Just found your videos. I think bored/depressed are often code words for lonely.

Agree. Just watched her incredible apartment tour, featuring hand-selected from the flea market hardware details like the closet door handles, and all kinds of custom-built features, artwork, yet she says NO ONE has come to visit. IMHO this woman needs to direct her attention elsewhere. Forget materialism/consumerism/Instagram. Wondering why her channel is named "Extraordinary Women"?... my first year working in Paris, I had friends and family coming from the States every 2 weeks and sleeping in my click-clack beside me in 20 sqm furnished with "found in the street" studio. Fun! She's missing the big picture. What really matters in life.

You might be correct, but know that podcasts are created in a specific moment in time...and not to be generalized to an entire life. One minute we can feel bored...or lonely...and the next minute we have a house full of friends! You've got me thinking though...

OMG, this is so wonderful. I am the Queen of “what ifs” and I truly have nothing to really worry about. I’m 61 but my brain is probably 200 from all the stress of playing out scenarios 😂. Thank you!

@@extraordinarywomennextchapter you can take the girl out of Boston; but you can’t take Boston out of the girl-maybe that’s part of it-we are always at the ready. I lived in the North End before moving down to Sarasota. Next move is to France. Time frame TBD due to elder care commitment.

My walks keep me balanced, been calling them zenwalks for years now. I calibrate.. take gorgeous pictures.. connect with nature.. get great creative ideas.. listen to interesting podcasts & music.. keep fit & sane. Can't do without them, if a few days go by and i didn't go for my zenwalk, things begin to get wonky lol. I spread my errands throughout the week and walk.. no transportation, if the shop is 30min or 45min heck! even an hour or so away.. i will walk it. Never got bored, even on my very long walks. 🌷🦋🎶

What an interesting way of looking at boredom which I have never considered. I totally agree with you about not being in the present moment and perhaps wishing for something different or something so unrealistic at present you have no control over can hijack our happiness. But I have never linked that to boredom specifically. However after watching your video, I do see that link between the two. Such a good suggestion to “accept our boredom” and evaluate our current priorities. Be mindful! Brilliant video xxx Thank you 😊

I love your channel, I just found it, and it’s so refreshing 😊 I am very nearly an empty nester, divorcee of 15 yrs. My partner is French but we make it work by seeing each other once a month. When I’m fully free, I’m moving to Paris. He lives about an hour and a half away but we are not planning to live together 😂 other people find that strange but it will be best for both of us, to be in the same country but not on top of each other 😂 I’ll not be far from the kids 🇬🇧 next to work out how to finance this dream as I want to keep a small place in the uk!

I forgot to mention your wonderful insights on being bored.. i got carried away with the zenstroll thoughts 🥰 anyway, we can be in a beautiful place like Paris but if our mind is someplace else, it can make a huge difference. I went on a road trip to NYC from Mtl and continued on to Atlantic City, my mind was stuck in NYC and I didn't enjoy Atlantic City as much as I could have and just being in the present moment.. walking on the boardwalk, enjoying a bit of slot machine dopamine hit and the rest. 🌊😎

You are so right...when we are preoccupied with someone or somewhere else, it doesn't matter where we are! Maybe I'll try ways to figure out how to better compartmentalize so I can enjoy the present!!
