I bought this today - I love these games & I'd recommend them for anyone, even if you think you don't like shooters. Borderlands, especially Borderlands 2, is like the perfect combo of RPG + looter shooter + comic book come to life. The cool cell-shaded design & funny characters are icing on the cake.
@@ryanmuller4996 Both are very different games. In terms of overall quality and writing the Witcher 3 is better IMO. It's a single players experience like no other, so if your playing on your own and looking for a single player definitely go for TW3. However, if you have a pal/sibling to play with borderlands is fantastic especially BL2. I've been player the switch port (which is very good) with my bro and we're having a blast. But TW3 is an amazing switch port and I'm absolutely loving the thrill of playing through again, I've just reaching the first dlc (hearts of stone) and it's like a new game in itself. Such an amazing collection. Haven't been able to put it down. Yeah, they're old games but the price tag for being able to play Borderlands on the go is well worth it.
Borderlands is near and dear to my heart. I could never really get into the pre-sequel... but 1 and 2 are among my favourite games. Borderlands 2 has the best story and weapons and the badass tokens system is fun. But one thing I've always missed from Borderlands 1 is level up your weapons by using them.

The motion controls are only for aiming and looking around with your character. The issue the original poster has is that if you turn on the motion control aiming it also affects it even if you're not doing aim down sights/Iron Sights
Just brought this game today on the switch for the first time I haven’t played it yet but I’m more of a story mode player so I hope this game will have a good story
Your gonna like it. Co oped with my twin years ago and its tge reason why i jumped back into games. It showed me gta cod and 2k wasnt the only things ppl played.
Short answer: YES!!!! Longer answer: You'll get at least two very good games with their DLC (if you don't count the Pre-Sequel) or you even get three good games with their DLC for about 40-50 bucks (if you buy the Legendary Collection and not the separate games on the eShop - which is 70 bucks total). The ports are very well done but i think the motions controls were designed more for handheld/pro controller or Joy Con Grip gameplay and less for split joy con (because i have played other games that worked better with split Joy Con) but if you get used to how it works here, it will work fine. edit: It's kinda funny when reviews say that it looks just as good as the other versions, because it does look better on other platforms (even on my old i5 2500k pc with a GTX 970) BUT (big BUT here) it isn't too noticeable (some effects are different or missing and the textures are not as highly detailed) and it looks really good (especially on the switch itself). I have played Borderlands 2 for around 1000 hours on my PC and i don't play shooters on console often (when i do then only with motion controls) and i love it on the switch
D2daICE Morion controls in general on switch aren’t really made for split joycon, motion controls require u to be more careful with moving the joycons, and having them separated makes it more difficult, since only 1 joycon actually uses it lol
Hey man I’ve been thinking about getting borderlands but my WiFi gets unstable sometimes so I was wondering do you have to play online in borderlands or can you just play solo for the whole story?
@@shadxw4831 You totally can play it solo and beat the game. Coop is usually more fun in general and some character builds are more coop focused but even solo it's a great experience. You have three difficulty modes (basically new game+ and new game++), which you have to unlock by beating the game in the previous difficulty. Normal is where you start with you first playthrough. It eases you into the game and teaches you the basics and let's you get used to how the game works. When you beat it then you'll unlock True Vault Hunter Mode and after that you'll unlock Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode.
10000% worth it. I have had every borderlands on every console since day 1 of the BL1 release (I actually got a PS3 the day it came out) and haven’t stopped playing them since. Something to note: when playing wirelessly on a TV you do have light input lag (very light like -10fps movement sometimes) but that’s it. Overall a solid game, well ported, and plenty of gore and guts!
I've only played 25 lvls in B1 in portable mode, but I don't think it does gyro aiming particularly well though. It doesn't help that the analog sticks are terrible.
I think it is awesome that there are these two sides of the game's pricetag. On one hand the game is so old and indeed so much cheaper to find on other systems. But the game is so good and brimming with content that there is enough to the game that there can be a discussion that the price is worth it. I am of oppinion the pricetag is worth it, even though I won't buy it on the Switch as I have played it on all the other systems I own. It being handheld doesn't add enough for me to replay it again. BL2 is in my top 3 best games ever, next to ARK and Final Fantasy 8.
