Yo I love your vids and have been repairing systems and you have helped me a ton. I have a n64 that has been kicking my butt and I cannot figure it out. It displays a green screen and I have cleaned everything thoroughly and tested the game slot on another system and know it works. I reflowed all the solder points and don't really know what else to do.
Hey, thanks! That means a lot to me. Have you checked the solder joints around the chips on the board? Any time I've had issues like that it's usually due to corrosion on the pins on the CPU or RCP chips (the large square chips).
@@wilsvgaddiction4456 Thanks I tried reflowing the solder on all the chips and I cleaned the points with ipa but still the same issue. I guess it's possible I didn't reflow some of them completely. If reflowing the solder points didn't work what would be your next step?
Nice save! The first 3DO I bought from a flea market many years ago wouldn't read discs. Later I noticed the imprint on the box when somebody had wrote on a piece of paper on it that it wouldn't read. The scumbag seller must've took the paper off. I need to find it and give it another try.
That doesn't automaticaly mean the laser is bad but if it is, it will be tough to find a replacement laser for less than $30. It's not too difficlut to perform though. I hope you get it working.
