My FOX-Affiliated Channel Also Aired This Version Of This Movie Back In 1990. Other Movies With Deleted Scenes Edited Into The Television Versions Are "Blazing Saddles" & "Repo Man". Both Movies That Were Released 10 Years Apart From Each Other Are Worth Checking Out.

Honestly not really, the movie made perfect sense to begin with these scenes make the movie drag the dvd version is better

I believe that part was added in post-production after they decided to edit these scenes out. You can actually see Rudy, Dolores and the Waas Sappenin getting out of the manhole in the middle of the parade.

Couldn’t we just connect the dots in our head? Even the marriage scene doesn’t make sense. In real life, they need paperwork filled, registrations complete, INS papers filed, etc. You can’t just have a priest marry you on the spot to avoid deportation. You see? We don’t need everything explained… we just need to enjoy the movie - because it is a silly flick and not Oppenheimer.

The DVD makers should issue a complete version as a replacement to all the people who purchased this, like a recall for damaged products. Refund or replacement. I just don't get why they would cut parts like like this.

It had to do if I remember, at the time this was made,1987 there was a problem of people doing the same thing they just did get married, and it was taken down because they didn't want to give people the idea, that's all you needed to get married...so it was removed, if memory serves me right..

Except... 1) They showed this version on TV where one could get this information for free. 2) There were characters in sitcoms and dramas during this time period doing exactly this. Getting married and becoming legal resident. I remember one such sitcom where the gag was about the lady feeling uncomfortable about it and wondered if she had to sleep in the same bed. The guy said something like, "look, your bedroom will be here, and mine is WAAAAAAAAY over there" (audience laughs).

It is in fact Chong. This was around the time of their dispute that broke the comedy team apart. Cheech may have wanted Chong to be in the film despite their breakup and was willing to let bygones be bygones, but the only way Chong said he was going to appear in the movie is if it wasn't physically, and at this time, he was not liking Cheech very much at this time. This rivalry would last a good long time. (Even their appearances on an episode of South Park were recorded separately.) Because of their dispute, his picture was the only bit of Chong we ever got to see in Born In East LA, and the only bit Chong allowed Cheech to feature of himself in the film. Had they not separated, Chong may have had more of a role in the film.

Yes it was him. It was like a joke cheech made during the start of their little brawl that lasted years. Sort of a inside joke/pown using him as the jesus picture.

The real tragedy was how he went from being Hollywood's Golden Boy , to a no good ,wife beating drunk , dying broke , crippled ,and alone .

+MichaelBrookham he said nothing about her being a citizen. Typically the spouse of an Citizen becomes a legal resident and can apply for citizenship after 3 years. That marriage wasn't legal yet but all that means is that she wouldn't get deported until the legal certs have been filed.

But don't forget she has to go back to Mexico and get her clothes. Also remember that there is a long drive between Tijuana Mexico and East LA California.

Actually in 1987 when this movie was made, marriage automatically made an immgrant a legal resident. It wouldn't be until 1996 that this automatic legal permanent residency after marriage ended

@SecertTimeWarp As far as between parts 1 and 2, thats it. However, There are a few more deleted/extended scenes. One short extended scene at the very begining when Rudy is talking to his mom. I think there's one at the prison scence too. Sorry, but I never did think about uploaded those other scenes I'm talking about. When I get the chance, I try to upload those few extended scenes.

ambroz palir Not that I know of. Only very few TV versions have this. CBS and Comedy Central have aired the extended and deleted scenes. I've tried to upload a few more extended scenes but RU-vid won't let me.

There is only one other deleted scene in the entire movie, and that's when Rudy went to see Jimmy the night before he returned to LA where he handed him the rest of the quota money to help get him back home. Jimmy offers to take him to a restaurant that served "the best Criadilla in the world" and explained it was bull balls and said that "it eats better than it sounds." Rudy replied with, "Let's have a ball!" Jimmy offers again to celebrate reaching his quota and Rudy immediately accepts the offer. Jimmy then tells Rudy that it was a shame he wasn't staying around and that they could make a lot of money together, to which Rudy makes a silent, disappointed look, showing Jimmy that his mind is made up and he was needing to get back to LA. After that, Rudy pulls out the remainder of his quota and hands it to Jimmy, and from this point, the rest of the scene is what ended up in the theatrical release. They removed the small section of their conversation because it wasn't necessary to have in the movie. We never saw Rudy and Jimmy go off and have dinner together and it wasn't essential to the rest of the story so it remained on the cutting room floor, but included in the televised version to serve as filler to accommodate a 2 hour time slot.
