It didn't fit her at all, really. Aurelia has said herself that she'd stop working for a maniac like Jack. Here are the twins who're way worse and she just frolics on over...she would've been better as an ally
I do like how they put quite a lot of detail into her character in, well, everything. I mean, her animations are vastly different from the other vault hunters too just to show how, well... I suppose how posh she is. She will shake her fist in the air when she's downed, and she even sits on the Stingray differently than the others and handles it with one hand, which I found pretty silly considering her character. I haven't seen how she looks when she's holding the paper for someone to become her servant, but I imagine her to be standing with one hand on her hip while holding it and standing still. The little touches really add to her character a lot. Also, she slaps people into a higher tax bracket. :X
Her standing so awkwardly on the Stingray has less to do with her character and more that so far, she's the tallest female Vault Hunter in all three (four? Anyone knows how tall the new characters are?) Borderlands game. TL;DR She's too tall to sit normally on the Stingray.
I found Aurelia....actually kinda nice. In her story dialogue she can be a little stand offish and rude at times but she's never cruel per se. Hell she's actually upset at a few things that happen in the game. Like her trailer said she's not evil just selfish. I personally like her, though the accent gets old fast.
(After Zarpedon formally introduces herself) "Darling I'm simply going to kill you for fun. It's not personal, I just bore easily." (After Zarpedon advises she leave Elpis) lol "Nice"
I dunno why everybody treats Aurelia like she's completely heartless. (she is like that in 3 and I HATE IT) She does have some moral boundaries, she's just an exceedingly rich, exceedingly bored, eccentric hunter who honestly only agreed to contractually work with Jack to have some fun going on a grand ol' vault hunting adventure. She's more like a murder-tourist than anything else. By borderlands standards, her morals are more on the good-side than bad.
Seriously, she clearly hates what Jack did after the airlock and even says outloud she hated it. Unlike Nisha and Wilhelm, Aurelia was clearly not that evil.
I'm not familiar with Borderlands to much. However i love playing pre sequel. So she was an ally in pre sequel because she was a CEO that had her mom doing all the work. So she wanted an adventure hence she became a vault hunter. My question is, where is she in borderlands 2 and why in the 3rd game is she a enemy? (I know by her character, she shouldn't have been an enemy, but what reason did the game show?)
@@whatischeese4179 she isnt in BL2 simply because the devs hadnt made her character yet. and for 3 we have no clue- its a complete character assassination. even the bl3 writer agrees with "90% of bl3's writing criticisms" so i dont know what happened there. weird because she's framed as our ally in the bl3 trailers. its the single detail that made me hate bl3's story as a whole
I actually like Aurelia as a character and is one of my favorite borderlands characters. Sometimes she even says nicer things to characters or has remorse for something's unlike nisha and wilhelm and even though she's rich, selfish, and dispises hammerlock though never wanting to kill him because she would've did by now, I like the dynamic that even with these traits she didn't want to work for a power hungry guy like Jack in the end of the game and wanted him to kill himself. Also I know that people say that she's bad because she's likes killing people even though most of the vault hunters like killing people and if not there job is to kill people for money and kill people who probably have families and work for people who are probably evil or will turn evil like handsome jack. Besides there's no true hero in borderlands anyway. I also love her gameplay sense cyro is my favorite element in borderlands and how it freezes enemies around and I even like hidden things in the gameplay like when you start with her unlike other characters she starts with a purple sniper rifle and $37000, emphasizing that she's rich. A shame they did her so poorly in borderlands 3 sense as a boss fight it's ok but it completely ruins the character and retcons events in the presequel. Sense every borderlands game has different writers the writers danny and sam looked at her character and thought "oh she's rich and hates hammerlock and that's her character", and works for more power hungry people, the twins who just use her to get the vault key. Yes, it's a 7 year gap but they never explain why she's evil which other than she's jealous of her brother and wants to kill jakobs and like I said she never liked hammerlock but never wanted to kill him because if she did, she would've did it before sense she's a huntress or worked for Jack. And the trailers seem like they were going with her teaming up with hammerlock and completely retconed it. It comes down to bad writing and not knowing your characters in previous entrys.I hope in borderlands 4 they return to the writer Anthony from 2 or the writers in the presequel but I doubt it sense they always change writers. At least we don't have to see these two guys again. Aurelia will still be one of my favorite characters and I will keep playing her in the presequel.
