When he shot the Major he wasn't sad or anything that he had to kill him but "angry that he ruined it by trying to betray him" and found killing him exhilarating. Heres something I observed at the ending of TPS (keep in mind its been awhile) Before you head off to the Vault if you take a quick look-sie on Jack's desk you can see a framed photo of his daughter Angel standing upright. When you finish the game and turn in the quest to Jack if you look back at the desk you can see that the framed photo of his daughter is face down.

Lilith just punched him for no reason and her actions cemented a horrific sequence of events. No sense of responsibility, orders Athena to die because she's powertripping, officially the worst leader. I don't see how she's that different from Jack, all of the betrayals leading up to him losing his mind, before pushing him over the edge.

People rightfully rip on Ava for being a terrible character who never has to face the music for getting Maya killed, but Lilith is also pretty guilty of that as well.
Troy was actually getting interesting and could have developed into a better villain but they went and even boned that decent idea. Still a great game all things said but questionable to bad story telling and character development
Maybe Jack its a very good villain, but that doesnt mean that all others are bad villains. Twins are really good villains too, they represent teenager society messing up with social media, reaching the point of create a sect that have no self mind.

Man when you really think about it nearly every thing that went wrong in the main BL story could be traced back to Lilith doing something incredibly rash. Pushing jack over the edge, getting Roland killed, the downfall of the crimson raiders (twice), she lost her powers out of arrogance (why didn’t she just run), its a stretch but you could even point fingers at her for the death of Maya.

Sir Taylor Great character but never really had any incentive to be there. He was just...tacked on, none of his actions seemed to make that big of an effect to the overall plot.
It is presumed that in borderlands 3 we will have every single vault hunter from all the games at out disposal , even plain characters like fiona , Rhys , August or even loaderbot
Coming back to this after BL3 shows he really cared for his daughter and was visibly shattered by his wife’s death in the turret accident and was afraid of his daughter losing control again but gave her the best he could do without having her in the open and sirens were considered a resource and people tried to take her from him to sell her for millions it shows that during the pre sequel was the true start of his downfall his end justifies the mean viewpoint clashed with moxxi and crew and they betrayed him at the end he was truly a broken man formed into a new one.
Such an awesome scene, another reason on why Handsome Jack is a G.O.A.T us because if his great origin story, a good origin story is what makes a great villain and Handsome Jack definitely has one, Pre-Sequel has always been my personal favorite.
after playing TPS BL2 and BL3 i can safely say that lilith is by far the most evil and most incompetent character. its not even close. she caused almost every major death i can think of and if not directly leading to a death she causes people to go evil or she fucks over the heroes
My opinion on who is the hero is that none of them are. Lilith punched him because he would be corrupt with power, and, if you played the beginning of the Pre-Sequel, Jack's attitude was still the same. Yet again, without Lilith he would've gone mad with knowledge, but she shouldn't have betrayed him.

