Lonnie i am in the middle of a 34 square job on my house and my nailer started leaking. I pulled up your video, ordered the part and got my nailer repaired. Thank you for saving me $200 and more importantly a boat load of frustration. Thanks again, Chris.
Gotta say thanks for this and the vendor recommendation. If he isn’t giving you a break on parts, he’s crazy. Ordered this while watching your video one night and woke up the next day to it already being on the way. Thanks for this!
Wish you did atv repair - one of the best repar videos I've seen. Seriously- got right to the point. Great up close video. Thanks again, you saved me a lot of time and swearing 😂
Thanks for posting this video! I'm rebuilding my Bostitch N66C-1 coil gun because it just quit working yesterday. I thought it was just jammed but it turned that when it shot the last nail the drive rod didn't retract. I pushed it back up and put a nail in the driver channel and as soon as I connected the air it fired that nail. I thought maybe the trigger valve was stuck in the fire position so I found this video and ordered a trigger assembly that I'll get tomorrow. I found some broken plastic parts in cylinder so the trigger valve probably may not be the only cause of the problem I have. The reason for my comment is that I couldn't remove the trigger switch with air pressure. It has two pins in it! One at at the top and one at the bottom. I couldn't get the trigger valve out even with both pins removed because there isn't enough clearance in front of it. I had to remove two pins from the fastener control assembly to be able to wiggle it out.
I'd say trying to re-lube your existing valve first before buying a new one will probably work if the O-rings are in good shape. I looked at this video first to ensure I took it apart correctly first. Put some more lube on the O-rings and reassembled. Works fine now. One difference is air was not by-passing by just hooking up air. My issue was that air by-passed when the trigger was pulled, otherwise it was quiet. Thanks for the video explanation.
Just doing mine up too. I like that little crate hammer you used. I picked one up at an estate sale and our use it every day. Everyone always says where’d you get that weird little hammer it’s cool to see another guy have one
@@LonnieJohnson1 mine is doing the same thing I took it to a repair shop and the next day I picked it up and the told me nothing was wrong with the nailer I took it to work and it didn't work I went back to the repair shop and I told them and the guy plugged it in and it was worth like a champ the guy put a full roll of coil nails and fire all of them like nothing but again at work is not firing I don't know what the problem is
Thanks for this excellent how to video pal. This gun you are working on is apparently very much like the Central pneumatic (harbor freight) model number 68024.
The really annoying part is that inside that trigger mechanism there is a clear “O” ring. That’s what failed in mine but I can’t buy just the special “O” ring so I have to pay nearly $50 in Australia for the whole valve. 🤬🤬🤬🤬 Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺
I took my bostitch roofing coil nailer to the repair shop 4 times because it wasn't firing the nails and they tell me there's nothing wrong with the gun at the repair shop works great fires perfect then I take it to my job and it doesn't fire the nails I can't figure it out 🤬🤬🤬
You should take it to them again and let them show you that it works, and if it works see what they are doing different from the way you are trying to get it to work.
Sorry about that but indoors I just don't have the right lighting, outdoors I use the sunlight. I will see what I can do in the future to make it better. Thanks
Awww poor you. If you don’t have anything constructive to say, STFU. I’m grateful to the man for taking the time and effort to put this out there for people. Why not try a little gratitude instead of complaining that it’s not a Steven Spielberg production.
