If Disney feels like pissing money away, let them. Maybe the money will finally go into someone's bank account that actually deserves it. LOL no it won't.
Same. Dont get me wrong, when she is really gone, I will drink a toast and cheer, but until its official, it means nothing. Those rumors come and go for years, she was supposed to be gone like 20 times already
@GrumpyBearRawr you made this comment before I could. These channels have peddled this rumor for half a decade now. And people want it to be true so bad they don't seem to care that these predictions are always wrong.
Keep in mind, KK is part of the Woke axis of Disney. If she is pushed out it’s so the Woke in Disney can survive for a little bit longer… because KK leaving is a battle. Disney is the war.
I saddened by the fact that, in spite of that, she will retire a millionaire, and in her mind she will think she's the shit (her ego won't let her realize otherwise)
unfortunately she really has some dirt, nasty dirt on someone high enough. No way she can fall upwards like this after killing 2 franchises and mortally would another. Indy is dead, willow is dead, SW is on life support. There is no other logical explanation why she still has her position.
Back in the good ol' days... "accidents" would often occur to these kinds of people who knew too much, weren't particularly talented/valuable, yet made it abundantly clear that they knew the right amount of 'unmentionable things' that would seemingly ensure their survival and even prosperity.... ....?Perhaps that's the sort of approach/methodology that should be brought back into play...?🤔🤔🤔🤫🤫🤫🤫
@@b_g_c3281aaaaaaaaand this is why I stay middle ground instead of becoming republican like the rest of my family. How can you justify assasinating people over publishing tv series? Hell, how can you say that those days were the "good ol days"? Get your goofy ahh to therapy and never touch a stove again cause you cant cook for a damn thing 💀
Yeah, and unlike most, I don't hate Filoni but that dude is more like George Lucas than everyone else, the good and the bad. The good, he can write a good script like Lucas. The bad, he needs people there to tell him no or he makes shit
@@Cwmira453 I don't think so. All they gotta do is make a time skip after return of the jedi (like 100 years or so)) act as if episode 7+ did not happen (aka retcon) AND create some actually good content with good writing, good acting and good effects. They gotta do something new that does NOT damage the classic stuff ( with retconning or changing lore) and does not validate the KK-area and it has to be good.
I count Timothy Zahn as one of my contacts and peers as a writer. I wrote the first draft of my Episode X: The Empire Strikes Again script in 2018 to save the main series after I watched Episode VIII: Last Jedi. My most recent draft (2022-23) gives Thrawn the opening shot.
yep. andor, rogue one, and mando s1-2 were ALL more "diverse" than the acolyte, but there was ZERO "racist/misogynist backlash". make a half-decent story and youre set. BUT NOOO, they have to make GARBAGE like the fcking acolyte.
@@wrongtime9097 Yes, it was obvious, even kind of mentioned that one of the Rebel team was not interested in men. There was no kiss on screen but it was clear to us. And nobody had a problem with that. Vel and Cinta were the characters.
Does someone have a guide to what qualifies as "woke"? So the lesbians in Andor are ok, because they limited to just a "pair" of lesbians? Were the lesbian witches in Acolyte enough to put it in the woke category? Lesbians in Star Wars, in any amount is "woke". You can't allow "some agenda" and not other agendas. Agendas are agendas 🎤👇
Tony Gilroy and Jon Favreau are the only ones who have made truly good 'Star Wars' in the last ten plus years. Tony Gilroy made the best 'Star Wars' show, and he made the best 'Star Wars' movie since the original trilogy. Disney needs to learn or lose more money making more woke sermons-with-a-lightsaber-fight.
These DEI people don't just want equal representation, they want OVERrepresentation to make up for PAST underrepresentation. In other words, REPARATIONS.
I have to be honest with you, if the story was good… I would be ok with it. The problem is woke is the armor of the mediocre… thus we get things like the acolyte.
California State Sen. Steven Bradford: “If you can inherit generational wealth, you can inherit generational debt,” Bradford said. “Reparations is a debt that’s owed to descendants of slavery.” LMAO Here is another On Generational Wealth: "It is estimated that 70% of wealthy families will lose their wealth by the second generation and 90% will lose it by the third" - for various reasons like inflation, and well, dillution from the many offsprings that branch out along the historic timeline. So if someone got rich back in the day from slavery by now they lost it all and their descendants probably paying of college tuition and mortgages like everyone else... while some entitled people are trying to guilt trip people into giving them free taxpayer money for something thats happened generations ago.
@@TheMattJacks That doesn't mean a thing other then Matt Smith potentially ruining his legacy if the writing team is still intent on wokefying everything.
