Have you considered turning off the leveling or turning feature in the gopro settings? it would give for a little bit of a better viewing expierence IMO. Please never stop making these, i absolutely adore them and adore driving your car in sim while i build my personal mx5

Firstly, thank you for the kind words, really a pleasure to hear you enjoy the videos. I will look into trying to change the go pro to fix it for next time. I don't know why GoPro make the camera angle turn the way it does, i find it very frustrating also - seems like a response to the g-forces.

@@Pulsar_95 Thanks for the advice. One would've thought stabilisation would be a good feature to have on when the GoPro is mounted inside a car, I guess not?

Great vid mate, the day turned to complete garbage after this with the rain, although a few guys did enjoy some outstanding drifting in the wet, but God it was cold.

Also to add, curious on your IATs, CLT Temp, Oil PSI, Oil Temp, Brake Temp, would it be hard to implement that on a video, not sure if people like the extra details, but I sure would love to overlook the parameters throughout the hot laps

Regarding data overlay, I'm not skilled enough (or lack the time),to set that up, though I suppose I could just throw a GoPro in front of the dash next time I am at the track.

Thanks for putting parts to a tough long-time test! Amazing how Kraken stuff is holding up. Do you have a video of a wet track session with throttle position or MAP infographics? I want to learn how to tame a short based turbo MX-5 because just running at lowest (0,6bar 9PSI) wg pressure, softer rear suspension and +1 higher gear didn't help corner exits much. 225 AR-1 Nankangs.

For real wet, get a set of Continental ECS's or similar. I have likely quite a bit more power (~300whp) and can easily put power down on them in soaking wet conditions.

Hey Dima, The kraken has been going great, but not without some challenges. After years of track work and heat cycles it did have a very small crack appear on the inside of the turbo inlet flange, and the heat cycles have slightly altered the shape of the engine flange side as last time I removed the manifold it was very tight against the exhaust studs, so it had shifted shape slightly and bound itself onto the engine. Once I got it off I re-drilled the exhaust stud holes on the kraken to be slightly larger to alleviate the issue. I don't have any advice for wet weather driving, these days with this car and its fairly slick-ish tyres, I tend to just try avoid rain.

She's a little rocket. Your a good 8 seconds quicker than my old 350 it a real handful around winton. Just to suggest what you may know already. A left foot rest above the cluch pedal level will help shift speed. Also consider physically limiting the clutch pedal to waste less time pushing further than needed. Or change the pedal ratio so you only need to dab it. Sorry if this is stuff you already know. Faster foot will match great hand work, keep it up.

Thanks for the thoughts JD. I did make some tweaks to the brake and throttle pedals to remove "dead zones". I like your idea on re-working the clutch pedal. But, do fear that shortening the clutch pedal travel would compromise the disengagement of the clutch itself, and thus impact the longevity of the transmission. I guess changing the ratio could achieve the same hydraulic travel for more effort and less movement of the pedal itself.

Do you have a twin disc clutch in the car? I sounds like it on the video.

It is a single plate Exedy heavy duty cushion button clutch. Perhaps what you hear is the diff which is pretty aggressive and chatters at low speed.

Brendan has driven a road legal turbo MX5 with the same power around Winton. No aero. Semi slicks. Mid range coilovers. IIRC he did a 32.x in it.
