reckon the sound guys were under instructions to make sure that Barnes didn't get too much spotlight here. Usual tricks. He still smashes it out the park. He was major league rock vocalist.
Sorry... But INXS as backing band, would have sounded so much better. Nice try from Bon Jovi, but one of the men that could do it was definitely our beloved Michael Hutchence! R.I.P.
Hutchence is a Jim Morrison rip off. Jbj shits on Hutch live any day of the week. This isn't a Bjovi song. They still out stadiums. Inxs were gone early 90s
All of your comments are way to harsh on old Bonj! Jimmy Barnes IS the king of husky voice screaming, even Brian Johnson and Rod Stewart are in awe....all Northerners.... coincidence... I don't know
Love Bon Jovi but he is too laid back for this song...as someone else mentioned, it sounds like he was trying to sing a ballad, not rock out like Michael Hutchinson would have... and why was his microphone set 3x louder than Barnesy's until the last 20seconds or so? Was hard to hear him and that's saying something, with the power he has in his voice!
Didn't realize how weak Jon's voice is until I compared it to Michael's. Hell of an entertainer - but not even close to being a powerful singer. I think he's okay with that, though!

Eugh, so many negative comments - it was a one-off for a charity concert - just two amazing singers having some fun for a special event, not like it was an official release or anything. JBJ and Barnsey rock
Difficile pour Jon de se retrouver à chanter face à une telle bête de scène. La voix de Jimmy domine complètement le titre. Et je préfère de loin la version avec Michaël Hutchence.
If you have to change the key of the song to suit the singer it’s not going to sound its best. Jimmy had to come down a key here to accommodate JBJ. Inxs and barnsey do this song the best. Sorry folks.
