I have Quiet BPD (some call it high-functioning) and am in the middle of a BPD episode (Borderline Personality Disorder. Thought I'd talk about it. I also talk a little bit about how my BPD episodes affect my DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder).
Definitions:
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) - a pervasive pattern of instability of interpersonal relationships, self-image, and affect, and marked impulsivity.
BPD Episode - a period of extreme emotion and exacerbation of BPD symptoms.
Splitting (in BPD) - The cycle of idealization and devaluation.
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) - a cluster of mood symptoms that recur in the week leading up to menses, with symptoms ceasing at the onset of menstruation.
Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) - disruption of identity characterized by two or more distinct personality states AND recurrent gaps in the recall of everyday events, important personal information, and/or traumatic events inconsistent with ordinary forgetting. symptoms are not a result of accepted cultural or religious practices, or the use of substances.
Alter - distinct personality state in DID. Alters can have different personalities, beliefs, and tastes from one another.
Inner World - the inner experience that some people with DID have in which alters may lead lives that are separate from the outside world.
