Born in East LA Deleted Scenes part 1 

The deletion of this entire third act of Born in East L.A. is one of the most head-scratching decisions in all of film history. The movie just isn't the same without it.

my ex husband and i fought for two weeks because he didnt believe me when i told him these parts where missing. saw this at the movies as a kid.

to this day, I can't believe they have not re/released this on dvd with the alternate ending.

wow this actually explains a lot. it informs us about how they got in the sewer. always wondered why they bothered to delete these scenes from the movie.

The bad guy in the cowboy hat is actually Enrique Castillo, who played "Montana" in the movie Blood In Blood Out. Way Cool!!!

man I told people about this deleted scenes and no one believed me.

A special anniversary DVD should be released when this movie turns 30 & these scenes should be included.

BORN IN EAST L.A. still holds up as a very funny movie with a big heart. Too bad Cheech couldn't get any other writing/directing gigs off the ground. Favorite moments: the "waaas sappening" guys, Cheech dead on his feet and falling asleep in what would, in any other movie, be the Big Love Scene, and a thousand immigrants rushing the Border Patrol to the tune of Neil Diamond's "America". Too bad the ending was rushed and cut down so we didn't get the bookend with Jan-Michael Vincent

thanks for posting these. I use to watch this movie on KTLA 5. They played this movie a lot and it always had these ending scenes. I don't understand why they took it out of the movie. It's much better with this ending.

It was cool getting to see these deleted scenes. I recently bought this movie on DVD and it didn't even come with deleted scenes. I always wished it went further past them initially escaping. This was a really underrated movie.

I recently bought this on DVD and still have memories of this longer version shown only on Comedy Central. A similar thing happened to Cheech & Chong's Next Movie. A lot of deleted material seen only on the broadcast version.

He calls his cousin Javier from across the street to bring him his wallet, which he does to pay off the kidnappers. Then la migra storms in, headed by the man in the sunglasses and cowboy hat who had deported Rudy in the beginning. Rudy shows his identification this time to the immigration officer, who says he's going to send Dolores back to El Salvador. Rudy and Dolores make a dash and escape during the East Los Angeles Cinco de Mayo parade. Not knowing where to turn, Rudy and Dolores hop onto the float with a priest; Rudy asks if he can marry them. Rudy and Dolores both look at each other in happiness as they are wed. The immigration officer arrives to place Dolores under arrest. Rudy then explains that they've just been married, making Dolores a legal resident. The crowd, witnessing everything, cheers.

I have this movie recorded, thanks to my dad, from the tv with these scenes and only know it this form. Any cut scenes, in dvd, is just a waste. Keep the original people, lol!

WE ARE REMINISCING BACK WHEN CLASSIC MOVIES HAD A REALISTIC POETIC MEANING AND IT CAPTIVATED US.

I was an extra in this movie. They used me in a lot scenes. Then when the movie came out I appeared on screen for about 1.5 seconds. Hey, I got paid $40 bucks for a day's work.

I still don't understand why the DVD didn't include these or even a full cut including them. Shameful leaving out such gems that make the story more comprehensible & entertaining.

This Was One Of The Mainstream Movies That Got Aired On My FOX-Affiliated Channel Back In 1990. It Never Aired Got On NBC, ABC Nor CBS When It Made Its Television Debut Back In 1990. Memories Of This Comedy When I First Saw It On VHS.

It makes me so mad that they cut a lot of the movie scenes out of the movie. It would make more sense to people watching it, too know why they are climbing out of the sewer in the middle of a parade or see him trying to get across the border. Super funny scenes.

Here is something to note: East LA is a 5 hour drive from Tijuana. It would be a long walk there, too. They must have had a long journey ahead of them. It is a wonder they didn't think that Rudy kidnapped Delores.

12 minutes of the film was not added to the film's release on VHS, and 98/03 DVDs. Could it be political reasons? no directors cut exist with the extended scenes exist, the TV version has the full movie Cheech had envisioned. Sadly I bought the dvd to find this missing and I lost my old VCR recording, so thank you for uploading.

I have to ask this question. How come THIS wasn't the ending to the movie? It would have made more sense, seeings as it is a two-hour drive from Tijuana to East LA. In the actual movie ending, it just shows them walking across the border, and then they come up in the sewers of East LA. This ending they have in this video makes more sense. There was a lot they could have cut out or redid, and then put this scene at the very end.

Cool I been looking for this. Why did they have a alt version? I know some foreign countries don't allow part of movies and they have to make different scenes and what not but why are most the dvd versions just the theater version? Would be nice to have it all ya know both versions on dvd uncut.
