Breakfast tour of SHENZHEN! 

I live in Shenzhen my entire life, but I have never seen your food map before. Nor have I tried the three dishes you ate in this video. You are literally a foodie!

I was disappointed when the video was over. Only 3 dishes?? I was expecting 10. More please.

Omg I grew up in Henan and Hu-La-Tang is absolutely my favorite breakfast from my hometown. It's the only thing that can make me get up early on weekends just so I can catch it before being sold out lol. Thank you for bringing up this precious memory of my childhood! My personally best way of enjoying Hu-La-Tang is to add 1 scoop of tofu nao (always available in hu-la-tang places) in it to neutralize the peppery and salty flavor, and to dip some crispy scallion pancake wedges in the soup. Yes, it's kinda like dipping you-tiao in soy milk. Try it out next time Amy!

as a Chinese, my favorite breakfast is McDonald's starting from just 6 RMB (with a cup of coffee and a bacon muffin). It's the cheapest and most nutritious breakfast i can buy with this price in the city i live (Xiamen).

wow, the third restaurant is from Yangjiang(阳江) Guangdong. I am from Yangjiang ,where has a lot amazing local food.in the vedio ,what you ate is zhuchanglu(猪肠碌) ，I guess so. welcome to Yangjiang to enjoy the vocation .Yangjiang has much lovely beach.

The third type of food is called 猪肠碌，which is the representative food of Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province. We often pour beef sauce and sweet and spicy sauce before eating

Three breakfasts in a roll, that's quite something, keep it up!

Amy, I'd like to recommend two local cantonese breakfasts to you.original flavor pork rice noodle soup/猪杂原味粉 and changfen/肠粉. I used to live in chengdu for 7years and worked in shenzhen after i left chengdu, so I have a strong taste. At the beginning, I didn't like these two breakfasts, both of which i need to add spicy . Then I tried to eat like the local cantonese without chili, and after a few times I fell in love. 猪杂原味粉 is very fresh, especially in winter morning to eat a bowl of it, very tasty and warm. If you can taste the light rice flavor of 肠粉, then you will love it.

Damn, kudos to that lady for not hitting the snooze button past 2:30 AM...even Dwayne Johnson doesn't wake up that early. 😄 Rou Bing kinda looks like a Chinese quesadilla, lol.

One thing I love the most each time I visit China is wake up early and buy the 糖油饼 and Tofu brain before it's sold out.

I laughed so hard at "师傅, take me to the 肉饼!" I live in the French speaking part of Canada, and a lot of people are bilangual. This is how some people speak in a daily basis except that it's in English mixed with French (Franglais as we call it here )

胡辣汤确实非常好喝。是河南人早餐非常常见的。工艺非常复杂 想做好的胡辣汤 要提前5、6个小时开始准备。而且 很多早餐店5、6点就开门了。也就是说 他们要整整做一夜。视频中看 胡辣汤做的还是相当不错的。作为河南人。给个赞。虽然没有真的尝到味道正不正宗 但看起来不错。不过有一点 Amy 喝胡辣汤 是要搭配吃的。油条 包子 葱油饼，任何都行，因为单喝胡辣汤 太咸了，他不像一种soup，而更像一种sauce. 搭配着早餐吃的。直接喝，哪怕是本地人 可能也不行，太咸了。

hu la tang is amazing i made it a lot. never knew it was served for breakfast though. chinese cooking demistified has a amazing recipe (hot and sour soup)

just a suggest, try to put the price for ur breakfast food......... its help for foreigner to familier with the price, also convert it to us dollar if u can ....... happy to see ur content btw

As a Chinese myself, I even never heard of the third dish. It looks so appetizing. Based on the appearance, it should fall into the category of Cantonese dim sum.

Shenzhen looks like a real melting pot of many different regional food. 🤤 Please do more places. The soup is really cheap 5 yuan for all that. Wow.

All three dishes look very good and now I am hungry. The third dish looks like a spring roll of sort. I am a Hong Kong native and I am dying to move back to China, preferably Shenzhen ...I really missed the food back home....food here in the States is not to my liking!! Although the restaurants in Shenzhen you went to did not look up-class, they actually serve the best food from various localities in China. The reason was that they were opened by "inland immigrants" newly moved to Shenzhen. People who move to a new place tend to lack capital. So they can only rent cheap stalls or restaurants. But they serve the best authentic food made with their personal skills. But as years go by, they would invest their savings into a better-decorated restaurant. Unfortunately, that is when the original taste tends to be lost. I saw these changes in Hong Kong. When I was small, there were so many delicious and wonderful food dotted around in the street stalls of Hong Kong when there were lots of mainland immigrants moving to Hong Kong. But as the 1st generation fades away and taken over by the 2nd and 3rd generations of "Hongkongers", the food making sills have dwindled, leaving only up-class shops selling 2nd class food which is central-produced and expensive. The food these days have no "personal touch", as they do in Shenzhen. So enjoy them while you can.

I wonder if Shenzhen has any 果汁 Kweh Chap. I mean it's not that far from 潮山 Teoswa/Chaoshan, so it should do. It's basically thick rice noodles swimming in a pork gravy with braised pork belly, assorted pork bits and hard boiled eggs. Definitely worth trying. 😊
