Another fantastic video, Glenn! Thank you very much for your hard work. I am really digging the GT-1000, thanks to your instruction material. For its compact size, iOS app, and - above all - great tone, I think the GT-1000 is a solid contender. I am planning on running the KPA as my main rig, but the GT would be a great go-to mfx/modelling unit, especially when you cannot take much gear with you.

Hi excellent info , with regard the mixers,when I use the GT1000 Core the input is on the right (mono) which side of the loop is Left and which is right ? . I assume that through the rig the signal is mono until you get to the reverb which is stereo ? is this correct. I assume anything with an amp model is always mono yes ?

Thank you Joe, no I have not used MIDI yet in the GT-1000 but i used it extensively in the GT-100 so I would guess the GT-1000 MIDI is just as robust as the 100 and even more so.
Hello Glen you seem to be the master of many Boss multieffects units. I am trying to switch patches on my Marshall JVM410-HJS with my GT1000 using the 4 cable method and can't seem to make it happen. If I use another random midi switcher it will switch the amp then the amp will switch the gt1000. Weird. So I am trying to obviously eliminate the midi controller and just use the GT1000 but the amp will not switch/save presets. Any ideas? Boss won't respond.
Hi Peter, so using a MIDI cable connected from the GT unit to the MIDI IN of the JVM, what you do is 1) set the GT-1000 on a different patch (Not the one you want for the JVM channel), 2) Set the JVM on the channel you want and press the MIDI LEARN button on the front panel of the amp, Once it's blinking go to the GT-1000 and press the preset you want to use for that JVM channel you have set. The MIDI light on the amp should receive the MIDI information and from that point on it should work. Let us know if that works.
OMG Glenn Thanks for your Video!I have the GT 1000 for 2 Days now and just realised that there are Cabinet and Mic Options at the End of the Signal Chain!!! I thought Cabinet Models are fixed in the AIRD Preamps and can't be edited....
IF you select line/phones or recording for output . those Cabs and mic will be there. but if you choose for example katana 100 input or other choices , you can't use the cab and mics .it only works for line/phones and recording output. that's how i see it
For some reason I thought AIRD was all about the cab simulation or at least included/involved it. But here I can see the cab is completely separate and is selectable as part of the output, down at the end of the chain. Is that right?
Hi Glenn, your videos are really fantastic, thank you for them. I am using two paralel amps sims now (on old GT-100), both are on. I can select here different cabs and mics settings on each one and mix it after that back and continue with signal chain etc.... Is it possible to do this on GT 1000? Run two different amps and mics settings using paralel and mix them to one mono FOH input? I am using it, because it brings more powerful sound to me....

Glenn, I play covers in a band... I want to make my rigs to come close to the tones of the songs we play. Once you build the rigs, can you arrange a list of the rigs in sequence as your list? Headrush has a feature like that, it would be great if the GT 1000 had that too. I ve looked in the manual but the one online doesnt mention it. do you know?
Joss, I got my GT 1000 3 days ago and have been looking for the answer to that same question. I believe I found it. In order to do that you have to press the write button and then when the menu comes up, go to the second icon - "Exchange". It will ask you where you want to place the patch. What ever is there will be moved to the location where you created your patch or at the end of the user patches. You just have to choose the bank where you want to exchange and insert your patches. Hope this helps.
Hello! Help me pleace !!! No work function - Keeping Effect Sounds Playing After Patches Are Switched -reverb, delay, (Patch Change Mode) on my BOSS GT-100
Quick general question: I love your vids, Glenn! I have been playing pretty much old school equip. for over 40 years and as I transition to new stuff I still find a great deal of "noise" when I create hot a lead tone. The worst is when I run Amplitude 4 on my Mac with Steve Vai types of tones. I guess I figured that this hiss and noise would have been sorted out in this digital world and that a noise gate would be a thing of the past. So, is a unit like this any "cleaner" than the ones of the past... like Guitar Rig, Amplitube, Line 6 or other multi effects units? I welcome any insight from you or your subscribers. I now live in a rural area and can't test before buying.
I'd say it is!! I can get so much gain from this unit, it's as much as you could ever need but I think it comes down to one thing, and this is very important!! You have to learn how to "Control the Beast". That means alot of things!! Volume knob control, Damping technique and picking technique. Your sound can be as tame or as wild as you want it to be!! But the control is in your hands and playing technique. Not what your playing through. That's my experience as player that's been playing professionally with tube amps since 1975. That's a long time and I've been through many many amps & cabs. You just have to learn your sound and learn how to control it!!

After all of those old Marshall Super Leads, Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Faces, buzzing old Strats and the like, you certainly needed to hand on tight and hope you weren't standing in a puddle :) I just want to be sure that I'm getting into a unit that is about as clean as is available these days. At this age it might be the last thing of this type that I buy so I may as well get the best one available. I don't want to mic my amps so this sounds like a great way to go for direct input. Hey Glenn. Sorry for all the questions but I'm not having luck on the vguitar forum. Lol. One thing I'm noticing about the GT is the limited drive blocks (2) and the singular reverb block. I want to use the tera echo and shimmer together but cant because of the single block. Am I missing something or doing something wrong? My hope is that Boss opens up more blocks in their next update.

