The 911 is a Carrera GTS. It did a 1:26 that day on street tyres.

Fun video - Walking pace out laps drive me nuts - you can't even tell the track conditions, much less heat things up, going that slow!

nice driving something for you to consider when you go down the track before the two right handers onto the front straight when your in 5th then you go down from 5th to 4th to 3rd try not going into 4 go from 5th to 3rd may get you a little better lap time just don't shift to early you don't want to over rev the engine just something to think about and keep up the good work

Thanks for the suggestion - I will keep that in mind next time I am at the track. I think on the day I was trying to nurse the rather crunchy gearbox so I was being a little cautious with the gear box.

The 911 wasn't a turbo. Turbos have side intakes. Looks to be a Carrera with the 3.0 turbo

Ahh, thanks for the clarification. So it was a turbo 911, but not a 911 Turbo. :-)

@@Bbeavis they're a different species of automotive perfection. I got to drive a 911R when I worked for Porsche. The way they put power down is simply witchcraft. They have so much traction especially on the wider models they could outrun most cars with the same power. A GT3 touring is something I hope to own one day. You could rent one at the Nurburgring but need a 10k bond.

What all do I need to take part in this event? and track charges?

Entry is via their website, a basic motorsport license is required along with membership to a car club, and a car that fits in one of the classes obviously. Fairly straight forward. I paid about $400 AUD to enter.