Man, I remember living with the eternal mystery of what Borderlands 3 was going to be. It's BL3! The third one! It seemed like it would never come out, but my imagination ran wild with the possibilities this cliffhanger left. I would always talk with one of my friends about the way the game could be. We always came back around to all the vault hunters being playable (except for some obvious no-shows), some new ones being added (we even sometimes imagined Mr. Torgue being playable, and that he'd be broken as Hell), and the game obviously being about the war mentioned here. You would travel the galaxy, defeating Vaults on your way to victory, or maybe the Vaults were the key. Obviously BL3 as it is is not that. In hindsight, it almost seems like the effort that would've gone into that kind of BL3 was put into Battleborn. Perhaps Battleborn was at one point originally BL3. It would make a lot of sense relative to what seems to be the original vision for the game. Battleborn had a lot of characters that were definitely Vault Hunter material, and you do travel planets in that game, in a sort of war. I know the game flopped, but it really was a peculiar situation. Maybe the failure was karma for Gearbox opting for a quick cash grab on a popular genre, rather than working the game into the BL3 we should've gotten.
I'm still sad because of that. Also, as I heard, publisher said that the Pre-Sequel is NOT CANON. That made me angry, because in the Pre-Sequel we have many things that lead into something greater. The Great War (mentioned in the ending), or, as I call it, Corporate War II... That would be epic and great for the BL series, but... Unfortunately we got the wrong BL3. Just a candy wrap without the candy itself.
@@ГотаБГ I think TPS is canon. It has to be, or Tales can't be canon, which it is. Rhys is the owner of Atlas in BL3, which he becomes the owner during Tales. In Tales we also see Athena get captured by Brick and Mordecai, leading to the story telling of the parts we play in TPS. If anything's non-canon, it's BL3. It is the only game that doesn't follow the established continuity. With the confirmed Tales 2, I think we might see some of the story retconned, or even simply explained away, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Lilith and Roland literally could of convinced Jack (before he started really losing it) to escort people who wernt actual bandits off Pandora before he cleanses it while at the same time providing themselves a powerful ally (in this case A WHOLE CORPORATION) which would of provided better basing and resources for whatever comes their way, yea they'd be working under Jack, BUT i feel Lilith and Roland could of supported Jack mentally and helped him return to more of a humane state of mind by possibly convincing him to put up the Moonshot cannon and resealing the eye of the destroyer. Since his only plan was to wipe Pandora of bandits to make it more habitable, they could of also mentioned the lives he would of saved by providing a safer environment for the citizens which further would of helped his humanity.

Or shoot up a train full of women and children. Or plan to insert endoskeletons into everybody to control them as flesh zombies. The Vault Hunters and citizens of Sanctuary may not be saints, but IMHO, they're a hell of a lot safer to be around than Jack. Because, you see, not once do they attack or kill their own citizens, but Jack will murder his colleagues and minions just to make a point. You are right that Jack would have died a hero if Lilith actually killed him in that Vault, but even then he already had a lot of blood on his hands (and not just hostile blood - remember Gladstone). Jack is hardly an Angel. And he has a tendency to kill off those who come close to actually being good. Whether directly, or indirectly. Gladstone, Roland, Angel, Tina's parents, Helena Pierce, whoever Krieg used to be, just to name a few. He tortured Tannis for hours and called it "Mercy" because he didn't finish her off. He broke her, and passed it off as a good thing. And his experiments were way, waaaaaay more messed up than Zed's. Lab rats? Bloodwing? Krieg (again)? Not to mention the innumerable fatalities that occurred in his Preserve. At least Zed offset his shadier side by actually healing everyone. Jack just seems to have the worst side of everyone in the setting, all rolled into one package, with delusions of heroism and extreme insanity to top it off. While he may have died as the Saviour of Elpis, had he survived BL2 he would have been the one who destroyed Pandora. He was planning to wipe that planet clean with the Warrior. He doesn't see people. He sees resources, planets, Vaults and bandits to be killed. He is blind to the good in others and blind to the bad in himself. That is what makes him so dangerous. Is he evil? You could say that. To me though, he just seems really, really, really mentally broken. Moxxi was right when she said that there was something seriously wrong with him, underneath all of his charm. He's the biggest arse on Pandora. And yes, there are arses aplenty on that planet, but IMHO, he is the biggest. A good person does not do what he did, no matter how others treat them. No amount of tragic backstory justifies 5 years of reforming a company into a dictatorship and killing whoever you feel like. In JACK'S OWN WORDS "Sure, the universe is a rough place, but that's no excuse to be an asshole..." He is such a hypocrite, and I'm not just saying that because of that one quote. He kills people for swearing, but does it himself. He calls you a monster for killing his daughter, even though that is what she wanted, when she died only because she was suffering withdrawal from Jack's eridium, even though Jack has killed many children himself, and orphaned others and still has the audacity to call himself "the Hero". Being a hero isn't about calling yourself that, then proceeding to reinforce it with the right words as you commit atrocity after atrocity. That is propaganda of the worst kind, not heroism. He speaks of turning Pandora into a paradise, but all we see of that is Opportunity, an exclusive city for the richest families in the six galaxies. The rest is just experiment facilities, military posts and "Friendship Gulags". He doesn't care for helping those that are trapped on that world. What he wants is to reshape it in his image, to play God. But, he isn't a god and so his quest is doomed to fail. It's pretty telling that Angel, the person closest to Jack out of everyone else, believes him to be a monster and warns you of his manipulative nature once she starts helping you for real. I'm sorry, but Jack is a monster. A funny, charming monster. But a monster. But that's just my opinion, I guess. Yes, yes, I know it's ironic that I have Jack's face as my profile pic (at the time of writing), but appearances aren't everything. Final note: How many people do you think the Vault Hunters saved by ending his regime? By helping out Overlook? But, as I've said, I guess this is just all my opinion.
Even Athena regrets working for the guy. But I think the one thing we can agree on is that Lilith was wrong to order Athena's execution. That was not right. Not right at all.
the vault hunters are not the heros the whole point is that there is no hero the thing you are fighting for is the old pandora the one where bandits were every where and no one was in control

