VW and every other automaker should be made to not only keep these hard working cars on the road , but to overhaul them, and not solely economically responsible on the civilian's ownership. It's in everybody's general interest to make our roads cleaner, safer, better to live with but also preserving classic machines going productively. Old Beetles, old Citroëns, to Toyota cars in the 2000s that most people are relying on. To give them updates and upgrades that the original automakers engineer. That uncontrolled market arms race in the face of climate destruction Not every VW Golf has to be EV converted. There are some very cool companies like Transition One from France, a "climate company" that does make sustainable, light and affordable 100-140km EV conversions of second hand Fiat 500s and Renault Twingos. The way we throw cars away (which are also history) because of it's a free market if why everything is 🤬 up. We just have to stop that business mindset
