I think kyle and john are just trying to give purdy more options. Still nine picks left and the niners have shown they know how to pick gems late in the draft. I dont get how people have no faith in the niners drafting players after the roster they have built over the years.
Just wonder what’s not to like. He’s a solid size, very good route runner, very good hands, and is a very athletic receiver. It’s not like there was an offensive tackle that was an upgrade on the board. All the starting quality tackles were taken already. Hopefully they move up for one of the centers in the 2nd round tho
The 49ers Did the same exact thing when we drafted BA out of no where and you can’t call your self faithful when hating on one of our players who we jus got he gives me puka vibes just wait and give the kid a chance
I forgot what podcast was it... but look what CJ stroud said about this pick?! When the ask him who won this round. He said "niners and chief" and also explained why. OK let's get what really need in the next round.... let's go niners
Bill Walsh said that, once the draft is over, it doesn't matter where you were taken. That said, this was not good VALUE. Hope he does well for the 49ers. He is 24. After 5 years [4+5th year option] he will be 28. Do we even expect to extend him??? How good would he have to be to justify this selection?
Its weird becuz i watched his highlights and hes good in the slot and he has good route running and i think about Aiyuk but then i check his stats and see he also likes to run, kinda like Deebo so my brain is all messed up man
I agree we should have had a o lineman man first round I do not understand this move but we'll see what John Lynch and Shanahan's is thinking soon enough
Trade Deebo for a minimum Early Second rounder. Draft an interior lineman. (Frazier/Rosengarten) Then package your original 2nd round with other picks and move up and grab a Corner. Next season draft your Tackles
Ricky Pearsall very good route runner Aiyuk very good route runner. Both are great for Brock Purdy. Deebo is not the best route runner and his injuries are starting to catch up with him.Deebo was a better reciever for Jimmy.G being around the line of scrimmage.
Wish people would give over with all the criticism 🙄 Super Bowl last season, playoffs the year before (probably better if we hadn’t lost Purdy), so I think the guys know what they are doing! Seem to remember everyone worrying when we had wide receivers injured last season, so a bit of strength in depth wont hurt. Lot of picks to come and I’ll be happy with what they get, because like 99.99% of people commenting, I’ve no idea how to build a successful football team and they do 😉
Last Night when it happened I was like what da**** Now that I did some homework and thought about it.....I like the pick! Imma just go ahead and trust the process because they have been correct more than being wrong so CARRY ON! I look to see how tonight goes. I dont see us trading neither Deebo or BA for a 2nd round pick but I can see us trading Dannny Gray, Elijah Mitchell, or another B player to make moves. Just gotta wait and see! Keep in mind we did lose Ray Ray and need a replacement...
I dont think this speaks to a trade necessarily. Definitely wouldnt be Aiyuk cause they weren't taking anything less than a 1st for him. I dont think theyll trade Deebo just yet either. Not until after 6/1 when they save the most money, or until after the season before his big payout hits. If they're gonna trade Deebo though they cant wait longer than those options if they want a decent compensation for him cause he aintbgetting better the longer he's playing. 👀 I suppose picking up this guy could just be a way to please Aiyuk since he apparently really likes the guy, and maybe suck up a bit. Lol
That is my belief also. With the arrival of Brock Purdy we need recievers that are better route runners and Aiyuk and Pearsall are it. Deebo was a better reciever for Jimmy.G being around the line of scrimmage and Deebo injuries are starting to effect his play. By Deebo.
@@chriswwe123 I disagree we can build around ba. Deebo is often hurt and ba is under contract and we can still use the franchise tag. Niners have all the leverage no way he hold out
Im thinking back to all the shit people talked about fred warner or the safety that got hurt oh but no one talked trash on the lineman from notra dame we picked in the first round an he was trash couldnt wait to get rid of him
I like the pick. I dont like the spot. 😒 I would rather have grabbed Kool-Aid, Cooper Dejean, or IDK...... A FREAKING TACKLE OR GUARD MAYBE!? Hopefully we package a couple mid rounders and move up in the 2nd.
