This is something that my orthodontist shud have done.. Instead he has pushed back my teeth n made it go inside the upper jaw of mine.. If I can convey thru this to others.. Plz be careful wen u choose an orthodontist for ur treatment asking questions n be careful he doesn't end up ur case like me😒☹️☹️

Thank you Dr. Greg! I still have my open spaces from my extractions of teeth #5 & #12. I don't know what my ortho will use to close the gaps but this looks interesting. We'll see at my next appointment on 01/09/19.
Love your videos. I am very frustrated with my ortho. He said there is nothing else he can do for my teeth because I am in the thickest damon wire. One tooth now sticks out after he fixed another on the other side. He never used elastics or ipr only wire exchanges. I am not happy and do not want my braces off until its fixed but he says he won't try anything else. I am 43 and paid a lot of money. What should I do?
Tanja Momo this is absolutely horrible service. An orthodontist should always try to give you a perfect smile especially since you’re paying around $6,000! I’m only 12 so I’m not exactly sure how these things work, but I would tell him you will either have a refund or a perfect smile. Of course it won’t be that easy, but I’m not sure what to do because LEAPING LIZARDS that is a tight spot. That is not good and I am very sorry that is happening to you. ☹️
Tanja Momo definitely as you have done, go and see someone else for a second, even third opinion. I did this as my orthodontist said he wanted to take my braces off but I wasn't happy with the result as the teeth didn't look straight at all. So taking action, I went to see a well respected orthodontist in London for his opinion and he looked at it and said all my teeth were in the wrong position so I switched to him and he had to correct the mistakes. Should have sued the previous orthodontist but I didn't. Never settle for second best when you are paying. If something doesn't feel right, seek out another opinion and always see the before and after photos of the orthodontists work.
Would love to know how you would address a narrow lower jaw with severe crowding of 23 thru 26, and HUGE tori that almost touch in the middle in a 56 yr old braces patient. In particular, would you / can you use an expander?
Currently have the t loop. I feel like I'm dying slowly and deactivating the wire and painkillers don't work. Been eating yogurt and even that is killing me
Do the loops only pull the front teeth back or the back teeth forward also? The Gap in my teeth is quite big and I‘m worried that my teeth will move so far back, that my face appears sunken in and the space in my mouth will become to small for my tongue to lie comfortably

I am new to closing loops. My ortho had tried with a lot of power chains initially, and switched to loops. We are waiting for this tiny space to close. Could I need them more than one visit?
Hey Dr Greg! Once your spaces are closed do you get the loops removed or do you need to keep them on for the rest of your treatment? And after the loops what is used to help the spaces closed?

Haha Hi Jorja! Don't be scared, you're going to do great! I usually recommend solid colors so that the stain doesnt show.. My personal favorite used to be black because it made my teeth look white! I sometimes miss comments on here so make sure to post on myortholife.com so that I dont miss it & others can chime in too!
What is your opinion on baby teeth. If there isn't a tooth under it, are there cases were yes, they should be removed and cases where they can stay? How is that determined? Or is it clinical need or preference, or depends!?
It really is on a case by case basis. The roots of the baby teeth, the prognosis of the tooth, the age of the pt, etc. I would recommend you see a local orthodontist for a consultation so that they can evaluate the best treatment plan for you!

hi Doc.. Doc my question is my two canine tooth in upper front teeth is to wide then I have partial dentures in upper front teeth is 5 because when I still have those tooths in upper is big and has space each one of them so when those teeth is retract the partial dentures that they replaced is 5 now I decide to have braces so that the canine will be position in the right place because it's also overjet and then now what happened is far from what I expected

That's great! Usually it takes several months depending on your crowding, the orthodontists mechanics and your particular body (the most important factor!) so it is very difficult to estimate!
Question, my orthodontist placed two closing loops in the upper arch wire. For the exact reason I do not know as I had no teeth extraction. However, I notice that my front teeth are not being pulled back. The orthodontist mentioned that the arch wire moved my front teeth already somewhat backwards, but pulling fully backwards will not be achievable. I’m doubting, but Ye....I’m not an orthodontist.
Hi Doc, how about if there's a Fix Bridge? i got my braces on, but i have fix bridge in molar part. as per my dentist, i have to have 2 teeth extracted as i have overbite. Will my fixbridge be affected?

Dr. I have a hard time doing 018 SS stopped wires🙈,I can do the loops I just cant get the loop on one side to be mesial to the 6, the loop will move to like the distal of the 5! Any advise?

Hi I was hopeing u could help me. I have my front teeth impacted and they told me it’s better to leave it up there since I’m 31 and haven’t had problems. That and cause it’s close to my nose and turned all the way around. Also had a baby teeth that they took out on top too. My question is I have to have an implant is it better to put the implant were. They took my baby teeth or can I put it were my front teeth should be. Can I do that with my front tooth impacted? And I’m getting braces.
Is there a particular reason why the doctor would use power chain over 6 of my front bottom tooth instead of continuous? I had 4 extractions at d start. The ones behind my canines

i just got an open coil spring put in behind my high canine teeth between the two next to it on both sides. one spring is straight between the two teeth the orthodontist put it between, while the other in curved outwords, but is still connected to the two teeth the orthodontist placed it between. Is the spring that is curved working or should i go to my ortho and have it checked out?
I have the spring part on either side of my bottom teeth, where I'm missing my 1st molars, but I don't have the little loop. At checkups my ortho curls the spring up tighter (from what I can tell). He says the two sides serve as anchorage points to each other. It obviously works, as the gap on my right side is pretty much completely closed and the one on the left side is also significantly smaller, but I still don't quite get the logic behind how it works. What you just explained with the little closing loop makes perfect sense, but how does this work without the loop?
Oh I think you're referring to IPR or interproximal reduction. Its used to make your teeth a bit slimmer and more anatomically correct. Its used to make a little bit of space that your orthodontist needs to align your teeth
