@marycayburkindine1003 Nobody is ever served in Freemasonry. It is the Primary requirement for memebrship, to have, as the centre of ones life, a single supreme being, responsible for the creation of the universe. You have no need to worry about Freemasons. Sadly, most priests simply blindly repeat the mistakes of centuries ago.

Do no be unequally yolked, honor your father and mother - Freemasonry is not compatible with Christianity and you should break off the relationship as soon as possible. I understand this is answer is coming later but Freemasonry is not benign, oaths are serious things, plead with him to repent as well. I pray you would be blessed and that you would be protected by God's Grace and will.

I was invited to become a Mason when I was 18. My reason for declining at the time was "I don't want to get all dressed up for stuffy meetings." Glad I did though, regardless.

All I've ever really known about Freemasonry comes from my uber traditional Catholic grandma who hates it with a passion & is convinced it's behind all kinds of evil goings-on. That is, until I met an actual self-proclaimed Freemason a few months ago. He was nice & seemingly normal enough, but just as you described, he tried to play off Freemasonry as this harmless, wholesome thing. He emphasized that he was a practicing Anglican & that (despite the Catholic Church's stance on Freemasonry) he was educated at a Catholic school & had an influential Jesuit (red flag) mentor. The way he put it, Freemasony is just a fraternal club full of guys from all faiths who are free to worship as they please & use whatever religious texts they want in the banal yet still secret rituals that are completely harmless & mundane. Nothing to see here, folks.

In reply to the question I would also add that she must live the faith fully at this time and if her boyfriend is not supportive of her then the relationship will naturally come to an end. She will need regular confession and she must not be living with or sleeping with this man, period. She must also be chaste in appearance as well as in habits, and be generous to others. If she truly lives and loves her faith and trusts God, then she will not have to make any choices, everything will work out.

My father is a Freemason and my mother is OES. And my parents are not financially successful people. In fact most of the people in his lodge are not. Not rich but hard-working people. And at least here in America they don't recruit. You have to ask. Unless your mom is OES and then she can say whatever she wants... I think they must do Freemasonry quite a bit different in Serbia than they do in America. My memories of Freemasonry we're always of big potlucks, Christmas and Easter celebrations. Going to walk at charity events that there dues went to fund.
@theaorwell4197
@theaorwell4197 4 года назад
Freemasonry to me was always about community, charity and prayer. The dues they pay go to fund free treatment for children with medical conditions at least in America. Such as the Shriners hospitals and they put a lot of money into local community charities as well. I personally don't see how being part of an organization that puts most of its time into helping others and supporting each other regardless of religion is a bad thing.
@lornadoone8887
@lornadoone8887 4 года назад
Thea Isle All of these things should be part of healthy church and parish life. Freemasonry seems to want to substitute for that and to glorify man’s goodness, not Christ’s. I have read in the first rite of initiation for a Mason, the initiate must declare he is “seeking illumination” before being admitted. In the Church, the initiatory rite is Holy Baptism, which is also called “illumination” because as members of the Church we are immersed into Christ who is the Light of the world and receive the Holy Spirit who leads us into all the truth. That means if a baptized Christian seeks membership in a Lodge, he must de facto deny Christ and his Holy Baptism, because he is denying he has already been illumined by Christ and is instead now seeking light from a different source in the Lodge. The Lodge certainly does many things that are not bad in themselves. The question is who gets the glory for the philanthropic activities done by Masons and in whom or what does this fraternal organization direct loyalty, faith & trust? If it is true that to go deep into Freemasonry is also to go deep into occultism and ritual magic, that really tells you all you need to know about the true nature of its goals.
@theaorwell4197
@theaorwell4197 4 года назад
@@lornadoone8887 I appreciate the honest response but I respectfully disagree, illumination means clarification and to my knowledge that is what the first degree is about. Words have multiple meanings and I don't think it's fair to conflate the two. Just cause to groups use the same word doesn't mean it has the same meaning. You don't deny Christ when you seek membership. Their only requirement is that you believe in God. It doesn't require you even be a christian. You can be a Muslim a Jew, it doesn't matter. The important thing is that when you join, you know God. We are all children of God and we should all treat each other as brothers and sisters. We shouldn't look a Jew and say, be is not my my brother because he is a Jew and he knows God differently then I do. We are a family and we should all love eachother even the people who dont love us back. I agree that community, charity and prayer should be a foundation of any church! I was making that point because masonry is often portrayed as a men only, often shady community hidden behind closed doors. Which it curtainly is not! Never did the occasional potluck replace the church community I grew up in. We met twice a year, Christmas and Easter. My church community was the foundation of my upbringing and in no way did masonry come anywhere close to replacing it. As for who gets the 'Glory' from the philanthropic deeds... Well, no one. They do not public promote themselves. Many charities around you are likely fundended by them, but you will never know because they don't publicize where their money does. Love and help eachother unconditionally, the same way God has love for us. Loyalty is first to God. Whatever your faith may be, you should be dedicated to it. I am not member, but I was raised around it and the values my parents taught me. I speak from my experience only. I found alot of what Boyan said to be factually inaccurate and I felt like stating my opinion. :D Fraternal organizations have existed throughout all cultures over time. I feel their is nothing inheritantly wrong with that. I have never found anything about it to be Ungodly and their is nothing occultic about it. Yes their is ritual for initiations, but you can say the same for other fraternal organizations.

