This is one of the best RU-vid review videos I’ve ever seen. Incredible job being complete yet succinct. Helped me make my decision to get the S2s. Keep making videos brother…you have a gift!
Great review! I like how you compare them with other Headphones and point out strengths and weaknesses. You really put a lot of work into your reviews and it shows.
I think the person who was in charge with the wear sensor design of these headphones (and really, the last two iterations of these) should be FIRED. Bowers and Wilkins, GET IT TOGETHER. 🙄
Perfect review and it will definitely help anyone planning to buy one of these. Although I went through this video after I bought a PX7 for around 240$ in Sep 2022 in Best Buy. Awesome headphones for the price. I hope to find some digital eq software or DAC which might improve bass of these headphones. It would have been great if you have reviewed the inbuilt DAC performance when connected through USB-C connection.
I bought the qc45s but at the same time the S2s went on sale for Christmas and I got them and once I tried them I sent the QC45s back. These are just much better aside from comfort. But I love that the usb-c cable can be used as a passthrough for music
Thanks for this review, I appreciate it. I am considering buying these headphones, but at the same time I have also looked at the Beoplay HX. I don’t know if you have those headphones anymore, but I know you did a review on them sometime ago, and therefore you have tried both these headphones. Do you have any initial thoughts about which one is the best? I am mainly listening to acoustic music, and to me audio is more important than noise canceling. I know these are both excellent choices, but how would you consider them a part?
When the Tone control is set in the app, is the changed stored in the headphone and still there when the headphones are turned off and on? Also is the mid bass extension still just as much as the PX7? I'm looking for something simular in sound to ths original PX for example.
Gymcaddy, you’re starting to become THE channel to go to for audio. You’re doing such a great job man. As someone who loves audio as well, i always look forward to your reviews before purchasing an equipment. Thank you!
These are great headphones. The only thing I don't like is that the buttons aren't the easiest to find when the headphones are on your head. The noise canceling is very good, but not Airpod Max level. The bass goes deep without being boomy, and the instrument separation is very good. The headphones are comfortable too. I love these headphones and the Airpod Max! I also love Marshall headphones in general, but the ones I bought both had an issue where the clips that connect the headband to the ear cups become very loose and keep coming out easily after dropping them once! Maybe the newer Marshall headphones don't have that issue now, but the Marshall Mid ANC and the Monitor 1 both had the same issues.
Please reply, I used to use a pair of studio 2 wireless beats by dre on ear headphones and absolutley loved them. I'm considering getting the px7 s2's. Did you ever have a listen to the beats studio 2 wireless cans and would you consider the b&w cans to be a better product for sound and battery life? (not between charges, but overall battery life). Thanks!
I certainly like the looks of the S2 over the original PX7! But, I think I'll stick with my PX7's and wait for the next generation, a PX8? Question, can the PX7 use the new app. for the PX7 S2 (I'm guessing no)? Wow, downgraded ANC on the new one, what a difference! Can a software update fix this? Great comparison and overall review!!!
Say what about the ANC? I have both the PX7 carbon and the PX7 S2s.. and I think the Px7 S2s block out more noise on high setting than the PX7s..but that's me. they also sound better than the px7 carbon too.
I was totally gonna buy these but the dealbreaker for me was that they 1. didn't have an aux port which is just lazy imo 2. can't be used without the battery being on even with the included usb c to aux adapter
Bro. Plzz suggest a good over ear headphones 🎧 under $100 ( Affordable). For: Long time use , No itching near ear, And a good quality coz I love music 🎶.
Can we talk about B&Ws brain dead idea of launching a new app for every PX model of headphones they release? Can they not stick to one and add features and refine it like every other manufacturer?
@@CDPA7 funny because that just proves the opposite. Usually when people have tons of money to spend they will nit pick every little detail and complain about the smallest things. Also, the app situation isn't a big deal itself but that just raises concerns about the company itself
Air pods max now in belgium €559,95. and I don't like the ear cushions on the airpod max that sit on my ears. Sony's b&w and xm5 are better for me. I was able to buy my XM5 Sony for 305 euros in Belgium last year and this week on Black Friday I was able to buy the Px7 S2 for 199 euros, which is very cheap here ;). And I am very satisfied with it. I think the sound is a bit better than the xm5. The xm5 is just that little bit better on your ears, but the b&w is also very good. I enjoy both headphones, but I have a slight preference for the px7 s2. That airpod max is overpriced. Just buy the px7 s2 or the px7 se 2 or the new px8.
So they went back to the original PX earcup design. Never liked the look of PX7, just looked cheap. Now I feel like my 5 year old PX headphones look new again.
Hey, I'm Varun from India, will u please review oppo enco x2 with SM3 and xmr, coz many r saying that oppo enco x2 is more superior then these 2, will u please help me out
I know the XM4s have cons, same with all premium headphones but the cons mentioned here just make me not want to buy them, I use my headphones for gaming, calling, music, etc, no headphone jack, that's wack, simple Equilizer, not really my type of headphone.
Hi Peter, The PX7S2 supports aptx bluetooth codex for android users, which surpasses the AAC of iphone users in terms of high res playback. In short - even higher res if you have an android than with the previous PX7.
Love the headphones hate their Android app.. anybody had any success with installing it on Androi 13 yet??! I got success on Android 12, yet on my Android Samsung S22Ultra no luck (yet). Debating to keep them or return back to Amazon... They sound as close to Apple Max as it gets, with slightly less sound separation, yet much better than QC45.. They have more 'wet base' (similar like Apple Max) as oppose to 'boom box dry base' of QC45 (there is time when I prefer QC45's base for certain type of music) yet that 'dry base' can be achieved close enough on PS2 via EQ.. I love how they handle wind noise (simply by switching mics off ), and how they handle 'on call' reducing EFECTIVELY background noise... To bad Android 13 industry killed their software.. I postulate they are the best on market at this point for this price (I paid $325+tax of Amazon). My hope is they would deliver something I could install and use on my phone to get extra features, but it's not a deal braker not having that in few month . I think if they are able to deliver app they will kill literaly their competition with this product. I found them by coincidence having same companies audio in my car - yeah, expensive, but Volvo XC90 has that Premium set with 1400W and sounds just amazing.. PS2 is no different (this product for this price, I'm not obsessed with PX8 for doubled price). Another issue is how to run them on Windows 11 via Bluetooth as via usb cable they are just running without problems. Any idea, help?? I'd greatly appreciate, thx.
This reviewer seems bias since he said AirPods Max sound better then PX7 S2 which is absolutely unreal... Even XM5 sound better then AirPods Max. And PX7S2 are definitely better then XM5... Which shows how ridiculous is the statement that AirPods Max sound better then S2...
I have never seen a review saying the XM anything sound better than the AirPods Max….they have better ANC , yes…but almost every reviewer I have seen says the XM sound muddy and lacking soundstage and clarity vs the AirPods..it’s not only about the ANC
@@lucasflater2 I haven’t tried the XM5 personally but I have seen several comments about the sound being muddy and not as detailed and clear as the APM
