blame the guys behind the scenes they the ones that bring up the value they the ones that put the prices, they have all the money so they can do whatever, they messed up the hobby with these ridiculous prices.. people tryna get back to the hobby HOW if the prices are sky rocketed they be making up all these prices and u only see the rich people buying but u don't see too many low income people buying nothing they show u.. its all a scam to rip your pockets apart..
@@XxDeathsEnemyxX Not if your trying to chase the new stuff .. Hint wait 2-3 years on the new and let the price settle if that's what your after .. Vintage is and always will be your better safer long term investment . .
It'll happen. It's already starting to. This sht comes and goes. It's like any other hobby/trend. I dont know wtf anyone would buy from breakers to begin with considering it all sounds sketchy asf. Turns out ...people lie a lot on the internet. Who could have seen that coming? 😆
There are certain things for breakers that can never happen. Cards can never leave the camera's view, ever. There should also be wide angle cameras that can show everything around the cards just to take funny business off the table.
I agree the scammers in the breaking industry dont come off as seasoned criminals you put one of those dirt bags in the slammer I bet you that nips it in the bud immediately.
Naw man breakers are good for the hobby, as long as they are legit. Who's bad for the hobby are the dudes that have no life and buy all the retail product and charge double online and act like that's their job.
A lot of my buddies who were breakers are now broke. It was a bad habit.... had they spent their raw dollars on high grade HOF'ers? They would have plenty to show for it and be a light year more comfortable financially with far more peace of mind then they have now..... stay away from the buzz and all the bogus excitement IMO.
Ive never done break on What not. I have listened to an Interview with the "Retail King", He has got the Law Enforcement involved over this. I 100% agree with his choice to go that extra step.
I love whatnot but man does the app need a lot of problems to fix. So many breakers on there should not be on that platform, from the scams that have been going around.
I saw one break where dude opens up a case of cards and the main auto was missing. Like the entire card was out of its slot. Dude still played off like it was normal. "Overheating camera".... Just looked up the stats. Like the same chances as hitting the loto.
A huge breaker in Hawaii was pulling nba cards from nfl packs. He was drunk and inserted his nba commons in the nfl packs and got exposed. He is known to open the box from the bottom, search out cards from packs, re-seal and insert back in the box. No case hits came out.
They need to just release the actual name of that breaker and let people take care of it . People will stop scamming if a group of people shop up at there house
How can he still scam if he's fired? Or you think he's a habitual scammer? Idk about that. Definitely release his mug shot though, that's how civilized humans take care of things.
@Mouse's SportsCards mugshot? 🤣😂 dude never went to jail. And won't. That's why these apps, and breaking is a joke. Because the community doesn't take it seriously, so no one else does either.
people should stop buying breaks and just buy the card you need graded or raw, breaking is a waste of money why spend thousands tryna pull a hit when you can buy the hit on eBay and its cheaper 90% of those card's in those breaks is useless.. if you wanna break just buy the boxes yourself at least you know your not getting scammed..
@@smbmostfamous1432 Most hobby boxes are $300-$650 per box that leaves a good portion of the sports card hobby out. Breakers sell spots for $20-$60 and you get the chance to own some nicer hobby cards. To each their own though. The hobby for sure needs less toxic people in it.
Sports Cards Nonsense interviewed the owner of Retail Kings on their podcast. He did say they filed charges against the employee that stole the card. They also recovered the card. He wasn’t “just fired.”
The problem I have with cracking slabs is the artificial pop reports that it leaves behind. How doe any of the grading services know when a card they graded with a cert number gets taken off the market to be crossed over to another grading company.
They only know if it gets reported to them and they then remove it from the pop report but I suspect the vast majority never get reported therefor making all pop reports suspect to being 100% accurate. At least anything less than tens would be highly suspect to be somewhat inaccurate.
As far as I know they don't .. So id not put a whole ton of stock into pop reports in that case until they come up with some way to track it , Or my other guess is they will seal the case to make it tamper proof aka impossible to open , and once its submitted and graded that's it .
I would never buy packs online. People are weighing them now. You won't score that good card but they'll pull a good card when it's one of their friend's watching who "bought a pack" don't fall for these online break's. Unfortunately to many scammers now have ruined it
With your bank analogy with the teller stealing that happens way more than you would think. Unless it’s over $10,000, they don’t call the cops they don’t want the bad publicity.