Not sure about Freemasonry in Serbia. Freemasonry isn't unified nor the same everywhere. I was in Regular Freemasonry. Grand Lodge of Georgia in Macon. Our version is not a religion nor a substitute for it. The sacred texts in a Masonic Lodge is usually the Christian Bible, but is any sacred religious text you hold as truth so you can take oaths on it. Freemasonry here is very intertwined with Protestant Christianity, even though other monotheistic religious people such as Jews, Muslims, and Sikhs can join. (Not York Rite) That’s Freemasonry's exclusively Christian group. You must be a Christian to be in York Rite. I was Freemason while Melkite Greek Catholic. My Priest and Bishop did not bar me from the Mysterion, but did lovingly get me to leave Freemasonry. That was in 2015. My family has been in Freemasonry from the beginning (George Washington is my cousin by blood for instance).

I like your reply. Masons do accept middle class people though. The women’s side of Masons are the Rebekah’s. My upstairs neighbor is a Rebekah and reads the Bible at every meeting. They have coat drives for the homeless in Winter and other good works. One of the young men at Church (a Convert) was a Mason and my Priest (who I know pretty well) probably cared for him pastorally as a Mason who would grow with Orthodox Spirituality, education and maturity over time. We have many opportunities to serve in the Parish and in our local community and this young man after 5 years is a leader in our young adult community.

+Bonnie Johnstone Bonnie, you are deceived about masonry. Freemasonry, whether it be for men or women is an abomination to God. Freemasons/Eastern Stars/Rebekah's worship Lucifer, Buddha and most other gods as well at their lodges. Freemasonry IS Judaism in disguise as masonry in it's uppermost degrees involves learning the Bablyonian Talmud, practicing Qabalah magick/sorcery and worshipping Lucifer. But you likely know all this, don't you? Read Isaiah 5:20-24 from the King James Bible which directly addresses masonry: Isaiah 5:20-24, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! v21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!” v22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: v23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! v24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Loose your Blue Lodge status and you cease being York Rite, Scottish Rite, or a Shriner.🤦‍♂️ As to all the other nonsense you spouted, it is indeed nonsense. At best, Freemasonry is Deistic like the USA. The God on our money is whatever God you worship, but legally, it's the god of nature. The USA is the world's first secular republic. Christianity and Judaism just left its mark on it. Reading our Founding Fathers will tell you this. Some were atheists, some Deists, and some Christian. Possibly a Jew or two.

Where are lady Mason's now and they have their own ring just as the men do. It was begun back in time in England and it was actually a group of stonemasons!
@TheRealist2022
@TheRealist2022 3 года назад
@Elizabeth Shaw good morning, Elizabeth. You seem to have a rudimentary idea of Freemasons but there are some inaccuracies. Regular (official) Freemasonry is men only. Nobody knows for sure how it started, but it is likely that it evolved from the guilds of stonemasons in the middle ages in Scotland/England. The guilds were a sort of "self-help" group and a network of support. The nature of their occupation, meant that often, they were out of work and naturally because there was no welfare system, they would have been destitute. The guilds supported them until such time as they could find work again. Over time, well to do gentlemen saw this and thought it was a great idea... philanthropy was born! They used the tools that stonemasons used as a guide to integrity and morality..and we have developed in to the brotherhood we are today. The men who work on buildings, cathedrals, monuments etc are called "Operative Masons" while Freemasons are called "Speculative Masons". Certain principles and tenets prevent ladies ever becoming Regular Freemasons. That said, there are Lodges of females who do the same rituals, wear the same regalia, have the same basic rules (except that it's WOMEN only.. no men!) and the same aims. So they are 99% the same as the men. You say we wanted a place to discuss religion and politics. Well, the opposite is true! Religion and politics are the two subjects that are forbidden at a Masonic meeting. Why? Because they are the two subjects that cause all the worlds problems.. including war! Freemasonry is about unity and harmony... not division and discord. I created this account to enable anyone to ask anything they wish about Freemasonry and to dispel the silly rumours about us. So.. questions? Please feel free to ask.

I realize this is tangential to the subject of the video but bear with me. With all due respect, is Freemasonry even a thing anymore? I'm sure 60 years ago it was useful social networking and mutual backscratching club for cigar-chomping tycoons and glad-handing politicians. However, many of them have died off and the bulk of its remaining membership are probably senior citizens who sit around playing bridge or pinochle, reminiscing about the days when they were yay-high to a whippersnapper and talking about their myriad ailments. They're not clandestinely summoning demonic forces from the depths of hell in order to wreak havoc on the mortal realm and bend humanity to their will. Most young people probably have no idea what Freemasonry is and I certainly don't see droves of them flocking to join a local lodge. I'm not saying this to be insulting; rather, I'm arguing that to think that these people are a nefarious cabal at the center of some international conspiracy is ludicrous.
