@@jmeszi4159 I'd say underrated, just because I'd put him up against some of the best rock vocalists *ever*. I bet if you put him up for karaoke for pretty much any song from 1960-present he'd be able to kill it. I can only think of a few other guys I'd put in that group.
I get where you're both coming from. I was bullied almost all the way through school, and ended walking into an abusive marriage. It's not always easy to stand up for yourself or to fight back. The experiences stick with you, even years after you've escaped the situation. Music became my outlet to help overcome the pain and anger, and it's nice to see the two of you sharing the joy and pleasure that music can bring into our lives. Keep it up, and we love you. Yeah, I agree with you guys. The only way to stop a bully is to stand up to them. We really do need to change our internet culture by condemning a-holes online. If they are always shamed and shown it's never acceptable, perhaps it will help knock that crap back.
Q*bert You actually got to outsmart them. When I was in junior high and a bully or bothersome person did something I acted like I liked it. Didn't give them what they wanted. Tried to give me the arm burn by twisting hands back and forth. I smiled and said that feels sooo good. Irritated he moved on to someone else who reacted the way they liked.

I've seen Breaking Benjamin about 10 or 12 times. I have taken my 5 daughters and now my granddaughter. My granddaughter was on stage with them two years ago and several of us got to go on stage with them this last summer. They are so good and just keep getting better.

Omg...this band is great on any song they do...love it...thank you for the reaction rich it is breath not breathe...the song is about addiction and depression from it...you take the breath right out of me is the addiction trying to take over..then the get away please...he is begging for the addiction to be gone ..then he says I'll be the death of you or overcoming the addiction...Ben the lead singer dealt with alcohol addiction...ty for this great reaction...
Personally I love that whole album because Benjamin Burnley (the lead singer) writes all their music and a lot of it is about his life. That album "Phobia" a lot of the songs were about his deepest fears, and another one of their albums is called "Dark Before Dawn" and it is about his struggle with alcoholism and how it almost killed him and his recovery from that. I love them because their music is so personal to him that you can hear the passion in his voice when he sings. I was lucky enough to see them in concert recently and that passion you hear in his voice is definitely amplified in the live performance. They are definitely my favorite band of all time.

Listened to a lot of breaking Benjamin when I was deployed to Iraq. “Rain” still gives me chills today, not a complicated song, but it resonated then and now. The anger under the surface of their music just worked for me. Connected you back to where you’re from in some odd way.

It was so interesting to see Kel's first reaction to "Mr. Blue Sky" by ELO, which was how I was introduced to this channel. Her rare sheltered life is what makes that kind of reaction possible. But it's fascinating to witness her catharsis from that sheltered life as well. I watched the full video although a few months ago I wouldn't have dreamed of doing so. I suppose I'm still changing too.
Yup ... Been here for the entire show. And tell Kel from one French Canadian to another ... We do have long fuses but when it's gone the exposion gets many. I also DON'T tolerate BULLIES and when a bully crosses my path he is quick to realize short people you shouldn't mess with when they are MAD. And I do practice the Non Agression Pact which is YOU DON'T HIT ME AND I DON'T HIT YOU, but if you do that will be the last thing you do. So; tell Kel not to stop being herself. She will find there is both GREAT beauty in the world as there is ugliness.

This was a good song to choose for a first breaking Benjamin experience, it really showcases the style they are, even if it’s not one of the big ones. I just consider them straight up hard rock though. This is my second favorite band and most listened to band, they calm me when I’m going crazy. 😍

Seeing how this video got super negative towards the end and totally took a left turn at entertainment it really changed any comment I had on Breaking Benjamin. While I agree that you should stand up for yourself, when you put yourself out on youtube, you unwittingly become a celebrity for people to pick on. You have to ignore this since these people are the same ones that come back to view your comments after they unsub from your channel. I don't know what happened to Rich but people send parting shots mainly because they've connected with you on some level and something has affected them and they refuse to point the finger at themselves. You being the idol that can't touch them become the focus of all of their shit. Be yourselves, don't let them get to you. They'll be back to appreciate you, smile through their anger, it's not about you.

We would listen to it everyday together, it was a time where in that immediate moment me and my son were the only people in the world, nothing or nobody else mattered. I miss my son, i think of him every minute of the day but rather than be negative i forever remember him for all the positive things he thought, said and did. When I hear this song, I think of a person struggling with an inner demon. Kinda like he’s looking at himself through a mirror and talking to himself about the struggle inside himself. JMO
This song gets to me. And, quite honestly, I wish I could shut the little fu... I mean, the emotional inner voice, up for good. It just gets in the way. Like an annoying splinter under my nail, stopping me from using my hands as well as I could or a fly in your room when you're trying to focus. He is getting quieter and easier to ignore, though, so... Here's hoping.
The past 2 albums dark before dawn and ember both have 1 song each that is not the sound they are known for but the songs "ashes of eden" and "the dark of you" would be great and emotional for yall to react
It is an amazing band, and amazing song. You should have Kel enjoy “Blow Me Away (feat. Valora), “The Diary of Jane” and “Cold”. Some people hate of them cause they became what older people call Mainstream, but they are an amazing band.

I believe their sound is influenced by Tool and a few others I cant recall but they are a very good band. Loved the reaction great vid. Y'all be nice to these two wonderful people. I was fortunate to meet them briefly and they were absolutely awesome and very nice. I can see that. I have always looked at it meaning it's about the eternal fight with the person with in. The inside part of you that tells you that you aren't good enough, the part that causes anxiety "you take the breath right out of me" sounds like a possible anxiety attack. It's like he is talking about fighting himself. "Sacrifice yourself and let me have what's left, I know that I can find the fire in your eyes" it's someone talking to themselves trying to fight against whatever demons that cause their own self doubt.

Firstly, I love this band. I agree Kel, I don’t like the guttural screaming too much either, but Breaking Benjamin pick and choose their moments and make it work in the confines of the music. At the same time, they are melodic, heavy, and poignant. A really awesome band that I truly enjoy. Happy you did a reaction to them. I wanted to also comment on the end of the video as well. Hi Kel n Rich. They are a new band to me and, like Kel, I'm not a fan of bands that 'shout' at me. But this band intrigues me: I agree with Kel that to some extent that the sound is what I would well composed and produced with the lyrics telling a deep story of sorts. I have, however, something rattling around my pea sized brain that maybe you guys could comment on. Why is it that, as good as this song is, my gut tells me to approach this band and further offerings with a dose of caution? I can't put my finger on it but something underneath the music unsettles me. I'm no psycho analyist or philosophical guru but there's just something here... do I make any sense whatsoever?