@Lm2190 I hope the same thing goes for the new Black Raceswap Airel show It better be so bad disney has no choice to cancel it after 1 season I WISH RACESWAPPING WAS ILLEGAL!
Hedland has dirt on KK and others, so she got a massive budget to make crap meant to be a middle finger at the massive male Star Wars fanbase. It's a theory that fits the facts.
I’ve felt this way for a while, I have a hard time believing such incompetence exists but spite is far more plausible. They killed it and now they are desecrating the corpse.
Nah, KK isn't going anywhere. Gilroy might do a project for them, but KK, and her minions, will infuse it with their agenda. Forget about Star Wars, it's gone.
True even if they replace Gilroy as creative director he isnt going to go against Kennedy agenda and she outranks him as President so he will kowtow to her feminism and nothing will change until Kennedy is gone.
Here is a point I do not get. They want to make movies for 1% of the population, yet can not figure out why 99% are not willing to shell out lots of money for them. Why would they think that people would want to see a movie or series that does not match what they want?
Because they expect a lot of people to be incompetent enough to be okay with what they are producing. These are people who expects us to be manipulated by their antics.
In a nuanced way, politics DO belong in entertainment. The thing is, you need to be a talented person with a vision to write a good story to sell it to your audience and bring them to your side... BUT. Not only are these people hacks with no talent, but their worldview is insane, and they know they cannot sell it to normal people, no matter how hard they try, since they have no good arguments.
Andor is thr most political star wars content by far. You have a character who literally is penning an anarchist manifesto. It's the furthest left piece of media ive seen in a long time and it is a masterwork!
@@variouscrazypeople254 lmaooo look at interviews he gave he literally explained it…you should look at them, George’s interviews in general are pretty great to understand really how deep Star Wars goes into politics and social issues when he created it. Don’t get me wrong I hate the Disney Star Wars and the forced OVERrepresentation they have been doing.
Too late...it would take a death star-sized miracle by Tony Gilroy to repair the damage Bob Palpatine, Darth Kennedy and her apprentice, I mean, acolyte - Darth Hedland have done...
I would agree except that Andor is such a terrific show. It is so different from all other Disney Star Wars. It's a different Universe, it's Lucas' universe. You should give it a try if you can.
@@MrGadfly772 I will GLADLY give Andor a pass, as it's the only well-written Star Wars property that the Sith (KK and Hedland) haven't had their grimy paws in...
THANK YOU! Holy shit, these desperate for clicks RU-vidrs can't come up with an original thought to save their lives so they have to clickbait the thumbnail and return to mere speculation in the video, essentially the definition of false advertising as they get PAID for this crap.
Well you successfully incorrectly wrote that sentence. Their push for streaming was out for innovation, easier distribution, and to compete with Netflix. It was not a mistake and is absolutely was not made out of being complacent. If they were complacent, they would not have made Disney+. Lets get the facts straight. The platform is NOT the problem. It never was. Being complacent is not a problem. This is a multi billion multi generational company. They do not obtain that status being 'complacent'. As everyone has echoed across this comment thread and across media, the problem is poor quality productions. It does not matter if it was put on a CD or available to stream. A bad film is a bad film. Period.
What? Ok, maybe I wasn't clear enough. I'm saying that Disney+ is what made them complacent. That complacency has led to substandard productions. Raking in so much money every month automatically was too great a temptation. Greed. It was a mistake. Failure was inevitable, and what do we have to show for it? After The Acolyte has wasted 180 million dollars on some bad fanfiction, with none of it going to the kind of experienced moviemakers and actual talent that genuinely might have been able to make it work, and could have actually taught others involved how to pull it off, I'm going back to DVDs. Oh look, I already have the Star Wars movies, among many, many others. New does not mean better. I expect these subscription services, even Disney+, will inevitably turn to capitalising on advertising revenue before the end, like everything else... what's that you say? Some of them already have that in their lowest tier subscriptions? Oh dear. Looks like it was a mistake to me, as greed consumes all. Don't worry, I'm a lost cause, and already used the money that would have gone to Disney this month on a different service; House of The Dragon is wild, and I'm only just now watching season 1, but if that's what the competition can bring to the table then Disney+ was a mistake, period. I hear Godzilla Minus One is pretty good, and cost less than a single episode of The Acolyte too. I'm no Godzilla fan, and scroll past so much other crap on every subscription service, but might now watch that one on general principle. For the price of only a single movie ticket each month? You can bet your ass it was a mistake.