assume what you are doing here is working in manual Glenn. Is there a reason why you simply save each of those different sounds as a pre-set in a bank ?
i want to ask about the delay tap ... i try to set the delay and i want know how the delay time have same time if i change the preset. the condition now if i use preset number 2 and i tap the delay then i change the preset to number five its the diferent time ... can you help me .. thx a lot Mr Glen
I am running the 4 cable method with gt1000 and a mark 1 5150. I have all the cables in the right place and I also have a trs cable running from the amp control of the gt1000 in order to change channels on the 5150 (Channel select and FX loop off/on). This cable is going into the 'remote switch' at the rear of the 5150. The clean channel seems to work ok... However when I switch to drive channel I loose the effects through the loop. So the switch must be turning the FX loop off on the amp at the same time? I have tried changing the amp control parameters on the gt1000 but I have not had success yet. Also... I cannot seem to control the clean volume at all. It is set at a certain volume and will not change with either pre or post gain. Gain volume is fine... No issues. Appreciate that I could fix this by using the 5150 channel changer, but I am trying to contain everything in the gt1000 pedal. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Glenn DeLaune I like elixir cause they last a long while. But I bought a few of the nano webs few years ago was breaking strings left and right so went back to my EBs. I'm an Ernie ball guy, such a highly polished string and now that they've switched their packaging, are lasting a long time. I guess it's just what I was raised on? Sir, perhaps you could be so kind to help me. I'm struggling with using the looper on gt1000. I'm used to using an independent looper So i can loop creating switching through multiple presets. I'm having trouble doing this on gt1000. Generally I like to loop using a vast amount of patches. Do I really have to program the looper into every Patch i want to use? This is tedious. Wish there was a global setting something can use the looper easily with all patches. Ya know...like to lay some clean rhthym, dub with some harmonics, octave chording with a different patch, then hi gain solos with yet another...how do I keep all the looper fucnctions through all the patches? With the gt1000 I just go to present 50 (looper clean) to be able to use the looper...surely there has to be a way to use the looper with all the patches, regardless of which path is programmed to use the looper? When I'm at present 50 - clean looper patch... I lay down a rhythm, switch patches to which the loop is still playing, but i loose looper function and can no longer over dub, etc. Glenn, Any advice on how to use the looper more universally and easily? Man I can't remember the last time I broke a string. It's been years I guess. Sometimes I actually try to break them with some ridiculous bends but my strings just won't break. I don't know why. Wish I could help about the looper but that's not my thing. Besides you only get like 39 seconds I think. You'd be better off using an external looper pedal. Thank you Sir.

Hi Glenn, I took the plunge and upgraded to the GT-1000, how do you turn the speaker simulators/mics on and off? I'm using it on headphones when away from my power amp and can't find them, so my sound through cans is awful. I'm trying to programme the unit ready to use with my band. They show up on the app but are greyed out.
@@GlennDeLauneOfficial thanks Glenn, I had it set to line/phones. They ought to put it in the user manual really to set it there then press 'right page' button when you get to the outputs. Awesome unit, not surprised many people shy away from it though, it is very complex, made easier by having programmed the 10 and 100 before it though.

OK Glenn ! and the GT1000 direct in FR-FR speakers, do you know how it sounds ? for this configuration, I think that "Recording" must be selected in the Output IARD litst ...
Believe it or not, I use the 8x12 cab. Yoshi himself was in front of my rig at NAMM in Nashville last year where I demoed the GT-1000 for Boss. We were going through my patches and he tried all of the cab options for the BCA. He went right back to what I has it set on which was the 8x12 and we all agreed that sounded the best.

Can you confirme me the "IARD Output Select" that you always use for the live is the "Recording" Output ? as you use your personal settings for the speakers, I think it can not be another choice ... that's right ? In my case and for live, I want to connect my GT1000 on the return effects loop of my amp (Peavey Bandit 112 - not a tube amp). But when I select "tube combo 112" in the IARD Output Select list, the sound is bad, too bright and without bass ... And I don't find a sound I like with the other choice of IARD Output. So I'm looking for a new setting to have a better sound. Perhaps selected "Recording" and parameter my own speaker as you did it I think ... Thank's in advance for your help Glenn ! Best regards
Can somebody please tell me how to access the mic editing speaker cabinet editing page because I have tried and tried and tried and for the life of me I can't figure it out. And of course that dinky manual doesn't tell you Jack@#$!!!!
Hi Tim, you have to set the speaker type to anything other than the default which is "Original". Change it to "Recording" and that will let you edit the speaker settings.
Great Video!!! Any CPU usage issues with all the effects running? I sold my AX8 last fall due too just that problem. Looking forward to those custom patches!!
AndersonCustomGuitar BOSS designs all of their products to be able to run all the effects blocks that are available at once. They don't like their designs to run into CPU limitation issues.
@@aaronkaaimarino That is a huge plus that you dont have to worry about running out of DSP, im a long time Boss modeler user (20 years, Boss stompboxes almost 35 years) It didnt really occur to me that there was any other way until i saw some of the other units not that long ago.
All I know is that the presets are all at wildly different volumes. Some are very light and others are loud as shit. It's a nightmare to figure out also. I think you need an engineering degree just to get a good chain of five sounds on one bank.

Can you do some videos playing live with your modeling equipment? I think a lot of people would like to hear that. All of your videos that you do these doubles all sound good and the recordings are direct love them. However, for me I don’t like any patches going live. I’ll plug in direct and also monitor my song with the Yamaha dxr 10. I just can’t find with it so I go back to my regular amp rig. Thanks
