Boston - Something About You Recorded Live: 6/17/1979 - Giants Stadium - East Rutherford, NJ More Boston at Music Vault: Subscribe to Music Vault on RU-vid: goo.gl/DUzpUF
By far the best musicians and vocalist out there and that will ever be. Sholtz is a musical genious. They may not have put out as many albums as other bands, but they put out far more "master pieces"! Live on Boston, you are a very big player in American Music History and you earned it!!!!!
"Let's see how many people remember this one",in 1979.....there were 8 songs on the album and they were all beautiful.Yeah,I remember this one.In 2024.
I don't care what anyone says..., BOSTON is one of the hardest fuckin' rockin' bands in the history of music! One of the first rock bands I got into. BEAUTIFUL MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!! TIMELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude! Green and orange crushed velvet slinky bellbottoms, and matching vest/hoodies, forget the layered guitars, layered harmonies, custom made amps/pedals, yet another reason Boston ruled the rock scene in the late '70s.
2:40.....when he says "it isn't easy" and you expect the other to start singing but the guitar cuts through the air like a knife...........that just kills me with its energy!
Brad Delp did all the lead & harmony vocals on the records, so it was no mean feat for the rest of the band to get anywhere near that vocal sound. It isn't easy, I kno-o-o-o-whoa, to sing good as 5 Brads, boys...
Don't care what anyone says, this is the most underrated band of all time. Their dual harmonics were on another level, and they were flawless when they played live. It's so hard to think about Brad, when you see how happy he was on stage. Rest in Peace man, also one of my favorite lead guitarists of all time.
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED BOSTON!SINCE I WAS AROUND 8,IM NOW 50! THEY HAVE GREAT HARMONY!A KILLER SOUND THAT TO THIS DAY NOBODY CAN COME CLOSE TO. & VERY UNDERATED!ESPECIALLY THIS SONG!
Got to see this show when I was 17, went with 2 friends had the shitty seats way up top, The line up was Todd Rundgren and Utopia, Poco, and the Outlaws. It was called the Festival at the Meadowlands. So this is how it went down the day started out cloudy with rain coming down by the end of Pocos set then full on downpour during the Outlaws. Took a break while setting up Boston by the time they hit the stage and opened with R&R Band and the Sun came out, best part was lots of people left which aloud us to move to Great seats. I have been to hundreds of shows in my life and this one I will remember forever. I thank whoever has this footage of one of the most Iconic Rock bands ever ( still not in R&R hall.. Bullshit), you all should show your children what musical talent is right here.
This looks and sounds great! This show should be released on DVD. There is so little live Boston footage available. They never released anything live. Thanks!
I would give my left arm and right leg to be able to go back in time and be there at this concert.... in love with Brad's voice! And, the man was quite beautiful inside (and out) too. You are greatly missed Brad.
NO you wouldn't. I'd love to have been there too, but with only one arm and one leg, life would suck, and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't pay that price no matter how good the concert was!! LOL Just think... you couldn't walk, or play guitar... and you couldn't play baseball either (among other things). I mean seriously, you're being a little emo here, don't you think?? :O)) Agree though, they were awesome.
Yea...OK..I was very emo on that one....but Boston brings it out in me. Probably would give...a fingernail and a toe (the small one)? Yea? Just would REALLY have loved to be there. :)
Like everybody else here, I love these guys - and I always will. Still gutted that I will never get to see them (or Brad) live, ever. RIP Brad 🙏The amazing man with the amazing voice that just complemented that guitar (thanks Tom) so very exquisitely 🤩 So many bands etc never come to Australia to play, and it's just no fair 😪
Boston, the ultimate rock band, they blow you away with their great lyrics, instrumentation and Brads amazing vocals, Fran on bass is awesome. They kicked it off in 76 with more than a feeling and have rocked their way to stardom ever since
Si si basilio Eduardo Ponce Quinta Delp Ed muy excelente cantar de canciones. Muy jente gusta el. Yo soy grande persona por senor Delp. Gracias por noticias en Espanol.
Like many, loved Boston, so lucky to see them in the Orlando O-rena around 1994. S.A.Y. is one of my favorite songs of theirs, done well here, although on the recorded release the final harmonys are freaking brilliant. Difficult to replicate live I would imagine.
Boston will always be a favorite for me I was a teenager saw them many times such great memories it was a fun time back then. This was always my favorite song. Tom did destroy the band, Barry Goodreau is great I love his solo stuff hes done. His song DREAMS is badass. RIP Brad you had a fantastic voice.
My favorite Boston song and it brings back my college days like it was yesterday. Its too bad Tom Schulze and Barry Gordy couldn't solve their differences while Brad Delp was still alive. Delp was always caught in the middle and would perform and record with both and you have to wonder if it didn't contribute to Delp's problems that led to his death.
I can't say about Sid. There was a lot of speculation of the other members also back in the day, who wanted just to go out and play and Schulze refused to and I think he held the rights to the Boston name. I do know that for the most part the other members got on with their own lives. If you know anymore I would be glad to know.
After the second album it became the Tom Scholtz band. Never the same. But if you want to hear something close to it, one of Brad Delps last recording with Barry Goudreau, called Rock'in Away. Look it up, sounds like an old Boston song. Great song!!!
Man.... The memory's Boston brings back. Such a much better more simple times. All of Boston's songs are so positive, uplifting and represents what music is supposed to be..... Now it's all about being thugs and whores.
Sitting here battle towards the end of catching covid and its been a long 2 weeks of hell praying Jesus to strengthen me . This song popped up on my mind and here i am Dec 5th 2021 listening to the magic of Boston and Brads voice . Taking me man back to a world i once knew in my mind and i miss like crazy that'll never be again. Just want to hold on to it and i don't want to open my eyes for awhile.. Anyone else understand ? ✌
Brad Delos edge came out in his technique, he was a music genius but he never found his true rock outlet through the music he played and sang, there’s so much bottled pressure, Boston does lack edge, but something about you is bold and confident and gives a tastes, Brad Delp was nuts, he went nuts live
People have no idea how good this ACTUALLY is. You’re listening to a board mix. No ambience, no help whatsoever aside from a few effect returns...straight electrons to tape. Every band and I mean every band sounds absolutely godawful this way. Sounding even mildly passable via the board mix means you’re a monster band with a great front of house engineer...and these guys, warts and all, still sound awesome.