I really feel like an opportunity to make Lilith the villain in the next Borderlands game was wasted. Because of her actions, Roland gets killed, Pandora suffers from Hyperion's wrath, and thousands die. Sure, Jack wasn't really innocent, but his entire life he was pushed around by others like his grandmother and his boss. He wanted to try and do good, but everyone betrayed him and it warped him slowly into insanity. Ehat Lilith did by betraying and scaring him were the final blows to his sanity and good side. Roland at least expressed remorse to Jack for what they did. Lilith didn't care and didn't take responsibility for her own actions.
I think Lilith is honestly following the same path, but on a more "sane" note. It is evident here in the ending that she doesnt care about one life or another, if it has to do with HJ she wants it gone. She's become to dictatoristic for her own good. I understand she wants to do good but the two at the end even tried to stop her because it "isn't you". Even they can see that she is just acting on her feelings rather than being intelligent. My hope is that she either realizes that if she isnt careful her "rule" will end badly, that or she meets a fitting end much to the likes of the public execution she just tried on Athena Athena may not be the best, but this is just wrong on every level

I still don't see how people blame Lilith. She is not responsible for him being evil. Her betraying him was kind of the right thing to do in a way. Jack enjoyed killing the meriff, he erased Felicity's personality against her will, he killed a bunch of scientists because one of them might've been a traitor, and according to Moxxi in BL2, Jack slaughtered an entire village. You can sympathize with Jack, but you can't try to turn this around on Lilith and blame her for everything in BL2. All she did was give Jack one last push towards going insane, and that is on her. However Lilith also later on owns up to that, and apologizes to Athena for trying to execute her

Honestly I agree. I understand the fact that Jack was trying to do good (But then going insane becoming the man he is in BL2). However the few actions he did before Roland, Moxxi, and Lilith, he wasn't entirely a good guy. He did use Angel to trick the VH in BL1 to open the vault to get the eye of Destroyer (Which the idea of the eye of a being who wiped out an entire civilization being used as a deterrent or whatever else Jack had in mind does not sound like a good idea to me.) Destroyed Moxxi's Underdome after she broke up with (If people died in that destruction, then maybe Moxxi's betrayal would make more sense, but nothing can entirely prove it.) Everyone in the series are not considered good in my eyes. It's basically on the border of grey/black/white. Also, due to Jack's tendencies in TPS, It's possible for him to still be the same as he was in BL2 if the VH didn't betray him, just not to the extreme levels he was. Possible but not probable. Also I can blame The Watcher for everything that happened in TPS and BL2 as much as those who blame Lilith for the same thing. Of course I could be entirely wrong. But hey my thoughts on the matter.

Lilith is just the worst. Ava is a totally peice of shit, and even she's got more sense than lilith. The best of the sirens got killed in BL3 because of a combination of the two of them.. And as annoying as Ava is...at least she shows some remorse.. Lilith is just like "sup". BL4 shoild begin with Tannis explaining how they're going to uncover remaining vaults carefully to avoid waking any "raid bosses" cause they're scary and icky (in kinda a 4th wall break) .. And then all the sudden Salvador punches a hole through the side of the sanctuary ship(in a real wall break) .. After returning from some adventure with Doctor Zed and Axton.
