I bought this bike brand new in October 2019 with less than 20 miles on it . Here are some highlights from good times to bad times on the TW200 in that span .
Dustin, great job video documenting your journey with the T-Dub. You have a great sense of humor and can laugh at yourself. Your riding is inspiring. Watching you and Rodney riding together at T-Dub Fest 2023 was fun to watch. Be good!
Way to go Dustin, that's an accomplishment to be able to get that amount and quality of riding in. Enjoy it while you can! I sure hope your next assignment lends itself well to your habits. Once a family comes your way, you'll have a lot of memories while you're stuck at home waiting for your kids to get old enough to ride... 😁
True. I am a father of... I think we're up to 4 now. All of them are under 9. It all blends together once you get past having two of them. Anyways, life definitely changes. Just be sure to support your partners hobbies, and make sure they support yours. My wife lets me ride whenever I want to go, and I always say yes anytime she needs time with her friends or play tennis. Can I go on a two week journey anymore, no. Not because I can't, but because I don't want my wife handling everything by herself for that long because it's a lot of work and everyone needs a break. But I can still get weekend rides and trips in and ride my 300L Rally every day. Looking forward to the day I have to buy a bike trailer so I can take the whole gang.
@@marcochavane3124 That my friend is how you stay married and stay in Love. Because love is a choice. And choosing to respect and help each other is what makes it all work. I will be married for 40 years this year, I can truly say it was a lot of give and take on both sides. And totally worth it. I am now in the time of my life where I am getting the time to do some of the things like this and I am looking forward to overlanding and trips that let that inner kid out, but not at the price that would make my wire resent me doing these things. Great perspective Marco. And these Tdubs look like they are mountain goats. I want to get one and put a ATV rear tire and wheel on it.
@@marcochavane3124 Guys I came here for the TW200, I stayed for the wholesome grown men conversations. Way to go, respect and love will get you a long way.
I'm a Yamawhore through and through, maybe even a simb in some cases. The TW200 caught my eye years ago as something I'd want one day. I'm not sure if a full grenade at 15k inspires a lot of confidence but I realize shit happens. Nice video, the first in my journey to convince myself I need a Tee Dubya
I've seen TWs online with well over 40,000 miles. That high desert heat on an air cooled bike doing the RPMs I did for a long time is definitely a recipe for disaster lol
I liked the clock over-lay. My bike turned 1 yesterday. Just under 5k miles. Your videos keep getting better. I give this a 9.9. If I was in it, it would be a 10!
Old School Navy Corpsman here that was stationed with the Marine Corps for my time in @ Camp Lejune, North Carolina. Just stumbled a cross this video. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing you enjoy riding! Made me feel a lil younger. As Always, May God Bless you and yours!
Catching up on episodes I missed now that I have starlink, and a decent internet speed here in southern Colorado. This was a great video bro. Awesome memories, and it's cool we get to be a part of the adventures by watching. Thumb up and shared.
Been with you off and on, always a good time tw'n with you. I'm convinced that with proper thrashing this gives the best fun for the buck ride on brother.
Your dad is freaking awesome, how lucky he could rebuild it for you! Thanks for a wonderful video sharing your adventures with us. And what fun adventures! also, I love your laugh :)
Thank you for taking the time and all of the effort to put this video together for us. Very enjoyable. Well done... From a fellow, but considerably older, TDub rider.
seriously great effort mate what a weapon of a bike we ride alot here in tasmania on many different bikes its the same all over the world if ya wheels are spinning your guna be grinning great edit mate cheers
Much easier to stay alive and healthy on a T-dub than 450cc motocross bike, and damn near as much fun. As the enduro saying goes, "if your bike is too slow, the road is too wide".
A wise ADV / Dual sport rider once said “ NO one complains about smaller and lighter JUST bigger and heavier “ . I have just starting doing up a Kawasaki Super Sherpa 250 - got from a farmer 20 year old bike with only 4000miles on it ! It will be my fun SNOTTY trail bike in our Australian Bush . I live in the Mountains area .I also have a Husky TE630 , A friend of mine ride around Australia ( most of it off road - around 85% ) and done 30,000 miles ( new it’s about to click over 75,000 miles - it’s a Honda CRF 250 , she is about to get the new CRF 300 . ( I have been giving you the figures in miles as we use Kms . So she is keen on getting the CRF 250 to 100,000 kms . Your Navy hay , I’m Australian Army , went to the US some years ago and worked with your military and was also on operations with them In Iraq.
dude that's not just a tank! that's an extremely rare M247 'Sgt York' DIVAD. it was basically an armored anti-aircraft unit assigned to individual divisions to provide air defense. there's only five left in existence, and you found one. AND HOLY CRAP an M901 ATGM carrier! that's the APC with the back open you rode into. here's the Wikipedia article on the M247 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M247_Sergeant_York and the one on the M901 is here- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M901_ITV
My buddy in that ride knew a lot about armor as well and he was super excited to see it. Here is a link from that video where I go inside it . ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ly6l3iuXsT8.html
Bought my TDub in 2018 and have had a journey of a lifetime with it as well. Had to rebuild mine as well but didn't do as awesome of a job grenading the motor lol. Well done on the video and wishing you many more years of happy riding.
