Marnie is the shy, rockstar, and goth cinnamon roll that everyone adores. Also, I only ever think of Piers and Marnie having a dynamic similar to Doofenshmirtz-Vanessa. Piers is over-the-top in supporting his sister but she always gets mega embarrassed whenever he does; only unlike Vanessa, Marnie is too shy to try to stop Piers...please tell me that someone else can see this as well as I do
i find it a bit funny that Sword and Shield introduces a group that's not evil, but instead are just overhyped fans cheering for their favorite trainer, and just being mild inconveniences to others.
If I remember right, they're supposed to represent England's Football Hoolligan Culture mostly. Not at all threatening and usually left to the police force if things get heated. Or punk rock fans.
I still can't get over the fact that we came from Team Rocket, which was supposed to be a literal crime syndicate, to Team Yell, who're basically just really aggressive K-Pop stans. Edit: to everyone saying that Team Yell are based off of British Football Fans, yeah I know. BUT, Marnie isn't a football player last time I checked, she's a musician. Calling them football fans in a very literal way doesnt make sense because they don't watch Football.
@@dantevitale5714 I guess fuckin not??? The reasoning I remember was that because they rap, they aren't a pop group and it was racist of me to assume that they are just because they're Korean. But like- Their Wikipedia page literally calls them a "K-pop group." I know that this whole thing took place on a drama video about Kpop stans poking shit at the Dolan twins who had just lost their dad at the time because they made fun of Kpop stars fainting on stage due to exhaustion. I don't remember how we got to that point or which video specifically, but I know it was one of those videos and that that was their response.
To be fair, a lot of people overlook exactly w h y Team Yell want Marnie to win so badly. It's not actually about her. Spikemuth was essentially drying up due to lack of gym battles before Marnie's rise to fame. The gym's not on a Power Spot, making it a non-destination unless you want the badge. If a gym town doesn't get battles, it doesn't generate income. I doubt all of Team Yell even likes Marnie, she's just the last hope of bringing attention to their home. They don't have anger issues, they're just desperate. This is what pretty much everyone doesn't get about Team Yell, because GameFreak locked major plot points in character bios-
Everyone: *Jamming out* Marnie: "Hmm, I coulda sworn that cloud looked like a sheep. Or a cow, maybe? I dunno, maybe im crazy. Was there always music playing?"
@@stevecooper6578 I actually prefer to believe that there are normal animals in the pokemon universe, but its like the "premium" and "exotic" kind of thing. Like, sure, anyone can have regular old Miltank milk, but have you had REAL milk from a CLASSIC cow? idk it just seems funny to me.
Fun fact: Piers created team yell to cheer on Marnie cause she was very self-conscious I love how Piers and Marnie dress all emo and punk but they’re just cinnamon rolls in disguise
@@gabetalks9275 I freakin' love that kind of character. The ones with such dense face or just poker faces, with such soft hearts. Or they look like they don't have feelings but they care a lot in the inside. Not like characters who pretend they don't care, but characters who do care, but can't just show or don't know how to.
@@Nat_the_Chicken true, but then my love for those type of characters wouldn't be expressed as much. Also works for Kuudere (I think, I could be wrong) as well.

I can just imagine a world where everyone has an aura of their theme song. Whenever it's a bop everyone just follows you around for the rest of your life.
Imagine having a theme song that all of your friends just adore and then they decide to do this at random times, making you wonder if its your own theme playing or if they're doing this shit themselves.
@@WeenieHutGenerals I don't make a habit of defending the cult of Mormonism, but you do deserve some friendly education: 1) The relation between church attendance and behavior is a matter that varies from church to church and person to person. Despite what schoolkids will insist, not all religions/faiths are the same, and not all people within a given belief system are the same. 2) "No swearing" is not a real rule for pretty much any belief system. The Bible, the basis of Christianity, says that you shouldn't swear upon anything because you don't truly own something and only have your measly, human level of control over things (It's Matthew 5:33-37. Go check.), and it has a few mentions of "foul language" that people misinterpret to mean "words that our culture has arbitrarily designated as bad are bad." The original language clearly doesn't refer to such garbage, but our culture is the bastard child of overcontrolling Puritans from hundreds of years ago, looking for ways to stir guilt, and superstitious Pagans from earlier, using what they believed to be magical power words to enact their will by compelling spirits.

A: We only get confirmation of people’s ages in the show, and in the show Gloria and Marnie don’t show up. B: Kids start to form relationships like that at around then C: If they’re 12 (by their mannerisms they’re probably more like 14) then I’m only a few years older than them

I love the attention to detail When they're holding the banners there's two fingers on the left and four on the right because they are holding the tambourines
I love every part of this Gloria being a suportive GF in the back Sword and Hop being lovable dorks Team Yell being a rad found family and Piers being the coolest big brother a girl could ask for Mastahpees!
I love the animation detail of hope and male MC holding up their banners with a few fingers focused on holding their banners. Low key wished this was a canon post game thing (or even credits with a medley type rhythm)

Your art style here may be simple but that’s what elevates it to such a high level. I also love how you perceived depth by making marines apearance more detailed since she’s closer and blurring our team yell when piers came in! This is awesome!!!
delightful bits of this animation: -the whole style is adorable, frankly -gloria’s moves and grooves with that keytar -the female grunt’s hip movements. best quality: her wiggles. -piers coming in and rocking out (-less awkwardly than in-game lmao-) and then peacing out again. icon. -gloria cheering with the grunts and looking so pleased with herself as she does. how do you draw her so cute!!
A detail I really love his how Victor and Hop were holding the Marnie banner with only 2 fingers in one hand because they needed to hold the tambourine. How do you think of that!?
This is amazing! There are so many little details in this animation, from the Team Yell style outfits for Victor, Hop, and Gloria, to the Team Yell grunts actually yelling when there are shouts in the song, to Gloria joining in on those shouts towards the end. I especially loved when Piers came in for the guitar part! Just an overall amazing little animation!