@@ian8477 And this is where I leave this conversation. Friend, no. Just no. Come back to the comments section when you take a couple business classes and learn to look at things through an objective lens. If you honestly believe Disney+ is the mistake or problem or that the company is complacent, do yourself a favor and NEVER try to run a business. It is one thing to not like something. It is one thing to have a disagreement. You can have opinions. But it is very different when you are so profoundly fixated on inaccurate claims.
@@christopherpoet458 Fair enough. Just remember that not every happy, or unhappy, customer knows any more than I do about running a business. All I know is that I wouldn't keep stocking a restaurant with a dish that consistently doesn't sell, or keep a chef on staff that consistently undercooks the food and gives everyone salmonella. Have a happy Life Day this year. Having never watched it before now, I have grown a great appreciation for The Star Wars Holiday Special, as an experimental film and fine example of Star Wars parodying itself before it ever got big enough for Disney to spend 4 billion dollars to own the IP. "The customer is always right, in matters of taste." or so I hear.
If Disney thinks they can just fish that turd out of the punch bowl and everything will be okay they are sadly mistaken. The damage has been done. Star Wars is completely fubar.
I will NEVER forgive Disney for not filming Han, Luke and Leia TOGETHER in their sequel triloshit. We could have seen the ACTUAL OG cast together AGAIN and that chance is now gone FOREVER! Fuck Disney, fuck Bob Iger and, for the love of God, FUCK KATHLEEN KENNEDY 🤮🤮🤮
Uh, nothing will really change. I mean, all of Disney's movies have the same flaw because the company itself has been poisoned. Replacing a single person will not solve the underlying problem.
Giving Kathleen license to do anything she wants with Star Wars is akin to giving an elderly truck driver with no experience in writing the freedom to do whatever he wants with Barbie. You know its not going to attract the fanbase and fail miserably.
We probably will not be going to talk about this in a few years but those who study business management, arts or something related to producing entertainment that actually wants to make a profit might talk about this since this is a good example of how to destroy a business by "not catering to your customers and alienating them". They are like a steakhouse that suddenly switched the entire menu to vegetarian then shocked why they are losing cash and blame their customers for not buying their salads.
Guy firing KK is not enough 90% of deciding coroprates are deeply activists. We need Bob and the board to be replaced and then to replace a lot of people.
The IP needs to be purchased from Disney and ripped away from Lucasfilm to be handed to a new studio at this point.... pretty sure Disney will never agree to sell the IP though at least not until they're forced to sell everything of to pay debts.
Make sure to keep your copies of real Star Wars in good condition so you can one day say you watched Star Wars with your Grand Children, Disney won't give us anything worth watching ever again.
If KK still gets to stand in the same room as the people creating Star Wars stories, it'll never recover. I'll never forget KK telling us that there was NOTHING for them to work with so they had to create their own Star Wars Stories. Star Wars EU didn't exist in their world. Revan doesn't exist in KK's, "Force is Female" universe.
For the love of God, this is the 138th time they say: KK is going to be replaced. She have enough dirt on Iger to not get remove, stop thinking Disney can make that choice
I don't like woke Disney at all. I found Andor to be a boring story about a boring side character that didn't add anything to the Star Wars lore. That being said, I am just one man with his opinion, I am no authority on anything, I just have an opinion.
What I usually say to people who said they didn't like andor is: try again. With a little patience, watch it and pay attention. It's a difficult show to digest. It's not a show you put on to relax after a hard day's work, it will simply tire you even more.
@@SenatiosWhy would I watch Andor again if I didn't like it the first time? It's not dificult to digest, it's quite predictable in its 3 episode arcs which is why its pacing feels so slow. Throw in the fact it doesn't actually add anything, and is the tale of a side character they killed off in his first appearance. However it was well written, with some great acting and production. It is worth a watch, but not as great as many claim it to be.
@@gman3901 well I mean you aren't forced to. I myself didn't quite find it thrilling the first time, but then I gave it another shot, looked at it from a not so casual perspective. The second time I absolutely loved it. Of course, if you don't have the time or the energy for it, you aren't compelled to watch it twice. But it's something that worked for me, and it's advice for people who want to like it but so far haven't
The only thing I would accept from Disney Star Wars is a complete reboot of the sequel trilogy using the original George Lucas treatment and using his notes on the screenplay.
I have zero interest in touching anything related to Star Wars as of 5 years ago. The controversy is more entertaining than any screenplay these stupid fucks could glue together.
You KNOW the answer as to just WTF is going on at Disney! Think about it: WHOOO was the PERSONAL ASSISTANT of one Emporer Palpatine??? EXTORTION, can you say? Correction: the not twin burned down a STONE castle! Why don’t these people understand the simple, basic dynamics of rapid oxidation?! 🤷♀️
The ONLY way Lucasfilm will EVER recapture the legions of fans who have deserted the franchise is to appoint Tony Gilroy and John Favreau as the president and vice president of the Star Wars arm of Lucasfilm!
