Jewish students have the right to wear items identifying them as Jewish just as Muslim students have the right to wear items identifying them as Muslim and Christians have the right to wear items that identify them as Christians. All should be safe and respected.

In the Germany of the emperors German universties had their own law enforcement. The duke or the emperor granted the universities privileges and their own jurisdiction. Which was marred by antisemitism. In Germany or the germanic countries(even in Russia) antisemitic German students could beat up jewish students at will - without interference oft he law enforcement. The deans in German universities had been as students antisemites themselves and turned a blind eye to everything. Jews had to enterb y the back door, enter lecture halls secretly etc. In most universities jews were barred from student unions. With the revolution in 1918/19 the German students lost their privileges, but they were extremly resentful. The universities during the Weimar republic became hot beds of nazism. The lynchings beatinge and pogroms PREDATED Hitler