You do know that even Aurelia found the murder of innocents evil while Jack didnt bat an eye. She got sad about Felicity, and got angry at Jack for trying to make her kill more.
Anne M. Except Jack IS sadistic, that is a fact. The time he killed the Meriff, he said it was invigorating. He's manipulative, cruel, and sadistic. He strangles people to death, something nobody else did. He was also in a relationship with the only other sadist in the game, Nisha, the ONLY one who completely fine with (spoiler warning) destroying Felicity. Also, Roland, Lilith and Moxxi blew up the laser because they know that a laser capable of blowing up a planet will lead to a powermad corporation, which Hyperion is in the second game. And it wasn't a sudden turn into a power-hungry Jack, it was strict progression from the guy who saved you on Helios to the monster in BL2. I like to think that the start of that turn was him killing Huxter.
Did anyone else notice she said "Sorry, Alister" a.k.a Sir Hammerlock. I wonder if she actully deep down feels sorry for whatever she did to him? it's somwhere between the 1 minute mark and the 1:19 mark.
If you were curious as to what she did--she basically destroyed any specimens that Hammerlock brought in just to fuck with him. Actually--at the beginning of Aurelia's adventure, if you listen to the Echo Log she has on her in her inventory you can hear Hammerlock say it for himself.
I think that she somewhat has to regret the level of abuse she has done to him throughout his life, maybe not completely, but she makes it obvious she has some level of desire to be around/near him and interact with him, and constantly thinks of him. She wanted to go to pandora for a holiday when she could have had the same experience at any other trash hole planet. Note she also didnt have to not go to pandora after he told her off, either. it might have something to do with their families and the way wealth and power are passed down via bloodlines but its just my theory that he may hate her and while maybe she doesnt 'love' him at the very least she doesnt truly hate him and feels some level of remorse or empathy. She's still a total bitch for abusing her sibling but u know.
Everyone behind athena LOL. That's seriously something i would say if i had a friend who had a badass shield(athena)/IS the tank(brick/salvador) and just scamper behind him. Also... DIAMOND SLAP.
Borderlands 3 was okay for the most part but I was downright heartbroken that Aurelia was a boss. She was my favourite character in the Borderlands series so killing her was the saddest thing I’ve had to do in a Borderlands game.
after seeing her trailer i expected a lower tone voice to go with her seemingly stoic actions. however it does fit her relation with sir hammerlock and his accent.
at first i wasn't very fond of her voice because it felt a less... animated voice suited her cool, cunning appearance. but after maining her for a long time i ended up falling in love with it. she's like a cartoon villain sometimes yeah, but some of her lines and expressions are downright adorable and i love how ruthless she is. especially towards jack. shame they didn't have the resources to give characters unique dialogue lines for her. i imagine her and jack would have some really funny interactions, given their egos.
sorry to doublepost but MAN. It sucks how badly aurelia has been treated by gearbox since the very beginning. such a beautiful design and fun character kinda just got squandered. first out of necessity bc of a failing company (2k AUS) and then just from poor writing decisions. they may have ruined her but ill always hold the bit of good content we got from this character close to my heart.
they should move her and "jack" over to BL2 all they would have to do is remove the lines with the names of the other hunters since bl2 didn't really make use of the vault hunter names in the vh voice lines until pre sequel, though they would probably have to change her ability due to no cryo
Kinda sucks that the dialogue spoken to her by other characters is super generic and rushed. Like, no one in the game refers to her by her name unlike the other vault hunters.
I like Aurelia Sure she's a stone cold bitch and definitely NOT a good person. But she's moral enough to refuse to work with Handsome Jack and I think that adds an interesting layer to her. Like yeah she'd kill people for fun but thats the thing shes in it for FUN. She's not cruel she's just indifferent. Which is way more *real* feeling than most villains who are just cruel because?????????