I'm so excited to get this, I had Borderlands 2 on the vita and having that amazing game on the go felt amazing and now I can have Borderlands 1 2 and the pre sequel all on one system that I can play anywhere? This is mind blowingly awesome!!! The switch deserves more of these amazing games, you literally have a portable Xbox 360/PS3...you have Skyrim, doom, doom eternal, Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Borderlands the pre sequel, crash Bandicoot 1, crash Bandicoot 2, crash Bandicoot 3, crash team Racing, Spyro 1, Spyro 2, Spyro 3, Darksiders 2, assassin's Creed, resident evil and so much more. Even if you don't like Nintendo games I'd say buy the switch because who wouldn't want to play some of the best games ever created anywhere anytime? Am I the only one who sees how Phenomenonal all this is? Nintendo needs more praise for what they've created and were only 4 years in, I'm excited for the future
Xbox 360 era was my favorite for gaming. Better single player experiences. Games that took chances and were revolutionary. I find myself buying these switch ports more and more. I love having a portable xbox 360/ Nintendo console. It truly is the best of both worlds. Not to mention awesome indie games. !

The late part of it was awesome having so many games, last of free online consoles ( PS3 and Wii U ) and PC's having their own games, PS4 and beyond just made me not want online at all. Because 1. No text chat or 2. WHY ARCHAIC MULTIPLAYER WITH A PAY WALL?
in retrospect it was much easier to forgive the PS Vita version for its many compromises. i was honestly just amazed to have a portable version of Borderlands in my hands. at the time it seemed incredible. i think the switch has spoiled us a bit ;p
The humor adds to the charm! It’s a big part of what builds borderlands. I’m surprised someone can like the game without the humor when everything about it is humor. The character and boss introductions, every character, even the guns have jokes!
I hate it. Awful and cringe. But the gameplay is really good. Its like the opposite of the Bioshock games, which has great writing and presentation, but more stale gameplay.
Am I the only one who prefers Borderlands 1 to Borderlands 2? I like 2 but the first one had a better atmosphere and also preferable music. I'm loving playing it on the switch. Can you import your borderlands 1 character to borderlands 2 still?
Just beat Borderlands 1 & 2 and you'll notice some funny glitches here and there but nothing game breaking, though in borderlands 2 the enemy A.I seems to lose interest in me every now and then in the middle of battle and end up walking away from me as if there wasnt a gun fight going on. Great games nonetheless and completely beatable, and up next on my list is the pre sequel :)
BL2 is a fun game, but the Switch’s tiny control sticks makes it really difficult to play in handheld mode. Also, even if you buy it physically, you still need a microSD card to download the rest of the game. Ultimately, I would recommend playing it on PS4 or Xbox over the Switch
Borderlands 2 is probably my most played game of all time. Have done countless playthroughs across Xbox 360, Xbox one, ps4 and ps vita. Recently got a switch and tempted to buy it again. Just can’t go wrong with it
Forgot to mention, this is practically THE BEST PORTABLE VERSION OF BORDERLANDS 2 DUE TO 1. Portability and 2. aiming is far more pleasent thanks to a capped 30FPS with motion controls. To me, it looks like the best versions despite the 30FPS, but I already own these games on PSVita and PC.
Just ordered a Switch Lite as an upgrade to my Vita that I've had since middle school. Tempted to pick this up, had hundreds of hours put into the Vita Borderlands 2 and continue to play that port to this day, would be interesting to get that same experience on whats basically a modern day Vita successor
Well it's about time they put it on the Switch, to take it on the go wherever you please, I do have these games on Xbox but wouldn't mind buying them again, just for on the go purposes, kind of got bored of these games, sure there is a lot of stuff to do and yes there are at least 3 playthroughs Normal, True Vault Hunter and Ultimate Vault Hunter, in the Game Of The Year Borderlands or Borderlands 1 for that matter there are only 2 playthroughs, I don't think I'm going to reach Ultimate Vault Hunter mode for the Switch version but never the less, its nice to play a Borderlands game on the Switch since there is 3 of them Game Of The Year/Borderlands 1 Remaster, Pre Sequel, and Borderlands 2. But the big bonus from all of this is the take it on the go treatment that's why I got it, incase I'm stuck on a train or going on far journeys on a train. Another note I forgot to add I wonder if Borderlands 3 is going to follow along to the Borderlands series to the Switch as we all don't know that yet, would make sense if it did in the future.
