Brand new Enviro 400 EVs have entered service on route 262. These are the new allocation of the route, And are replacing Gemini 2s. Route 262 runs from Stratford Bus Station, To Gallions Reach Shopping Park. Via Stratford Broadway, Plaistow Station, Beckton Bus Station, And Gallions Reach Station.
Route 262 is 6 miles (9 km) long, And runs around every 10 to 15 minutes, From 04:30 until 01:51. Route 262 is run by GoAhead London, From Henley Road (DS) garage. The route has a PVR of 10. Route 262 commenced operation on 31 December 1966. The route originally ran from Leyton Bakers Arms to Victoria & Albert Docks.
Until the 30th of March 2024, Route 262 was operated by Stagecoach. The route ran from Lea Interchange (LI) garage, Using Wright Streetdecks. The Gemini 2s that ran on the route temporarily, Were transferred from Northumberland Park (NP) garage, Where they were used on route 476.