I've been saying for months that along with Malachi Corley and Xavier Leggette, the two white boys were underrated. Never liked Adonai Mitchell or Polk or Tez Walker. I also think Brian Thomas Jr and Rome Adunze are overrated. Marvin and Nabers are absolutely gonna be studs, but the next group might be the two white boys and Leggette or Corley. Similar to how things went with Puka last year Pearsall is gonna be loved by his QB. I was originally a little disappointed that I thought we could have traded down and still drafted him but that probably means there was at least a couple other teams wanted him. Bills traded back and desperately need a wr, maybe they thought Ricky and Ladd were interchangeable.
D- pick: he appears as if he's going to be a franchise player. But, SF needs to catch the Chiefs and Ravens right now! There's no time left; where's the urgency they had in 94?! Either they should have brought someone else in before now or not drafted a SET-IN-STONE 3rd or 4th receiving option in the 1st round...They didn't need a 3rd or 4th option as if they won a ring last year; they needed a way to do better than last year and doing better than last year requires beating those secondaries(even if you can find the means to protect Brock later in the draft). You can have all the time in the world, but your WR/TE/RB combination still have to beat their pass defense(which are frankly as good as there is)! I don't think you do that by adding a 3rd or 4th option on the depth chart--when those ahead of him could not get the job done last year!
agree...except Pearsall is faster then BA, or Deebo...quicker then them too. soft hands, circus catches, and can jump, durable and doesn't drop. 3 drops last year with 65 receptions, and avg depth of 11.1 yards. He's going to be murder in the slot...
@@nadjasunflower1387 He's not a 1 or 2 receiver. He's the option that you put behind your 1st 2 options already in place. This is important, because they are poised to win right now and are presumably about to release somebody! Here's where Ricky fits: Rice, Taylor, and Pearsall would go there. Harrison, Wayne, and Pearsall would go there. Owens, Rice, and Pearsall would go there. Moss, Carter, and Pearsall would go 3rd...That's at his ceiling or highest point! Not only that, the 49ers have to win now and Ricky still has to reach this ceiling(only comes with experience).
Why are you people crying? I get it the Gators sucked! I'm a long time Gator fan and trust and believe you got a sleeper at WR. You probably think he's not good because we have a QB with a terrible head coach that struggled to get the ball to him. Ricky is a special wide out who can make plays people! You got a good one! But to be fair I believed he would be taken in the 2nd round.
I remember when people were upset about Aiyuk getting picked in the 1st RD. Now he's our #1 receiver. I like the Pearsall pick. We have another receiver who can actually run routes, because Deebo sucks at running 'em. He couldn't get any separation in the Super Bowl.
SF isn't in a time to develop mode; that's what Pearsall adds to your team! He doesn't improve on what Aiyuk gave you--if you trade/release him! Isn't that where this is headed?! An Aiyuk trade or release?! Plus, even if they kept Aiyuk, Pearsall has a 3rd WR ceiling on a championship team. Does this help you gain on the Chiefs or Ravens?! Isn't that the goal?!
@@pattrell5257 LOL...Pearsall isn't a developement project. he's a 5th year senior, with plenty of ball under his belt...he's a contribute from day one player. where da fuqq you getting he's a developement player ??? your feels cause they didn't get who YOU wanted ???
@@nadjasunflower1387 agreed, pearsall has some other the best hands if not the best, he has a top 10 vertical all time, 2nd best cone drill, best among wr, he's polished and fearless over the middle where kyle and Purdy like to operate. Purdy to pearsall will be lethal kyle just needs to allow it. He needs to improve on blocking and put on size that's the only 2 knocks. He has a lot of the class beat in many areas of his game. We have 9 picks and if they keep picking players like him at different positions we gonna find some studs.
