You have no idea the can of worms you have opened for yourselves. Dirty Loops is one of greatest "open secrets" of RU-vid, and of the music world in general. You have so much fun in store. I wish I could go back and listen again to all of their music for the first time. You should listen to "Follow the Light" next. "Breakdown" was certainly the most chill tune DL has produced, by far. You'll see. The rest of their stuff is much more high energy. And you have not even begun to experience what Henrik Linder can do on bass. Looking forward to your next DL reaction!
Thanks for following my suggestion! :) I think I was the first one suggesting Dirty Loops.... under your live chat few weeks ago. I suggested Breakdown because it`s (I hope) an easy (after my ears) start getting to know Dirty Loops. It`s their only (I guess) down-tempo song. They are foremost known for their excellent musicianship!!! You know they`re signed by Quincy Jones. Please try one or two more for yuo forget them: Next to you Work shit out (as mentioned by Anders Granström down below) Hit me Thanks again, have a wonderful day you two.. hugs and appreciation from a Norwegian in Switzerland.
I teach music, and these guys are the real deal. such originality and musicianship. wow. even the instrumentation is unusual - voice, keyboards, bass and drums? who does that? try 'follow the light'...
@@falsemcnuggethope fair point, but I'm hearing funk, pop, rock, gospel along with the jazz feels... they certainly make do just fine with what they have...
Dirty Loops are elite musicians and the vocalist has a very powerful voice on top of his musicianship skills. For a song that really showcases the musicianship, I'd say try "Work Shit Out". "Next to You" is pretty epic as well. I'd also check out "Follow the Light" and their cover of "Thriller" from the collaborative album with Cory Wong. They're really quite fantastic. The key to Dirty Loops is to expect the unexpected. You never know what you're gonna get.
And Mike, when you enjoy the base and drums.... my God!!! Go further with DL, on this song they are actually on "save mode". `Work shit out` - is a total showoff in playing their instruments!!!
Do a reaction of their version if Michael Jackson's Thriller, it is maybe the best cover of that song. I would say that it is better than the original.
Oh boy you have really left the barn door open on this one. I really enjoyed your reaction. Very affable, enjoyable. First time for the two of you so I simply got the impression that you usually listened to more upbeat music? This is definitely their most downbeat...though still an excellent song. I'd recommend "Rock You", "Next to You", "World on Fire", definitely "Follow the Light", "Thriller", "Turbo" (all relatively new). This is one of the best most musically respected bands out there. Get yourselves Loopified and please give them another listen. You will definitely be surprised.
Talking '80s tunes... They just recently released a nice version of Thriller in collaboration with guitarist Corey Wong and a fantastic horn section. They did it the Dirty Loop way.... 🔥🔥🔥
You should also listen to this songs partner "World on fire" (recorded in the same period), awesome bass solo in that one and more of Jonahs range in his voice. Thankful you were silent most of the time but the only comment landed exact when Henrik did a neat little trick on his bass.
This is the magic of DL. They don't care about looks. They just wanna play whatever they want. You should look into more DL cause they will blow your minds. Like Dimash, they will surprise you everytime with their skills and sounds.
As Dirty Loops I am a fellow Stockholmer, so I’m pretty much their fourth member. You got to give at least one more song a shot to get the vibe of them. This is the only slow song they have ever done. Great stuff, but most of their music is high intensity, both musically and on energy. Check out Follow the light for a pop/funk banger please. Love your channel, from a lurker :)
This is not their only slow song. They had a couple on their first album. That being said, as great as this song is, as others have stated, it wasn't the best place to start for an introduction and doesn't show half of what they can do. They're called Dirty Loops for a reason, but this song doesn't show the reason. Songs like "Work Shit Out", "Next to You", and "Hit Me" do. If you were to try again, I'd go for one of those.
SImply one of the best bands I have heard in my 53 year young life! Check out more - and hey, musicians that can play!! We almost forgot... Check out "Next to you", "Work shit out" and hell yeah - everything! :-) Fine reaction!
Same felling here Anders. In my 53 year old.. no young was it :) I`ve never heard musicianship at this high level... Be proud of your fellow countrymen!!!!
@@havardbuvarp9527 Musicianship and feeling, that combo too!! The mix is perfection, with the skills of the band. I am proud of the fantastic Norwegian-neighbour! All the time, except from when you do cross country skiing... ;-)
@@andersgranstrom7128 Oh never mind them norwegian crosscountry skiers. They must have a miserable life.... totally exhausted all winter.... ;) Nice to hear from fellow DL-fans. :D
If you want a step up, I suggest Next to you. New kicks there, I assure you. Many more to come in other DL Songs. Please do try some more DL reactions, you won’t regret it!
Tough one to react to. I have never heard them play this sloooowly. Normally they are wild. And very funny. I have the feeling this is a parody, that they are mocking us. You should see their song Turbo for a comparison...
You should have started with Work Shit Out or Follow The Light ... This is basically their only slow song and it does not really showcase what they normally do. Still, it's a good song. And, thanks for the reaction guys.
I love this song. It´s very cinematic. But you started with like the least representative song of their repertoir. This is the only ballad they did so far. They are funky/pop/gospel/jazz-fusion....all the cool music. Each of them is a virtuoso and they compliment each other perfectly.
Ginger & Mike, my introduction to Dirty Loops was their song 'Work Shit out' (no joke, it's the real name of it). It's a masterpiece. I've some struggles with the high voice of the singer (which reminds me too much of Michael Jackson, I don't like it) but the instrumental work is insane in it. Highly recommended for the next reaction to this group.
Not the best choice for your first Dirty Loops reaction. That is the laid back version of them. You might try [work shit out] or maybe their version of [ thriller] feat Cory Wong. They are masters of their craft .
I thought it was very good. He had great vocal range and those high notes. You were right, wasn't expecting that. By the way Ginger, Arch Enemy released a new song and video, Deceiver, Deceiver. Sorry Mike, but you might not like the growling, but you can check it out. Ginger will no doubt like it. 😃
LOVE Dirty Loops! It's just so awesome that Harry Connick Jr, Robert Downey Jr and Edward Norton's sons got together to form Dirty Loops! 😉🤣 As awesome as they did this song, it's a little slow tempo for an introduction to DL. I would have gone with World On Fire or Follow The Light then followed up with Work Shit Out. IMO
nice,,, react barsena besthandi "fix you" live session,,, he's do different way than felix irwan ,, you must be like that u must react guys btw he's indonesian singer too
Ready for more new stuff? Just rediscovered Wholy Martin, fab low voice (Leonard Cohen- ish) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fsSMI4pb3m0.html
This is as about as vanilla as you're going to hear from them. Breakdown is nothing like what They normally have to offer. These guys are ridiculous. Listen to World on Fire or Work Shit Out.
A huge request/recommendation... Maro - "O Que Será de Ti" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7A6UmO0CeM4.html This is an incredible and unforgettable vocal recording, perfect for your "Play it Again" audience, most of whom have probably never heard of Maro.
I implore you, good sir, to check out their song with Cory Wong and a horn section: “Follow the Light”. Give it 30 seconds. If they’re still not your cup of tea, feel free to move on. But my goodness…. These dudes are unlike any other outfit I’ve seen before, I’d hate to see you walk away from them without a second attempt. :)
