I’m a bones fan but This is the equivalent of when Eminem fans go top 5 rappers: 1. Eminem 2. Slim shady 3. B rabbit 4.marshal mathers 5. The white Guy in 8 mile
I just don't think bones would be bones if he was a perfectionist and put a lot of effort into all of his songs. Part of the appeal to me is the fact that his songs are pretty much the constant unfiltered ramblings of a guy that sits in his house and smokes weed all day. There is no way something like teenwitch would have come about if he put boatloads of perfectionist effort into everything and focused on 3-4 minute song lengths. He just kinda says whatever is on his mind and stops.
Agreed, Bones is the man. Anthony over here is just a piece of shit anyway. Nobody even watches this shit anyway. Just some guy who thinks he's a critic with word play or whatever.
Andy S that funny lmao imma big bones fan but I watch fantano also He scores don’t matter to me I just watch him to be put on new and different music After all I found bones from fantano
he dropped way more and improved a lot more he is still releasing tracks with more and more flow each release...this guy is improving his lyrics with every mixtape released you gotta give the dude credit, but i digress he really doesn't care about all these critic's he is still gonna release bangers
PLEASE do a revisit to Bones' newest album Failure. He gets way more versatile, and a ton of different producers. I can almost 100% guarantee you'll like it more than any of his other projects. Even if it's a super short review. PLEEEEEASE GREGORY HYDRANGEA
I hope the SeshRadio skit on this tape helps Anthony realise the purposeful bad-ness of some of Bones' tracks. Elmo's sense of humour is all about a specific form of irony.
Remember when you gave ScHoolboy Q a 5 on Blank Face and Kanye West a 6 on MBDTF? Then you gave lil boat a 7 lol, Anthony stay on thatistheplan you're just a meme ly really boo
i gave it a 7-8 but more because if you've listened to bones since like 2013 you notice him actually experimenting with a wider range of styles which is impressive
I like the song lengths. Fits my level of patience. It's there, it's heavy. And it doesn't overstay its welcome. Some of my favorite songs from him are even shorter, like a minute and a half which I think is too short. But 2 and a half minutes is perfect to me.
And to be fair, he's literally done everything you just described as RnB clichés in earlier work. The weird and funny '90s singing used to be his schtick before things got weird.
Art Vandalay made the album. He is a creative genius for his short song length, every other artist these days has songs twice the length with half the content, most of their lyrics are just repeated. The Album overall is a masterpiece.
I'm glad you seemed to have enjoy PP2 for the most part. Honestly I think it's my favorite project he's released so far. Definitely felt the heavy Three 6 influence on some of the tracks. Especially with the track which name escapes me where the outro is "Put em up if want I ain't never gave a fuck". Just really reminded me of that classic Triple 6 type style. I'd give PP2 a strong 8 personally.
Stop reviewing underground artists, you don't know what you're talking about. If you say bones is cringe worthy and edgy then you're brainwashed by mainstream "music" and care too much about what other people think. His songs are in the same genre, they are similar but definitely don't sound the same.
im a huge bones fan but im gonna agree on the song length thing. i have always wished his shit was longer. but i love it regardless. king of the underground
I agree with majority of what your saying, I am a big fan of bones. The thing about his projects is they're meant to be listened to as a whole, that's why all the songs are short and kinda roll into each other. its kinda like watching a complex film you have to see it all the way through.
Hey Anthony, or anybody for that matter. Why do you edit the videos to things like what happens in 5:07-5:08? I actually love it, I'm just curious. Thanks!
I don't think Bones's lyricism is particularly edgy, with a few exceptions. In fact, a lot of it has some real depth (amidst the immense repetitiveness). What makes Bones edgy is his overall sound, clinging to that ethereally dark, and at times borderline black metal, production style and delivery he's become synonymous with.
I really don't like what bones has been doing lately I have been listening to bones since teenwitch dropped and it kinda sucks to see him change but people always forget that change is good. it means that bones is still trying and still loves what he is doing. and im so tired of people complaining that he is getting more popular and will one day be mainstream
I love Bones music, his shit is real nice, and the lyrics and the beats are actually amazing. There is a lot of rap that have 0 meaning most of the time, but I actually get hype off his songs, that dark style real nice tho.
I love what bones is doing lyrically nowadays, I just feel like his beats nowadays are too moody and similar. I understand he's trying not to rely too heavily on his production and push his sound and lyrics forward but I miss when a beat he rapped over caught your ear instantly
It was definitely a good album, but it shouldnt have been called paidprogramming2 in my opinion. I really liked it, but it just didnt have much of a similarity at all to the sound to the original.
