'Boney was a Warrior' is a British song recounting the campaign of Napoleon I across Europe during the Napoleonic Wars. One of Napoleon's most famous military feats was the crossing of the Alps in 1800 before the Battle of Marengo.
In 1806, Napoleon defeated Prussia at the Battle of Jena-Auerstedt, leading to the occupation of Berlin. In 1812 Napoleon invaded the Russian Empire, marching all the way to Moscow, the city was set ablaze by its residents. The burning of Moscow was a move to deny the French army necessary resources.
After facing defeat, Napoleon abdicated in 1814 and was exiled to the island of Elba. He escaped and return to power during the Hundred Days in 1815. His forces were defeated by the coalition of European powers, leading to his second abdication and exile to the island of Saint Helena.

I enjoyed this song. It had Napoleon’s life pretty much said with his wars and where he went. Poor Napoleon had a sad ending. But rather that sad ending than for Boney to win at Waterloo!!!

To sum up. After he lost the Battle of Waterloo 1815, he went depressed and guilty for leaving his army behind ro death and he went on exile on Saint Helena afterwards Then he apparently died of tummy disease or he tried to poison himself in 1821

@@AvaT42if boney won at waterloo... France would dominate Europe & French colonialism would increase resulting in French being the international language instead of English as it is today...we would all speak French today

This is both acknowledging Nepoleans brilliance as a warrior and military leader and insulting him at the same time. I don't know about others, but I would be honored to remembered as both a hero and a failure than nothing at all.

Hows it insulting him tho
@mrjudge6167
@mrjudge6167 28 дней назад
@piousbasas7245 it's in the words. They first call him a warrior and terror. AKA, acknowledging his skill. And then saying things like, "Bonie lost his army in the snow, Bonnie marched them back again. Moscow was a blazing then, and Bonie was a ragging then."

@@mrjudge6167 it's not "terror" 😂 it's terrier, meaning he was as fierce as a guarding dog... And the lyrics you provided aren't insulting in the slightest, the only insulting thing is "Boney" as it was a disparaging nickname given to him by the British public

As a Napoleon fanboy, this is both insulting and amazing since this was making fun of Napoleon, but perfectly told his life.