Breaking bad. This time I agree, but nothing new. People were messing with packs in the 90's, searching and I pulled nearly nothing. One guy would take the hit packs out of boxes at Walmart, Targets and the LCS. It was bad.
background checks , require a bond , multiple cameras , like the guy said 1 strike but you need red line things to that are 2 strikes because some things shouldn't give a second chance
Put special ceils on the cases and individual box's in the cases and show your viewers all angles of all the box's as the break go's along and ensure every box is brand new and not tampered with and 4 to 5 camera angles so each box or case is never out of veiw at anytime reputable or not every breaker should have to follow these steps to the T NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
Video Suggestion: A look at the industry of trading cards/sports breakers that is not breaking or investing specifically but the folks around them that have capitalized doing something else but rely specifically on the industry.
The breaking economy rests on the shoulders of those struggling with compulsive gambling. In addition to the measures you mentioned, the methods used to randomize teams needs to be 100% regulated. No playing cards no apps on an iPad. It most 100% be a Whatnot randomizer and every breaker doing randomized teams must use it
Question for next episode. Have you seen TAG grading? What is your opinion of them and the future of automated, computer AI, machine learning method of grading cards?
I'm had my cards switched on whatnot. Most of the bigger breakers have a joe burrow silver. My joe burrow was a clean card from what I saw and when I received it there was a thumbnail mark at the top. But buying cards this way I the buyer takes all the risk. WHATNOT IS FOR THE SELLER ONLY.
My thoughts on Disney 100. I've watched many openings. It's a high quality product. Very well made. Centered. Surfaces are damn near perfect. Quality over quantity. Imagine that with a Topps or Panini product.
Psa 10 grading is not very consistent. I'm seeing 10s all over ebay that aren't even close to being centered front and back they need to do some quality control
It happened to me, finally got the team I wanted and totally killed it all the car do you want to get and they never showed up they said they lost them in the mail. Yeah, right gave me a refund, but that was thousands less than what the cards are worth.
You guys should do a topic cracking and crossing from sgc and hga to psa. smaller less popular brands that also don’t compare to psa 10 yet sometimes grade tougher.
These companies should start putting only Divisions in Boxes. You’ll already know what teams are in that box based off the first card you pull. There is no way for breaking to work. People will chase boxes instead of players
If Topps continues to allow RBI Breaks to be a breaker I am done buying breaks and I spent over $20,000 on Topps in 2022. Nothing like a scammer representing topps.
Back yard breakers are the worst with shady stuff I believe if people are going to buy into a break it should be with someone that is honest with the people that are involved in the breaks... People pay a lot of money to get into the breaks they should get to see every card that is in the packs that are opened .
There’s a reason why card manufacturers support breaking…they realize they can profit even more from it. Buying a spot in a break is like buying a lottery ticket. You can hit big, but you’ll be lucky to get your money back and most likely will lose some money.
Big problem it Whatnot itself. The platform is set up for scamming. Not being able to playback anything makes it a lot easier for someone to steal. A little slight of hand and it’s a wrap. I buy into breaks. I have since 2014. I won’t do what not. RU-vid only.
Wn needs to do better vetting. Having an iPhone and blaster boxes shouldn't be the criteria. Must have good standing resale license or llc in their respective state of operation. Must have min 6 months of live breaks archived for review. Must have positive reviews for 6 months time, a personal interview via zoom with whatnot, also, use a broadcaster, not post it notes and index cards or other home made things with one static camera. It's 2023 not 2009. Wn won't do this though because it would weed out many, or many wouldn't go thru this process or be approved. Hence, profits decline. Wn would reserve the right to terminate at any time or decline without reason or explanation. Let's see if this happens.
I feel so bad for the younger generations coming into card hobby like it is I don't even recognize it no more from when I was a kid goin to the local card shop getting cards out of the $.25 cent machine you'd get couple of cards be chasing Michael Jordan rookie& Frank Thomas rc error that was in it. 🔥
There's sooo many products now, and they are starting to go crazy with the million different products and I just got back into card collecting. I'm going to sell the bigger cards I pulled and sit back and watch see what happens
Here is the issue everyone is making videos and tiktoks but nobody is taking action like boycotting whatnot and pulling from there platform or seeking legal repercussions on this. So what is 100% going to happen is everyone is gonna loose and there going to ban live rip and ships as we speak they are writing a bill for it and since everyone can make videos and not go to the companies letting it happen all honest rip n shippers are going to lose TONS of business and money to the point were you can only buy sealed products in store or online.
