It actually did already, once in the 80s and once in the early 2000s. It's dead now. So if history is to be believed maybe look out for early 2020. We out here!
I've been addicted to skimboarding since 1987. there is just something magic about sliding across wet sand into the ocean. I thought I was pretty hot because I could do a 360. The art Mr. Sears creates with his skill approaches the divine. So much fun to watch!

one of the things they do is called sideslipping. The way you do this is after you have jumped on, you turn your board perpendicular to the direction you are heading. this does allow you to float out further. Another technique is when u basically pump the front of the board up and down and leaning forward to get more speed. Hope this helps

look here mate, i surf and skim.and although i like surfing better than skimming ,i have to admit that skimboarding also gives you another cool and unique feeling that you don't have in surfing. that's the reason why i started skimming along with surfing :) anyway they are both two bad ass sports :p
@Alex1376300 The board is made by Exile Skimboards. Brandon rides a size small pro shape carbon fiber 3/4" with a little extra planing in the nose and tail.
such an amazing video, i had no idea skimmers did this sorta stuff! its kinda weird coz hes basicly surfing,but eyy each to their own, i prefer paddling out and riding a wave in but props to this bloke!
all our 3/4" boards have some taper (unless you special order one without). those ones have a little extra taper. adds manueverability with a slight penalty to float...

High end Zap boards arent bad but nothing beats an Exile. For one, all our high end boards are made with Epoxy. We are the ONLY major company that does that. having the proper equipmnt helps a lot. its not magic... but it helps. If you have a low end zap board you will notice a big difference stepping up to an exile. However if you arent running fast enough there is only one way to fix that! ;)
