The man with the best soulful voice ever! If you also want to listen to something truly special, react to Angelina Jordan. Very old school soul, jazzy bluezy.... From, Elvis, Screamin J Hawkins, Etta James, Dina Washington, Whitney Houston, Adele and the likes. She started recording in studios when she was only 6 years old, won Norway's Got Talen at 7 years old. Today at only 16, in my opinion one of the best, most versatile female vocalists of our time.

The most time I love Chris went to Madea yes Madea Farewell and was recognized and sing Tennessee Whiskey Oh that arena was singing with Chris so yes I love him . Hi from Charlotte, NC! Great reaction! Chris Stapleton has that bluesy, gritty, soulful voice & he plays a mean guitar, too! Y'all NEED to check out the video from the 2015 CMA awards when Justin Timberlake & Chris Stapleton perform "Tennessee Whiskey"/"Drink You Away"! They REALLY put on a SHOW! Serious business! Check out "Cold" from his latest album Starting Over! The whole album is great! I really love an older song of his "What Are You Listening To?" Also, Chris's acoustic version of "Barely Alive" is incredible! You should check out a video of Chris Stapleton from 1-6-06 when he was on a songwriters cruise. He sings "Fool Me Again" which he & Al Anderson wrote the night before! Chris was only 26-28 & still didn't think he had a "singing" voice; so, he was just writing songs for other performers! @@mikebeasley6447 I understand all that, and I do (by far) enjoy and prefer Chris Stapleton’s version. I was simply pointing out the history of the song to the original commenter, who said this song was for Chris’s wife... it wasn’t (specifically anyway) as it was written and first released by others decades ago. And at 55 years old, I am neither tone deaf nor dead - and am, in fact, old enough to remember both DAC & George Jones’ versions.

I heard somewhere that his band was playing around practicing and the bass player was playing that Etta James song . And Chris starting singing Tennessee whiskey by George Jones . Then that just made the song out of it. Might be wrong though.

If you really want to blow your mind at how great this cover is - listen to the original song by David Allan Coe in 1981 or George Jones cover of it 1983 Chris Stapleton's version is so superior to those ones you will shut them off half way through them. BTW, the woman singing with him is his wife. Check out Chris' version of JB's song It's a Man's World
