The Ohio class submarine is the biggest sub ever built for the US Navy. I worked at EB when the hull sections came together on the 726 in 1976. Nothing new at all.

Wow, when I was in the Navy, a brand new 688 cost $500 million. A new carrier was $3-$4 billion. Times have definitely changed.

the idea of the tubes being able to launch a small submarine under water reminds me of the seaview submarine on the TV show voyage to the bottom of the sea. That would be neat.

It could be made to fly by putting a big rocket on the back of it. Side thrusters could run it thru the water and when it wanted to fly it could ignite the rocket and small wings could come out and it could sail to where it needed to go or sail back to the big sub and enter the tube again. We filled several of the silos with concrete because of a treaty...? How stupid was that. Use the available space for other weapons...such as anti-submarine or anti-ship missiles. Or even air defense missiles. Give it the ability to shoot down an airborne threat, if need be.

This is NOT breaking information! The last Ohio Class SSBN & SSGN was commissioned in 1997!!!! Real breaking information would be current information and actual relevant video of the District of Columbia Class SSBN which started construction in 2022. The Ohio Class successor. Damn RU-vidrs, are just like politicians! They don't give a shit what they tell us as long as the money keeps flowing in!
