Bone Altar & Prehistoric Cave Art

This is the video I previously deleted because it explicitly showed how to get to these caves. A few people had messaged me worried that people might go to this sacred place and do harm to them. So I edited out the drive to the trailhead.
I really want everyone who wants to experience these wonderful places the opportunity to do so but I'm also concerned about vandalism since it has been happening more often recently.
I go for a hike in search for a pair of ancient caves full of sacred, prehistoric paintings. I found this hike searching on google. I was asked by a local not to directly link to their location but I'm certain you can find information about these caves on the internet too.
My new day pack hiking backpack: amzn.to/2MSYlPs
I'm currently camped just outside Zion National Park near the town of Hurricane, Utah. There are several free camping spots just off Sheep Bridge road and they are well marked with fire rings.

Yes, this is the video I talked about deleting a few videos ago. I edited out most of the drive to the trailhead so as to not explicitly show where it is in response to several messages I received from people worried about vandalism. So sorry for the double post but these are also my home movies so I really wanted to leave it up but YT doesn't let me edit a video as I would like. :-)

Marvelous video! As an octogenarian full of arthritis, my hiking & backpacking days are over, but your videos and others posted here are giving me a shot at seeing the many wonderful places I was not able to go in my life & for that I thank you very much. The pictographs remind me very much of the Hawaiian Islands Petroglyphs, especially the depiction of giving birth. Thanks again.

Thank you Bex, I love your descriptions of all that you show us, examples of how you appreciate everything. Well, like the way you identified the greenery at the bottom edges of the cave .. I'm embarrassed to say I would have dismissed them as weeds, but you acknowledged the types of plants and identified their beauty as individuals. You are a remarkable woman with a huge heart. Thank you for taking the time to re-edit this video and hide the location from possible vandalism.

Good decision. I'm so sorry that these things have to be hidden but we've even seen Boy Scout Leaders defacing historical treasures. It must be done. And the way you do it; showing us, telling us the value, the beauty and the wonder of these beautiful places helps a lot of us who can't travel or hike right now, to see it anyway; without damaging the place. Thank you Bex - once again, you've done us a great service.

When you first came through that second or third gate and we had our first glimpse of the cliffside….To be perfectly blunt the opening of the cave with it’s various color tones and haphazard shape looks like a vagina hence the name “the birthing cave” along with the petroglyphs simulating such. Do you have any knowledge as to the significance of what appears to be a “bone altar cave”?
@ManuelMartinez-uv7ei
@ManuelMartinez-uv7ei Год назад
I was wondering why some of the pictographs had like little horns on the people, I was looking at the Aztec codex and they had people with the same hairdo little ponytails, and some of them in another video that you had had almost like tails. I'll look into that
