Thanks Alex I was told by the shop that sold the SY to me that I could use it without the GK pickup but very I can see to get the full use I do indeed need the GK. I was just about to call them because I couldn't get a signal form the outputs Thanks!

Thank you for posting this. The other videos AND BOSS are VERY deceiving in that 95% of the patches dont even work without a GK pickup. You can alter all of the patches to just use the guitar but you literally have to individually edit EACH F#CKING PATCH! Its a pain in the @$$

First, just want to say thanks for demoing this thing. I've been looking for some sort of synth sound to add to my setup, but with the SY-1000's built in guitar effects and amp sims... this might be good enough to replace my entire board. Would love to see you do a video on just the guitar effects side (which I know you're working on) because, let's be honest, who wants to spend $1000 just for an add-on gimmick? I *do* wish it had XLR outs and a stereo fx loop, though... that was a very poor choice on Roland's part to leave them out.

Thanks for the video! If I were to use SY-1000 only with a jack (no RK), is there any advantage over SY-300 or even SY-200 besides the user interface / more buttons? That Ibanez guitar looks sick btw!

Hey great demo. I have a question about routing. I see we have 2 sets of outputs Main and Sub. they look to be movable. Can you do a demo about routing outputs for different instruments to different systems ie Channel Strips on a mixer or mixer and Amp or mixer and 2 amps etc or Mxer, monitor and two amps. Would love to see how that is done. And what are Dividers etc

Exactly the video and info I was looking for. But I have a question: Is it possible to have the guitar signal chain only, synth only... I currently use a GT-1 + SY-300; the way I connect them, I can get GT-1 sounds only, SY-300 sounds only and combined sounds (GT-1 + SY-300) - I use an EV-5 to control the level of the SY-300 in the output mix. Can I do something similar with the SY-1000? FWIW, I also use a GP-10 with my GK instruments. Seems the SY-1000 can do it all!

Hi there Is great video. I want to ask u something about the vg8 future, Is that doable on sy1000. In vg8 i can get quarter tones on specific notes, ( arabic scale ) Is that possible on boss sy 1000 with that harmonists future or tuning. Thnx

Hello, I'm thinking of replacing my "Boss SY-300 + guitar multi-effect unit" with a Boss SY-1000 without GK/hexa pickup. The main reason is a compact all-in-one solution with easy patch switching management (patch banks, no need to use MIDI, etc.) I have 2 basic questions: - Does the SY-1000 without GK (Dynamic Synth only) offer at least the same capabilities and sound quality as the SY-300? - Is the quality of the "guitar AMP/effects section" in the SY-1000 comparable to the Boss GT-1000? Hey... can both analogue and GK inputs be used at the same time? I am trying to use the GK3 input... then send the clean signal to the Kemper stage... and use the SY-1000 on the FX loop of the Kemper... What is not clear to me is what does the Kemper FX send connect to on the SY-1000 Thanks in advance

Can anybody tell me how to use the tuner with the jack input? It works with gk, but not with the standard guitar input.

Meh> tried using the GK pickup and it's not that great I think Boss made a big mistake making this a GK pickup unit They should of made it like the SY-300 only more advanced step-up. You're better off going with the SY-300 with AB/Y switch with the GT-1000 I am returning it. So stupid 1499 here in Canada wtf? Why did they prioritize this unit with the GK system? Most Acoustics have built-in pickups. The GK pickup reminds me of one of those late 70's Acoustic pickups lmao 2 way tape it near the bridge LOL Too bad liked step-up features from the SY-300 but this GK system throws this unit off I guess another way around it would be to buy a GK modified guitar They should of sold this with the GK system included. I had to buy the GK Pup then the GK cable on top of that all sold separately. 1499.99 plus 229.99 for the GK Pup AND another 86.00 or 115.00 for the GK cable disappointed in Boss this time!
