If you listen carefully you can hear that Bones is very intelligent and articulate. That's one of the things I like about the NBA. The guys who succeed there might talk street but they're smart and mature. The ones who aren't tend to bust even if they have all the physical tools. That's why you rarely hear about NBA players messing up their careers and their lives with off-field behavior like you do in the NFL. It's a different mentality, you need a much more intellectual skill set to succeed.

JJ is right - it's all about timing and anticipation. Jokic understands and anticipates flow of the movement on the court. Hard to explain, easy to see. Defender makes half step or just leans the wrong way, or even just looks the wrong way/loses sight of him/ball/attacker for a split second... and Jokic is taking advantage of the time/space created by that "error". Hard question is - how does he anticipates/sees/controls 2 or 3 such situations at the same time, often seemingly without looking, and almost always makes the best decision/choice? He's unique like that. I see no other player in the league seeing/playing the game that way.

It's really nice to see teammates look up to him and learn from him. A smart player soaks up the knowledge and skill and adapts, so his and your gameplay gets better. A dumb player hold a grudge and jealousy, cause your teammate is "taking" your spotlight. And being humble plays a major role in how your teammates feel about you. That's why there's a difference between playing in a team with Nikola, Luka or Giannis and playing with a guy like Harden.
