Nardwuar interviews Anthony Fantano of The Needle Drop at SXSW 2013 in Austin, Texas , USA ! Thanks to Tyler Williams & Jeremiah Mayhew for the filming! / nardwuar
Melon got that dad bod. One of those people who look kinda chubby but are ripped from doing dad things like lawn mowing or splitting firewood to keep his 7 children warm
I always imagine Nardwar going out for a cigarette after the interview taking his hat off and being desgruntled with life like people that work in the mickey mouse suits at disneyland
You can tell that Anthony is so incredibly stoked to be interviewed by Nardwuar. It’s adorable. It also shows Nardwuar’s clout and respect from music nerds coming from a different generation, and that’s great too.
(year late reply, my b) I mean Anthony's a good 12 years older than me, so at least one musical generation gap. Nardwuar definitely has clout at least two gaps down the line lol
@@SGEnjoyer Late reply back! :) Absolutely, I would be about 5/6 years younger than Anthony and I’m just impressed by how Nard had reinvented himself for the age of RU-vid… inserting himself into the hiphop sphere with that NERD interview (and subsequent Jay-Z and Snoop interviews) really added to his relevance and longevity.
I’ve seen him push a wheelbarrow, the wheels weren’t touching the ground, he didn’t seem to notice that he was holding the front wheel about an inch off the ground, yet he moved like the wheel was on the ground, it was glorious
Sometimes I think Nardwuar is a magical musical spirit, never ages, never vanishes and just shows up with extensive knowledge on who hes interviewing, Nardwuar always was and always will be, when he gets too old he reverts back into a child and restarts
Nardwuar is impossible to listen to without headphones when I need to be quiet because I need to turn up the volume for the guests and Wuar's voice hits me like a truck
What did you think of this interview? Did you love it? Did you hate it? What would you rate it? You're the best, you're the best, the Nardle Drop.... Forever.
Dude, that the Dead Kennedys record is one of Nardwaur's best gifts. Like it shows that Nard knew about Anthony's political view and who he idolized _before_ his interview, and thought of it when he met the Dead Kennedys and cared enough to get a signature.
Smash that like button, Anthony said he failed.... he only did so due to lack of flannel but we got to see his glorious post rock explosions in the sky tattoo etched into his vegan muscle. Please Nardwuar, the internet is counting on you! Invitation and Sentiments To Nardwuar: Thank you for all the great interviews through the years.I can see how much the artists appreciate your unique and detailed approach to interviewing. As a distracted artist with my own interview forma I conduct with people I consider real artists I admire both the parts of the interview the interviewee admires as well as the facts and effort you put in that may not connect. Your persistence with Kurt years ago is part of what sparked me to ask. I asked and asked and continue to ask. My first "major interview" was with a music producer named Richard Vreeland who goes by the moniker Disasterpeace. In 2017 I interviewed him shortly after his original Hollywood score debut for the movie It Follows and also talked about highly acclaimed video games Hyper Light Drifter and Fez amongst others. I was amazed when I got a reply that he was interested and researched for several days before hand. I would credit you as highly influential in both my interview ethic to just ask and to just do what I can with what I have where I am. Most of my "major interviews" have come under periods of high stress, lack of sleep, or at the most inconvenient times, and ended up making more connections for me in the podcast world. I would love to interview you about your name and who you are though I know there is a mystique to the human napkin which I think perfectly suits how you let your guests treat you as well as the silly nature you conjure during the course of your interviews but it would be amazing to see and hear you as you are on an average day which I believe is close to the person you really are. If you want to get in contact I @exzisd everywhere.
terrytees not at all he just understands were all souls in a shell and when we let our souls make music it turns out waaaaaaaay better than when our shells make music as you were cadet.... ya'know with that big ol'thang up your ass and if opinions make us pretentious then im praying for a pretentious Earth so maybe some tasteless ass holes like you can actually have a real opinion and not a shell thought
Pogar Johnson Yeah ok then mate... Your talking about a man who reviews a dance music project made for people in clubs to get high off or crazy to, as SONG's and complains about it in that context SMH The dude knows very little about some of the projects he bangs on about. Just look at this interview when he tells us that a friend was questioning why he didn't listen to anything prior to 2000. Doesn't sound like any expert i know on music. My bets are that Tony doesn't listen to anything outside timeline unless it's recommended. After 100 plus years of recorded music out there thats just SAD Yes it's just his opinions and opinions are like arseholes & we all have one. But we are talking about i guy who places a Talking Heads LP in the backgrounds when, for someone unknown reason...what oh sorry its narcism, has to record a video to someone who sent him a criticising email SMH like putting good music covers in the background give you validation. I didn't see him being credited on it tho. Dudes reviews are filler upon filler with no real opinions. In short they could all be condensed down to 2 minutes if you take out all the fluff.
Quixotic_Diaspora Oh god..... ave just seen what ya comment on in youtube via ya page. A combination of the voice and Fantano.. i think i wanna slit my wrists!
Wow, I can't believe this is 8 years old. This gives me so much nostalgia for the RU-vid music community back in the early 2010s. Simpler times man, simpler times... I miss Fantano from that era.
Well nardwaurs interviews are known for him digging personal shit he shouldn't know about at all, this doesn't really have any invasion of privacy like that.
well since in 3 years nobody told you lol FYI, 2 cams in interviews is mostly used to editing cutting porpuses, to transitions and keep continuity so you wont notice
i love watching nardwuar's interviews. he brings out people's bright sides no matter what, and it's joyous to watch. i've noticed he really loosens people's up and it feels like he takes off their masks
Christopher Aizen I think he said "you never say uhmm" actually. I can't see the other comments to this so if someone mentioned that already I apologize.
This interview was funny, enjoyable, and insightful, to get a glimpse of how fantano acts when he’s behind a camera that’s not his is really great and Nardwar was at his peak performance here. Very enjoyable I really liked this interview. Strong 3 to a light 4
The internet's bustiest music nerd. Edit: everyone who’s laughed from this I really need money I’m away from my family and could use some to eat please $brewhaha1231
