I had 2 Bronze Corydora females in with my Gold Laser Colony... and woke up one morning to the Bronzes mating with the Gold lasers... that's when I found out they were both in the same family... and odly enough... the offspring ended up being Gold lasers... even t though it was a Bronze/Green Aneas Corydora and a Gold laser male cross. Very interesting to say the least. Female Bronze Corydoras... reproduce with a lot of food. So they are easy to breed. I call the offspring RUSTY Lasers. But they look like Gold Laser Corydoras... with a bit darker green to their body and a Deep Gold line.
@@Timzyzz The genetics look strong... they all got that solid Gold Line. Goldish yellow fins and underbelly... and a lighter green side color. They legit look cool. I wish I could start a new genetics... when these were fry... I kept 6 to see what I could get... 2 died... and 4 lived... I have 3 Males and 1 Female Rusty Laser Corydoras. The regular Anaeus females and the 4 Rusty's are all in their own tank now. I might throw my most colorful Gold Laser male in there to breed with the Rusty Female to strengthen the gold line and yellowish fins/underbelly. See what gen 2 looks like. Who knows... might end up calling them Busted Lasers by the end... Probably should document with photos. anyways glad you liked the post.
@@rickgrimezz3942 I've had my bronze breed with sterbai not intentionally and they produced what looks like a lil leapard, a single Cory which looked completely different from all mine on a rock one day during feeding time greeted me , no idea how it survived but I'm greatful haha
Corydoras are such beautiful fish! I just had to rehome mine because I moved recently but they went to a big new home and they make any tank just so beautiful. The panda corys are my personal favorites
So glad I found your channel bro I feel I’m getting awesome info before diving into breeding certain species just like this Thanks for all you do for the hobby man 🤘🏼
I got a little group of these beautiful corydoras this week and as always try to get as much information about them as I can :) Thank you so much for this very helpful and interesting video about their breeding. learned a lot!
Can't wait for my gold lasers to breed! Black worms are hard to come by right now so been having to use freeze dried tubifex worms or frozen bloodworms. Appreiciate you sharing mate!
I am new to your channel and find it to be the best on fish breeding overall, as you do not bore the viewer. If you ever have luck breeding any kind of Garra fish like Panda or even Rufa.. please ❤️ upload some kind of tutorial. These are my favorite fish as they remind me of loaches except they are more active and not shy. 👍🥂👍 Somehow I feel like I'm heading down the same road you're on. Cheers! 🥂
The secrete to getting cory cats to breed is feeding them. They will detect the abundance amount of food and that means it's time to breed. As simple as that. I have used the chicken left over in the can from feeding my dog and that gets them to breed.
I recently had a batch of 25 peppered Cory's and it actually happened by mistake when moved all other fish to a new planted tank and then discovered ( just before draining ) about 3 days later there was fry swimming about , amazing lil things . Now hoping in time my orange venasalian breed in my tank when a lil older lol
I make use of an bankcard or some plastic card to get the eggs of the glass and back in the old days i used a coffecup/muk to put the eggs in with small airstone and some esa2000, and after that in an 5 liter fishtank with waterlevel just above the heater (if you let it lay on its side horizontale ) coz the fry can drown if the water level is to high in thise fase). Nice video again👌🏻 keep it up. Hello from Holland 👋🏻
So I’m on my third batch of gold lasers and learning a lot. I’m in the UK so I have to put a heater in the tank with them!! The lesson learnt this time, don’t leave the heater on the bottom of the aquarium 😢
I might want to try something else.. I have a truckload of bronze corys now and I realized there might a 3rd component to the trigger : Besides temperature and food, it might also be air pressure related - the last time I had an unexpected spawn in my main tank was when a big thunderstorm came by my place - looked the meteorological data at the time and there was a very significant drop of pressure.. and we all know how fish are sensitive to atmospheric pressure ! So basically : - A big storm comes in (pressure drop) - Massive rainfall (Temp drop) - Food festival (due to the rain) I bought myself some utility buckets with airtight lids, and see if I can mount an air valve and a pressure gauge and try to validate that theory !
Amazing video! I've just came by your channel and really like your content. A week ago I have set up a 25 gallon tank which is cycling now. After the cycle I am going to try breeding Albino/Julii cory's and also Molly's! This video was really helpfull for me! Thank you😀
I would never have thought a 10 degree change in temp could be so important (along with diet)... I'm new, but done other easier fish where water change alone was enough
Out of 99% of the youtuber breeders out there youre aquariums seem to be the most messy ! Not trollin you just curious are you just purposefully doing that or just the up keep too much to handle ? Again I'm not trollin you, just curious, btw congrats on the corys breeding ! Those lazer corys are my fav ! Next on the bucket list .
Hey mate I have started breeding shrimp but I have no clue how to get them to, watched videos and they all say different things, what do you do to trigger them to breed
I believe est way to help shrimp breed is leave them be of course keep them at all the right conditions but I believe the less changes in tank the better , also just make sure the shrimp you are trying to breed are not amanio shrimp as that's a whole different story which involved brackish tank for the eggs .. that makes things alot more complicated lol
WAW...THANK YOU ... : ) I HAVE SOME GOLD ( OR ORANGE ) LASER CORYDORAS AND MORE CORYDORAS SPECIES THAT I WANT TO BREED FOR YEARS , ( I WILL SUCCEED SOME-DAY :) THANK YOU FOR SHARING :) THANK YOU FROM ISRAEL :)
Hello! Could you teach us how to hatch live food like daphnia or brine shrimps. I’m trying to get my foot into the live food thing but I don’t know where to start. I really appreciate it!
Great success on breeding Gold laser cory cat fish, Can you do a video on all species of fish that don't need a heater, cause my LFS says theres only a few, I'm positive there's more then a few species of fish that don't need heaters, plus what Pleco's don't need heater if there is any
These fish are crazy hardy. I have seen them live in a aquarium that has not had water refreshed for years, had algea everywhere (everything was green) filer was dead for a while, heater was dead for a while, temp was 17c and the only thing still being done was a air pump and a nasty old lamp. And why not just move the fish out and leave them in the tank to hatch ? dont see why you should take the risk.