I've noticed games I never got into before (borderlands dark souls bioshock) I've been loving on the switch, probably just because they're handheld now! Can't wait to see more games like these in the future, lmk if anyone has recommendations
I wouldn't say the presequel is similar to 2. Presequel has lighter gravety, many parts are annoying blocked with cliffs, etc. I remember playing part 2 and my friends and I loved it, but with the presequel, we tried to beat it as fast as possible because we didn't really enjoy it.
Probably one of the only good shooters available on the switch so if you’re looking for a reliable good shooter with good mechanics, story, humor, guns, and just free roam tbh then it’s a no brainer to get borderlands
I know right! I’ve watched a bunch of reviews on the ports and they all call out the humor as bad. I still think it’s funny. Maybe I just like crude humor.

A fast paced game like the 2nd and 3rd Mass Effect would be butchered by the Switch. Especially for classes like the Vanguard where you have to react fast.
I'd recommend playing BL2 on PSVR with the aim controller if you have the opportunity, it's unbelievable. Otherwise portable Borderlands? You can't go wrong, BL2 is one hell of a game
i remember playing boarderlands 2 on PsVita i got nauseated by the frame rate and graphics.. but switch on the other hand ohh my god 😘 soo smooth.. truly a sight for soar eyes..
I'm having to put the borderlands collection on hold because, I'm playing the bioshock collection. Then later this month the 3rd borderlands 3 DLC comes out! So it might be on hold for awhile lol
Anybody having dead zone issues when aiming? It’s huge and when it does respond, it’s very easy to over-aim when you need to move the crosshairs just a little bit. Any fix suggestions or alternatives?
Motion controls can help a bit at least on borderlands 2 and the pre sequel, but unfortunately the motion controls on borderlands 1 are like super clunky for whatever reason.
The Borderlands Legendary Collection only shows the Handsome Collection in the bundle contents on the eShop and is only £5 more than the Handsome Collection, which is £35, at £40 despite supposedly including the Game of the Year Edition of Borderlands 1 (which is £25). Does buying the Legendary Collection from the eShop actually work and gives you all three games or has there been problems at launch?
I own all of the games across playstation and Xbox but just picked up the switch version secondhand for $15 and man I'm excited to play all three games on the go finally!
All i needed to know was that if i was going to get tiny tinas dlc in borderlands 2. Along with the dlcs for the pre sequal. Ive played all of the dlcs including 3 besides the pre sequal.
What the hell?? This is what the Borderlands games look like on Switch?? Without internet??! Then what kind of excuse does Kingdom Hearts 1 have for being on Cloud?! Aside from a few glitches, this plays great and looks just as good as on the Xbox 360! Same with the Bioshock games; mild performance issues aside, they're totally serviceable! Again, the more I see stuff like this on the Switch, the more inexcusable those bad Switch ports become.
The only time I noticed frame drops was in the Noxx Armory, i did the glitch and when you have hundreds of open chests it only makes sense for it to drop a little bit. But it was only a 2 second drop so.
Who cares? I'll never understand why people like you are stuck in the stone age and have this obsession with physical media. Do you want to have to swap cartridges continually? You do realize games tend to be bigger than a single cartridge can support? What's wrong with digital versions of games? You never have to change cartridges or worry about misplacing or breaking a cartridge. You can take your whole library with you whereever. Sigh, I really hope game devs don't listen to people like you because this stupid obsession with physical media will degrade the quality of games. Devs can only fit so much on a cartridge.