Disney will allow the card pump to happen and tank the prices with more and more of their products being released. It's definitely something to hold onto in the long run, but prices will definitely fall when other products come out in the short term.
It's only going to get worse because this hobby is losing what it was meant to be the average Joe and Jane Smith being able to buy a box of cards collect their favorite players and so forth now you have cards where one pack cost $2,000 and because of the increase and this becoming a rich man's Hobby it's going to be more and more counterfeit going on
Lol 😆.... I told you.. I got scammed badly by a bunch of breakers that had hardwood design as thier background... I bought into a break paid for 13 nfl teams out of the 27 listed on the break and all but 3 items were immediately listed on ebay as shipped and the remaining 3 where not listed as shipped untill the next day after break was done.. Let me say I ONLY won 1 item out of 13 different chances lol... The math didn't add up and it was obvious that I got scammed by them... Pre determined breaks with signed helmets and jerseys are a scam... stay away from them.. If it says RANDOM its a lie
Hey guys, just getting back into sports cards, regarding 2021 Panini Prizm football, I noticed that TLaws silver variation is selling for a lot lower than his base silver, in both PSA 9 and 10. Can anyone tell me if variations are rare in that year's set? You would think variation = rare, but prices suggest the opposite. Is this a blimp or a new trend in the new market? Keep in mind, when panini 1st came out with variations I remember them selling for decently more than the base
If breaking is the future, that mean these "select breakers" are going to get loaded boxes to generate the interest and therefore the money? If so, what a joke. I would never break and never will.
Speaking of scams. Can you please do a video on the scam of Jersey Fusion. Taking a regular card, placing in a case, adding basketball shorts and saying it's a patch. Please address and worn everyone.
The hobby-machinery has always been like that. Shady people like Goldin etc. started in the 90s ripping off people by selling crap on TV. What´s the difference to nowadays??? NONE! The more people get used to making money with picture cards of grown men (like Your channel promotes) they become greedy...
The idea in that regard is that more people can participate on a moderate budget. Let's say a box of Bowman Chrome costs $300. You get what you get if you buy the box and that is that. But $300 may be more than what someone can afford. In a break you can buy a team for say $30. Thirty teams sell for $900. Breaker makes money obviously and for $30 you might get lucky and get a good card from the team you own in the break. It's gambling. Even the legit breakers have already lost their moral compass and its getting worse.
As someone new to this card collecting hobby…I’m still not sure what breaking is. Can someone explain it to me like I’m an 8 year old simply wanting to collect and trade cards?
An example of Breaking is pretty much when people pay for certain teams they want cards for, and a breaker will open up boxes that are in a "break" and each team a player belongs in is where who ever bought that team will go too and they will ship it out.
Looks at numbers. The scammers will be way off odds. They will find the big hitters way to often. If you hit a 1:100 boxes card and you keep pulling them every 10 boxes something is off. Statistics never lie.
This is true only if the sample size is large enough. I opened roughly 200 packs of specific Pokémon set recently. The top rarity cards in the set fall about one in 200 packs and there are 4 different ones making each specific one fell about once every 800 packs. Anyways I pulled 4 of these cards in less than 100 packs but then haven't yet pulled any in the next 100. Even so the four I got out of 200 packs was 3 more than I should have gotten. Was something up. No nothing was up I just had an unbelievable run of luck in the Silver Tempest set. The numbers are skewed because the sample size wasn't large enough to allow ratio to correct itself. But if you took the numbers from all sets and combined them into one a funny thing happens. I've opened almost 3000 packs since alts were first introduced to Pokémon. They fall about 1:200. It took almost 2000 packs to get my first one. But then with the monkey off my back had 7 more fall into my lap out of the next 1000 packs. I should have 15 by now and only have 8 so even 3000 packs isn't large enough sample size to correct itself after coming within less than 50 packs of 2000 before getting my first one. I'm sure if Pokémon were to back a truck up to my front door and dropped off 100 000 packs and I opened them all up that my pull rate would come in somewhere very close to the 1:200 ratio that the cards are inserted at than the roughly 1:400 ratio I'm currently at.
@@u_s_a_cards breaking is not the lifeblood of the hobby. Just one avenue that some enjoy. Its really nutty to be honest just dumb gambling and most breakers suck to watch.
Need more Brick and morter card shops..... I live in a heavily populated area of the east coast & the only card stores around me are for playin Magic & Pokémon & look down upon ANY1 who collects for monetary value Damn Shame
