#miamidolphins #miamidolphinsnews #247 #vicfangio Miami Dolphins have officially hired vic fangio and he brings a defense that has been a staple in the nfl for years. he has a genius scheme and this is what we are getting.
@Louis Jones We won't have a top offense next yr in my opinion, because later in the season when defenses took away the middle of the field, our offense looked completely different..an Tua doesn't have the arm strength to throw outside the numbers, he rarely even attempt to..so DC's know this
That new defense is the reason why i think we might go Def-Def with our first 2 picks. LB-FS. Even though we all say that surrounding your QB should be #1 priority…. The LB class, for one, is not that deep, at least for Mike LBs, so we might go there at 51. Jack campbell, henry to’o to’o maybe. Safety is pretty deep though. And maybe we can give verone mckinley a shot :)
Nice video. I coached the Tampa 2 and variations of it like this. Only the most accurate of QBs can even come close to beating it. Which there ain't many in the NFL really. You do need good DL line and LB play. I'm subscribed! Mostly because I see you understand the greatness potential of Uno, plus you look like the evil dude from early The Walking Dead!
Interesting points but he does so much more than what you covered here. To say he doesn't blitz isn't accurate. He doesn't blitz as much as we have been for sure but he does utilize blitzing and moves coverage to fill the hole. Kurt Warner has a great video explaining how Fangio works out of his base using what Kurt calls a cover 6 shell with quarters on one side and half on the other. He's also very good at taking away the soft spot in the middle with robbers and cops as Kurt explains. Fangio's defense needs a better middle LB than we currently have so that's one area we will be shopping for in the off season. I don't think we move on from Baker who's probably not the main guy in the middle as he's better on the outside unless Fangio can get more from him in the middle than we've seen before. The classic, Fangio-defense linebacker looks like your average 6’2” 240 pound guy who is well-rounded and has the instincts to play off of the run fits in a light box. I tend to think Channing Tindall might come to the forefront. The thing to keep in mind is that Vic Fangio himself might be the best ILB coach in the league. He had probably the last truly elite linebackers in the league in Navarro Bowman and Patrick Willis, but he’s constantly finding guys you’ve never heard of to be solid-to-good linebackers. I disagree with you on Brand Jones. He has improved a lot in coverage and will thrive in this defense. Here's the link to Kurt's video which is definitely worth watching: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UT1NfAkym3U.html
Your design is great but please take longer to contexualize the graphics you are showing. Say “ok see this defensive tackle? Here is what he is facing.” Because as of now the graphics are great but not useful because you are talking past them too fast. Cheers and thanks for the vids!
Flores defense didn’t “work pretty well” his defense was always 16th ranked or lower. His defense only worked against below average quarterbacks or rookie quarterbacks. Veteran quarterbacks destroyed that defense. Josh Allen embarrassed that pathetic defense. Flores was an idiot. Now we have a real D-coordinator.
So what happens when Tua goes out for eight games and the fins go 2 and 6... The defense may do well but there's that factor of no offence. This is going to happen again and again and again!
He wasn't unemployed he is with the eagles in the Superbowl. The Patriots used his defense to win a Superbowl. His defense is used in 1/3 of the league