@@troletrain nothing wrong with digital .. but when i preordered bl ,i expected to be paying for the physical full package and not be cheated with redeem codes that i cant resell if i dont like the game otherwise id have just bought on the store and actually preordering ment i got it a day later than when it dropped on the store and the develooer was sneaky enough to hold back the info about how they would split up the games on the store,if id knew that i would have tested the water with bl1 and not purchased the entire collection only to realise its a shoddy bundle of games .. I have bl physical copy with box art on the cart and box saying its bl collection with bl1 2 and ps yet its misleading and not even valid as soon as the included code is redeemed and stuck with a nintendo account ... wish id known before hand Also your argument about space .. well bl collection uses up like 70+gb that i dont have on my 128 card,id initially preordered the physical game not knowing 75% of the game would be a download .. is that my fault or the dev cheaping out on the most basic and cheap cart option yet charging me for it ??
You gotta understand something about what people expect from your videos. Nobody is looking at this video to see if the collection has good games. They're checking to see if the game runs smoothly and has all of the content. You should focus more on the performance and breadth of content, just a thought... Also, the fact that you called these "3 good games" leads me to believe you didnt even really play these games enough to make a proper review, because everyone knows the Pre-Sequel sucks, and you didn't even mention the glaring cons of that game at all. That being said, i do agree with you about the games' humor being really bad at least lol. They try sooooo hard to be funny, especially with Claptrap's character, and it just doesnt land, ever.
Personally the legendary edition is not worth it. I only wanna play borderlands 2 and so I'll be getting the handsome version. I'll save 10 dollars. Not sure why I can't just buy borderlands 2 without getting the pre sequel but whatever.

Can any1 tell me if I buy this physical, I’d there a 1 time code to download the other 2 games? Or is it simply that in order to play or download any of the 3 games, you just need the cartridge, inserted and it will download all game and dlc, right? It’s £15.99 now I’m tempted.
I've never actually played any Borderlands game. I see this is currently on eshop for £15.99. That's 60% off usual price of £40. I maybe pick it up. I actually have some Borderlands collection for PS4 (Handsome Collection, I think?) but never played it. Still sat there sealed. I though maybe best on Switch as can just play it anywhere. I like the Switch for just laying playing in bed.
definitely worth it. the Pre-Sequel may not be my favorite of the 3, but goddam it's BEAUTIFUL on the Switch. Concordia is my favorite place in all of the games. just started playing BL2 again as Zero and having so much fun.
Hi, I'm playing Borderlands 1 on the Switch. I've completed 121 quests, with only 'Find Steele' left, but I'm only on level 35. It says there should be 58 levels available. Where's the missing XP. I can grind all day in Old Haven killing Crimson Lance but hardly get any XP. What have I missed in the game!?
My only problem with the game is that software errors occur when you save and quit too much and also the joy con controlls but otherwise the game is really good
A smooth lag free experience... You could've just said the multiplayer component is completeley seperate from Nintendo's online system, or thst Nintendo didn't do anything for the multiplayer and we would've known too 😅
Awesome ports have only played 5 hours of pre sequal and goty. But I have 40 hours on borderlands 2 it's an awesome game and you can spend 100s of hours in each one
i dont really care for looter shooters but borderlands is the only game i made an exception for. I had thought about getting destiny but many friends warned me about it. So i stuck with borderlands series. ^^ Maybe if destiny pack was availble for switch at point maybe. But borderlands i loved, also love it has splitscreen which me and my brother love. We miss good split-screen co-op campaign
Hey is anyone else having an issue with Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition on Switch? Every time I go to load up the game it says “Game has closed due to an error” or something like that... really confused and angry. Have emailed nintendo about it but wondered if anyone else was experiencing the same issue?
A lot of my old school playmates got married or became preoccuppied with other matters. Other people who seem to now want to fill that vacancy seem to have... misplaced, malintent attached. I learn to love dancing with myself from here until i reach saturn's 4th return.
Borderlands 2 on PS Vita was an insane technical marvel at the time. I put so many hours of my time into that piece of trash. Nothing's worse than the Pre-Sequel though, omg that game was so bad. I almost wish it didnt even come in the collection lmao.