"Kathleen Kennedy is on her way out ..." Boy, if I got a dollar for every time someone said that I would be a millionair by now. Honestly, don't hold your breath.
Andor was so good that peoples first reactions were, did they just give Andor the money and left them to it. If you haven't watched it yet do so. it isn't long but its story arcs are about 3 episodes. the locations are gorgeous and real, (people compared the final fight in obi wan and Andor leaves it for dead). its premis is showing how the resistance began and it has big BIG name actors in it, including skarsgard (when you get to his speech it will send shivers down his spine.) Andy Serkis is in it for one story arc and with the main lead absolutely kills it. After watching andor everything after sadly is pure trash.
I"m the only women that see these types of movies, Kathleen Kenndedy is into women and thought women would come and support. I just like a balanced movie and not about who you sleep with,, then called a racist for there failure. My brother was gay, to be called a racist is unreal.. I love Dune 2 and Mad Max, there is a balance it was mainly men at these movies.. Women I know, liked Barbie and young girls I didi't go not my thing or young boys.
I laughed my ass off at Andor when I saw Ak-47's with lazy minimal mods on them. Looked so dumb, at least put some heavy mods on them to make sure it doesn't look like a contemporary weapon... 🤷🏼🤣
The good news is then, just like Star Wars fans who only love the original trilogy, you'll still have all the Kennedy stuff to enjoy. And if I'm wrong and you're not that type of SW fan, and you're actually only a fan of the original trilogy, it's perhaps time to give up on this franchise completely! I'm not saying that to be nasty, as that absolutely described me until Rogue One turned up, and then Andor. Good news though; if you do accept this franchise isn't for you, you still get to watch it, and however s*** you find a TV show or movie in future you won't be upset. Honestly the comments and thoughts I hear about the Acolyte just have me think "so hardcore SW fans are finally experiencing what I've felt for ninety five percent of this franchise's history!".
They need to just say acolyte isnt canon and not part of the standard universe because thats how everyone is gonna think of it anyways. No way im going to consider this as legit
The parabole of KK is quite enlightening when talking about the ruling class: when you are nobility, you can fail and fail again, you can be dumb as a rock, but you will keep your place of power until your own domain is in ruins.
Unless Kathleen is actually out, she is not out. Don't give me this, "if Tony is in, that means Kathleen is basically out", bullshit copium. If she's actually gone, then I will have cautious optimism. But until then, anything else is literally just cope.
The rumors you are reporting sound fine, however, my trust level with Disney/LucasFilm/Marvel/Pixar is gone, destroyed by them and their woke racist/sexist/misandristic beliefs and actions. So I’m afraid I am only going to believe it, any of it, if and when we actually see it. And to be accurate, nothing in “The Acolyte” killed “Star Wars”. Disney/LucasFilm killed the legitimate “Star Wars@ franchise long ago. “The Acolyte” is Disney/LucasFilm, Kathleen Kennedy, and Leslye Headland desecrating its corpse and defiling its memory.
People forget that Andor has some really bad pointless parts and filler to it. ALL of the prison scenes are Gold, untouchable and a fair way to being the greatest Star Wars storyline - Period..... but the cereal munching ultra-beta male idiot's story was/is atrocious.... and the amount of time they place on him and that female imperial officer was tragic. They HAVE to stay away from that, because it almost caused Andor to be a train wreck. But Serkis and co were the magic and the bomb... has to remain like that type of writing as the centre piece.
KATHKLEEN KENNEDY MUST GO. Not step back but go entirely. Whether she resigns or is fired, is immaterial, but her destructive and divisive reign over SW must end immediately. Anyone who wants SW to return, should take up the call.
Disney doesn't understand Star wars. The good thing about the Gilroy show, he didn't have to even touch Jedi/Sith. He wrote an espionage thriller in the star wars universe.
imagine being a cook that's never served a decent meal in your life. like burnt food kinda bad. now imagine that same cook working in a high end, 5 star restaurant for multiple years in a row. now imagine why the restaurant ran out of business. the customers are obviously racist
All of this of Kathleen Kennedy being fired is all BS. If there was any validity to it, KK would have been fired after The Last Jedi. Also. Do we really need Tony Gilroy in control? He’s a good film maker, but he’s no George Lucas.
I honestly could care less about the culture war. I just want disney to start caring about star wars and making decent movies and shows. Like seriously at least make it halfway decent instead of trying to destroy it.
