In the past 14 months I’ve learnt so much about myself, most of this was learnt while wearing my trainers and pounding the pavement.
Back in January 2020 I thought it would be a good idea to start documenting some of my days in order to keep me motivated and to look back on one day.
12 months later we started putting that together to make a short film.
Bored Of Being The Fat Kid.
Originally I planned on just watching this film alone in my bedroom one day and almost saying ‘Well Done Colson’ but now I feel I have the chance to maybe help someone else who was in the same position as me.
The documentary is all about my experiences with running, Food, Fitness & weight loss.
The reason I decided to made the film is it’s my chance to tell my truth in my way.
Directed by Tim Royle WHITE NO SUGAR
Fatboy Slim Praise You

I was 74 though and had arthritis, but walk instead of run and eat well and healthily, joined Slimming World so I had the support of others. Now I’m at a good healthy weight, I’ve gained a new life, new friends and a whole new respect for myself. I wish I’d done it when I was younger, like you. Well done - enjoy your fantastic new you. Well done! Im 10 years older than you but I was a fat ginger kid too! After watching this, it was around the same time you started I’d started to try and lose weight. I remember a few months into it, my sister sent me an article about you and how different you looked. I’m actually convinced I once saw you out running while I was on my bike around the Wakey to Cas canal. Anyway, I just wanted to say well done and don’t lose sight of it. When I was your age, I lost the weight but 18 months later i put it all back on. Since 2019 though, I’ve lost 7 stone, and am down to 13 and haven’t put any back on in those 2 years and the bit that made the difference was that routine of exercise and the knowledge of healthy food - so keep it up and good work. All the best

Heard about this on TSB podcast, so had to check it out. Been on a similar journey myself so can really relate to this. Enjoyed running for years but my atrocious diet and drinking habits held me back from being in good physical shape. Never liked the person I saw in pictures or how clothes felt. Finally decided to make a change and mean it at the start of 2020. Lockdown massively helped. With working from home I set about improving my diet, drinking a lot less and going running every lunch time just to get out. I have stuck to it and the weight has dropped off and I am much happier. I always say to people that I do it as much, if not more, for my mental wellbeing as my physical. Each to their own and whatever works for them of course, just find something that you enjoy and works for you. I go at lunch to split up my day. Whether happy, sad, anxious, stressed.... It always makes a difference and would recommend it to anyone. For me I can think about what has taken place that morning and have a plan for the afternoon. I've never thought of myself as "a runner", just somebody that "goes running"... But I guess I am? Haha. Anyway, enough on me. You've done a cracking job and should be really proud of your achievements so far! It's great and your story shows what can be done and should be an inspiration to others. Keep it up.

What a great documentary. I can actually relate to a lot of this! I was bored of being the fat unhealthy kid, woke up one day and decided I need to make a change. Started eating better, started running and working out, now 9 months later I'm 5 stone lighter and feel great! Feel happier, fitter, healthier and much more confident in myself. And like you I'm not finished yet. I can also finally look at myself and say "I'm not fat" but the person inside still thinks otherwise, even though I've gone from 98kg down to 64kg. I'm now also working on the mentality side of it. Well done on what you've achieved 👍

Colson having a yeezy car freshener is so ironic 😂 if you know the whole “Craig” meme then you know why, all jokes aside what a transformation, an inspiring video for all. Well done and continue the journey.n

Nice work Colson. You said you were doing it for you. That's the single greatest reason to want to do anything in this life. Everyone and everything else in your life will reap the benefits automatically from you changing your life and losing the fat. There's one reason and one reason only why anyone should be motivated to change something about themselves.....and that is to do it for themselves. I've done the same, although my starting point was nowhere as high as yours mate. Stay strong, stay focussed, keep moving forward. Well done and all the best.

Absolutely fantastic and utterly inspiring to watch! I’m a big girl myself and I look in the mirror everyday and break down mentally because I just hate the way I look and how I’ve treated myself lately but watching this has really sparked a fire and has given me a push to do this for myself to make myself not only physically better but mentally as well. Colson you are absolutely amazing keep up the good work 🧡

Colson is me back in 2012-2014 when i used to run and eat healthily. There's no better feeling. I never had time for depression as endorphins were sky high 24/7! For anyone struggling with stress, anxiety or depression please take up cardio. It will make life so much more easier.

I wana not just look healthy but feel healthy and get that motivation and to have a purpose, rather than just thinking sod this and not doing anything

What an amazing transformation and one you should be really proud off. I was fat, 50 and ginger and took up running too. I have managed to loose 6 stones by doing a TDR diet but now trying to find a way to fit food back into my lifestyle. I was the same in that I rewarded myself with food. If I am sad, I eat so I am still not there with my behaviours. I have also taken up running and running my first half Marathon in Manchester in October. Good luck with your continued journey

I've been through the same thing from the age of eight. From a teenager I joined a hiking club and lost my weight walking the length and breadth of the UK.... over a period of a few years . Well done Colson ☺
