+Zumbi Dos Palmares Yeah it was their local shows, around 93, 94, 95. I don't know if that was the case earlier in their career, but when I was going to their shows, even a few that they were headlining they never showed up. In all four occasions they didn't show, the promoter or club owner would make excuses, like they were on their way or something, one hour, two hours, would pass and nothing, 2 of the four times this resulted in damage to the venue by disgruntled fans. Note that all three of these were in smaller venues, 2 being "The Waters Club" in San Pedro. Could've been miscommunication between promoters, managers, and band members, or with their rising could've been advised to not do them, or what I think, Brad may have been too fucked up, and decided not to perform. It seems if it was another reason the promoter would've been informed and patrons reimbursed the cost of the tickets. That's gotta be a promoters worst nightmare, club full of punk rockers and the band they came to see a 'no show'.

It looks like those dates line up with Brad's heroin years so yeah I wouldn't be surprised if you're onto something with that theory. yeah, unfortunately the first time I was there to see another band they were they supporting act, which was changed at the last minute, so that one was probably not exactly a no show. The next time was the Water's Club San Pedro, the third I can remember what venue it was, only that it was local to the Long Beach area (mostly went to shows in Hollywood at that time.) Lastly was the re-scheduled show at the water's club, that one I think the line-up was hillbilly sniper's, a country punk band that I remember being really good, (when I heard the king of the hill theme later thought it might be the same band, it wasn't) then the supporting act was Voo Doo Glow SKulls a Ska-punk band from Riverside, and Sublime that failed to show up... a Second time. Luckily I was fortunate to see them in there 3 times. The thing was they were my gf favorite band at the time, I didn't get into them tell later, (they had a big female following) Last time I saw them was at the palace, in Hollywood I'm pretty sure was jan. 95, that show went off, sadly my main memory of that night was lighting my last two smokes backward, taking hefty drags off the filter, 2 times in a row. The shit we retain, ya know? Anyway, regardless they were a great live band that began as the party band at every flyer'd city wide keg parties, that beside only being a 3-piece sounded really great live, most reggae acts have a shitload of members, especially in the 90's. jonnyCrAsH1978 Man its rare to run into someone who has much insight into the real sublime days as you. I've always loved ska but I hated the glow skulls haha. They sucked in my opinion.
