Halloween, 1976 we dressed up like KISS (Hate them now, hated them then) for trick or treat. If I'd have known about The Mothership then, I'd have dressed up like Bootsy. FUNK puts the FUN in music.
Glad I had a chance to see this tour in "76" the Mother Ship landed , in Omaha , Ne . And did it land ! One of the best concert I've seen to this day . Bootsy navigated the landing well . He held his own .
I have the best memory when I was 15 yo. My mom insisted on coming with me and I was a shy kid. She on the other hand got into it and got high as f*** So i relaxed and enjoyed my music and ignored her. She never understood why my favorite Bootsy song was Pinocchio Theory
One of the greatest live ever, the mothership just landed in my room, I turned black, grew an afro & star sunglasses appeared on my eyes.. Somebody got the full concert uploaded somewhere ? i searched for days...
See, that's the problem nowadays. Bootsy has people stand up and THEN put their hands together. You kids nowadays can EITHER put your hands together OR stand up. But you can't do both! Not to mention "moving your hands like this" AND singing loud. Ya can't multitask the funk like we did back in the old days!!! It don't hurt that Bootsy is positively FLYING...
"You kids" he said...gotta love it. You just held up a sign saying "IM EXTREMELY INSECURE AND FULL OF SHIT". Don't try to act like you're Mr Funk, Bootsy's right hand man, here on RU-vid, posting comments, like a real rock star does. How's the view from up there?
i can hear jb saying yeah I taught that boy the one yeah that's my funk bootsy doing, fred, maceo, catfish, kash they was with me damn that george clinton they doing this crazy music with what i started
Thank you so-o-o-o-o much for posting this. It sure ain't that guy that named himself after a tiny insect who declares himself the great as well as the Dalai Lama 2.0 Mo' like the Dalai Lame
awesome these were the days,,,,, oh sly even made it lol when you listen to bootsy you can hear james brown influence of course he was jb bassist before breaking out.....for all of you who never saw bootsy or pfunk in the 70's and early 80s i feel for you...greatest party ever was a pfunk party
How Did I miss this Thank You Internet does anyone know where I can get a clean copy this version has some artifacts that would be hard to cleanup if I was to rip.
this is so nasty!! just wish I could feel that bass a bit harder, but it comes of a little thin.. Still you know its there and man that whole groove just keeps going!
Funny how I was watchin a video of him playing for The Godfather in 1971. Black and white stuff, raw afro, sideman focused on playing his bass. It's cool to see him on lead singer / MC mode.
Bootsy came up with we want bootsybthen recorded it then he recorded the alternative version gave it to the brides which became disco to go and the horns with bootsy andvp funk was on the one
I saw bootsy at Madison sq garden in 1977 I remember it like yesterday this is a recording artist it is a atrocity to call these rappers artist well most of them bring back the funk
