Was hoping to find out how to disassemble an Acoustimass 10 Sub. But, I still enjoyed the education. And a good laugh. “Why did you have to pee on it?” 😂
I used to build speaker cabinets as a hobby. I used real plywood and that Bose cabinet used that particleboard stuff which is very heavy. My Creative GigaWorks T20 Series II lasted 10 years and then stopped working. I don't know what the issue is. But I saved them. I may try to diagnose the problem sometime and get them working as cheap PC speakers.
The reason for the MDF or particle board is , it is a denser material than regular 3/4 BC or equal plywood .... That's the main reason that Amati and Strad made their violins with aged fiddle back AKA Tiger maple and similar maples .... Denser / harder woods make for better sound reflections coming out of the F Holes on the top of the violin ... Same goes for that Bose box and the travel port tunnels coming out of the front ....
@@cajuncoinhunter Thanks. I did not know that. I was just making stuff and didn't really know anything about acoustics or electronics. I didn't even know how to make a crossover. 😊
@@toronado455 I had a Cajun Accordian AKA Mamou Air Compressor LOL. It was made by Sidney Brown in 1953 it was made from Cypress , which is a great wood , but doesn't hold a candle to Cocobolo or any of the hard Maples .... I just had to turn up the amp 1 or 2 notches ......Jr. Martin from Lafayette Louisiana did all my accordian work , he makes some fine accordians .....
I would love to know what capacitors are on that circuit board with the epoxy / resin on top of them .... Bose has a great filtering system .... Panasonic , Nichicon , or Rubycon ??