First thing’s first, thank you for your service! Second, this is proof that you don’t have to spend $25,000 on a motorcycle to get the joy you get on your TW200. Ride safe!
Of course a squid doesn’t recognize when he’s on the object end of a range. Haha! Just kidding. I loved watching your journey and hope you stay safe and keep it up. Thank you for your videos and service to our country.
Great Video Dustin Thanks so much! I love the Tdub so much I bought another, big bored both of them to 225cc with new cams, dyno tuned 16bhp @ 3300 ft elevation. Good for single track to back road exploring to in town commuting. Runs up to 100 kph (63 mph) in half the time it used too. Next is suspension from cogent. Happy trails! Eric Big House
Thanks for this. In Burma I'm riding an Enfield Himalayan, but I think the TW 200 would be far better for the kind of riding we have here. If I can get one in Thailand and sneak it over, I will. Good on you for 20,000. My 1984 BMW R80 GS is over 280,000 with regular maintenance.
Not really! I drive that in a few months. I actually have two bikes and 4 cars cause all we do is run around! I bought both of my bikes in 2019 and they both have 18k on them now and most of that was recently! The GSX-S1000 had 2200 miles on it last December now it has 7k! And the CBR300R had 7500 now has 11k! Actually run better now due to all the aftermarket stuff then it did when I got it! It acts like it has aged backwards, it’s getting newer looking!
Such awesome adventures! Props for rebuilding the engine and keeping the TW goin. I just wanna see a TW with the new R3 engine. An electric motor up front. Some LEDs. Fuel injection. Like a Tenere 300 I guess.
The "Nooo!" when u blew the engine in that parking lot... that's a real selling point for this machine. Must have been tough without the bike while it was being fixed. You seem like you'd sleep in the tw200 if you could 😂 Definitely a machine I want to own one day
lol good ol walker valley. always good to see it. Moving off Whidbey this summer to Eastern Washington. I'm taking my final endorsement test tomorrow so hopefully soon I will be putting down the miles like you are. It's been fun watching your videos, you and T Dubs kid inspired me to get a TW. Crazy shit man lol. (btw love your dads comments. "get yer wallet out kid" hahah damn
These TW's are like Larger Trials Bikes. They can go almost anywhere. I've been a Sport biker and Dirt Rider All of My Life. I'm older now and I may entertain getting one of these.
D, it's been an honor, privilege, and complete blast following the life/death/re-birth of your TDub! One 'understatement' that I can say for sure is: N-E-V-E-R A D-U-L-L M-O-M-E-N-T ! ! ! ! 😂👍 This compilation rocked! As always - Thanks for the antics & Thanks for sharing! 🤘
I used to own a Ural. I was keeping up with the mileage (though its odometer was in kilometers), wanting to get a pic for all the major milestones. I was approaching 33,333 kilometers, all 3s going across the odometer. I looked down and saw 33,329, then went a bit and saw 33,331, went a bit more and saw _______________! What the?!?. The odometer literally fell to pieces right at or just before the magic moment. The numbers just fell out. The next time I went to ride, I looked at the speedometer and the needle was going around the whole face of the speedometer quickly, just spinning through all 360 degrees about once every second. So, for you, at least it was just a video file. You still have the audio and a photo. What a piece of junk that Russian scrap metal was!
i emphasize when you mentioned leaving WA, we have hands down some of the best and most miles of beautiful riding roads/on and off in the country. i have an adv390 that is getting a bunch of service and upgrades done and i plan on riding the hell out of it this year. thats funny you mentioned the supermoto guys cus my other bike is a husqy 701sm
In less than four minutes I subscribed, having immediately liked the presenter/narrator, his bike and his recounting of his travel and camping experiences. I look forward to viewing your previous and future videos. From a former motorcycle mechanic in London.
I'm in the process of rebuilding my 2021 Tdub with 17k started smoking a bit and developed a crank bearing issue and started a slight knock.. Frame and swing arm and getting a new paint job as they are starting to rust..Great video!! Hard to kill a Tdub
I have a 2020 with less then 1000 miles. I got it for the legendary durablility but I’m kinda disappointed that they’re not lasting longer. I get it , he rides super hard, do you as well. I’d figure it should last longer even while driven hard. That’s what they’re made for right?
On your next plan see if you can get to NAF El Centro. We can take you to Glamis, California....the sand buggy capital of the world! Roy, So Cal. Have a good day.
I'm in the Sand Box in the last 1/2 of April, but when I get back, I'll have time, and definitely will have, to come meet you somewhere if you still want to go ride with the Old Guy again. Assuming the world hasn't gone all Fallout on us.
Hello I bought the same handguards however on my tw handlebar there is a melted part on the grid level inside the handlebar... impossible to install the handguards... How did you do ?!? Great videos with few friends we are trying to make the same kind of adventure bikes, team tw :)
awesome video man really going to enjoy watching your channel I noticed that you had the left turn signal light was off mine does the same thing have you ever figured out what causes that it the turn signal does work but the parking light on the left side will not turn on thank you we'll enjoy watching your videos good luck out there
