Jeux is a very touchy score, probably one of the most advanced of Debussy. It is not often played. Boulez offers a splendid rendition to us, letting us hear the mystery of his construction. It is a pity to have cut the interpretation by an interview of Pierre Boulez, vary interesting indeed, but which could have been gathered before the staarting of the music.
@@davidmcmurray9933 Dear friend, that"s RU-vid !!!!!! Either you pay, r h you have to suffer from these commercial practices, even in such masterwork which are the work conducted by Boulez and very subtelr Boulez' comments !!! Such aggressive commercial practices are not compatible with our musical education and culture, but as well with what is music indeed. Do you imagine the most sacred works by JSB interrupted by an avertissement about a "revolutionary" toothpaste? My God.... do they use toothpaste in Paradise?
Pierre Boulez wrote an important book on music analysis, "Notes of an Apprenticeship." Well worth looking at. Ways to relook at what many composers did.
Boulez's important comments on the use of rubato in this piece could easily have been used in the interview not as an overlay as the goddamn piece is playing. Common critique of this piece but this is a very good performance and sad that it was edited so. His comments are important but not more important than the music.
not sure if anyone gives a damn but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can stream all of the latest series on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my brother recently =)
Jeux fait musique de film, par moments - précisément par son côté momentané, décousu, enchaînement de micro-suspenses. Cette impression anachronique résulte probablement d'une influence sur les compositeurs Hollywoodiens de la grande époque.
